Fig. 2b zeigt in Draufsicht das Versehluss- glied in aufgefaltetem Zustande.
Closure of packs
In the case of known adhesive closures of packings, there is in many cases the disadvantage that they cannot be opened without tearing open or otherwise undesirably damaging the packaging material. This is particularly the case with the known closure members formed by adhesive strips, which adhere so firmly to the packaging material that parts of the packaging material are inevitably torn off when they are opened.
The present invention now relates to a closure of packs which eliminates these deficiencies, in which two facing surfaces of a packaging material are arranged directly one above the other and which is characterized in that it has a closure member provided on both sides with adhesive, the adhesive surfaces of which m the said packaging material surfaces in such a way adhere firmly so that when torn open, the closure member divides between its adhesive surfaces without damaging the packaging material into parts attached to one of the aforementioned packaging material surfaces.
The packaging material can for example consist of bags, envelopes, boxes, rolls and the like. The closure can advantageously be used in the packaging of photographic materials, in particular for roll films, with strips of protective paper.
The closure member can consist, for example, of two layers which are connected to one another with less adhesive strength. than the adhesive connections between these layers and the packaging material show, so that the closure member is split along the common connection surface of the two layers when it is torn open.
The drawing shows some exemplary embodiments of the subject matter of the invention.
1a and 1b show, in the closed or torn state, an embodiment in the central cross-section for a rectangular box pack.
2a shows a particular embodiment of the closure member in cross section.
2b shows a top view of the closure member in the unfolded state.
3a and 3b show in cross section in the closed or torn state a further embodiment of the inven tion subject for a roll pack.
In the embodiment according to FIGS. 1 a and 1 b, the packaging material made of stiff paper or light cardboard is folded in a known manner in the form of a rectangular box, with the free end part 1 of the packaging material located above the material part 2 forming the top of the box partially overlaps, so that the underside of part 1 and the upper side of part 2 form two facing surfaces arranged directly one above the other. A closure member 4 is now inserted between these two surfaces, as can be seen from FIG. 1 a, the free end of the part 1 protruding slightly beyond the closure member 4.
The closure member 4 consists of a tearable material, for example a square piece of paper, which is provided with adhesive on both sides and whose adhesive surfaces adhere to the packaging material surfaces of parts 1 and 2 in such a way that when torn open, as in FIG illustrates the closure member 4 divides between its adhesive surfaces into two parts 4a, 4b, of which the part 4a is seated on the packaging material part 1 and the part 4b on the packaging material part 2.
There is therefore no damage to the package material when the closure is torn open. To tear open, grasp the end 3 of part 1 with one hand and hold the pack on part 2 with the other hand.
If the material of the closure member 4 has a considerable absorption capacity for the adhesive, as is always the case, for example, with unsized or poorly sized paper, care must be taken that when the adhesive is applied it does not penetrate too deeply into the closure member, otherwise the splitting of the closure member when tearing open the closure could no longer be guaranteed if the closure member were completely soaked by the adhesive and therefore would have a greater strength than the original due to its action.
In the embodiment of the closure member according to FIGS. 2a and 2b, the closure member is formed from a strip 5 (FIG. 26), which can again consist of paper and is spaced apart by two extending in the longitudinal direction of the strip Perforations 6 or other linear weakenings, such as scratches or the like, are divided into a central field 7 and two edge fields 8. The strip is provided with an adhesive over its entire upper side shown in FIG. 2b. In order to form the closure member, the edge parts 8 are folded downwards by 90 around the visual weakness lines 6, until they are in full contact with the middle part 7.
The closure member produced in this way and illustrated in FIG. 2c therefore has the same shape as that explained above with reference to FIGS. La and lb and is again provided with adhesive on both sides by the strip, as described, in one of the glued areas close to is folded in a reciprocating manner.
It is therefore clamped in the same way between the relevant Verpaekungsmaterialteile 1 and 2 (Fig. La). When torn open, the closure member is again divided into parts 7 or 8, 8, respectively, which are seated on one of the aforementioned packaging material surfaces, specifically along the weaknesses 6 through which the fold tear point is pre-formed.
In the illustrated embodiment according to FIGS. 2a and 2b, the closure member has a flat tube shape with edges that collide in the middle part of a flat side. However, nothing stands in the way. hold the edge parts 8 so that their free edges are at a distance from one another in the folded state or, conversely, one edge part 8 can be omitted and the other edge part may be widened with its free edge beyond the center of part 7 or possibly extending over the entire width of the part 7.
In the embodiment according to FIGS. 3a and 3b, it is a matter of a closure. for packaging material, which is formed by the usual protective paper strips of a roll film, the closure member, again denoted by 4, being arranged between the free end part 9 of the protective paper strip and the winding 10 underneath in such a way that the protective strip end 3, which is usually symmetrical to the longitudinal center line, is over the ver Sehluss member 4 protrudes. The closure member 3 has the same properties as that explained with reference to FIGS. 1 a and 1 b and is glued in in an analogous manner.
To tear open the closure, the operator grasps the free end 3 with one hand while holding the roll with the other hand on the winding 10. After tearing open, according to FIG. 3b, a part of the closure member sticks again to the end part 9 and the other part 4b on the turn 10, so that when tearing open only the closure member is split without the protective strip itself being damaged.
