Electrical switching device The present invention relates to an electrical switching device for uninterrupted switching of a line to two or more lines. Such a switching device is required, for example, for current relays which are connected to the secondary side of current transformers and whose coils have taps in order to adapt the relays to various current values.
In order for such relays to switch from one tap to another during operation, the switching device must be designed so that the secondary circuit of the current transformer is not opened during the switchover process.
The present invention now shows a cinfaelie switching device of this type, which is characterized in that it has a plurality of switching pieces arranged in an insulating part, which are provided with bores for receiving a contact plug, that furthermore is displaceable in its longitudinal direction and in front of the switching pieces Contact rail is present, which also has bores, the distance between two adjacent bores of this contact rail being equal to the distance between two adjacent bores in the contact pieces, which rail is under the influence of a spring with a contact element on it against one of the contact pieces is moved,
if there is no contact plug in the holes. The accompanying drawing shows an exemplary embodiment of a switching device according to the invention.
Fig.1 shows the entire switching device, while in Fig. 2, a contact plug is ge shows.
The switching device has a greater number of contact pieces 3, which are seen with holes 2 for receiving a contact plug 1 ver. The contact plug 1 has a cylindrical part that fits into the bore 2 and a conical tip. The switching pieces 3 are inserted into an insulating part 4 and connected by screws 5 to the leads, for example to the taps of a relay. The contact pieces 3 are separated by the intermediate insulating parts 12. 6 with a metal rail is referred to, which is movable in its longitudinal direction and has bores 7, the distance from each other is equal to the distance between each two adjacent bores 2 of the contact pieces 3.
The diameter of the bores 7 corresponds to the diameter of the bores 2. The rail 6 is at a small distance from the, contact pieces 3 through the spacer plates 13, of which the lower one is not visible in the drawing, and slides on the plates 4 'and 4 "of the insulating part 4. The rail 6 has a slot on the left-hand side in which a screw with the head 8 is inserted to guide the rail in its longitudinal movement. The other end of the rail is under the influence of one end the spring 9 trying to move the rail to the left.
The spring 9 is provided with a terminal 10 to which that lead is connected which is to be brought into connection with any of the leads connected to the contact pieces. The rail 6 is also seen with a pin 11 ver, which rests against the outermost of the contact pieces 3, if no plug is inserted. The connection between the lead to terminal 10 and a lead connected to the contact pieces can now be established without interrupting the circuit. This is achieved by the switching device just described in the following way.
The spring 9, which is connected to the terminal 10, pushes the rail 6 to the left when the plug 1 is pulled out, so that the pin 11 is brought into contact with the outermost of the contact pieces 3. In this way, a connection is made from terminal 10 to the outermost contact piece 3. At the same time, a small shift occurs between the holes 7 of the rail 6 and the holes 2 of the contact pieces 3. However, this shift is only so great that the contact plug 1, when it is inserted into one of the bores 7 of the rail 6, can also engage into the bore 2 of the corresponding contact piece 3.
By inserting the plug further, the rail 6 is moved back to the right, against the action of the spring 9, the pin 11 leaving the outermost of the contact pieces 3 with which it was in contact. If the con tact plug 1 is pulled out, the pin 11 makes contact with the contact piece 3 again before the contact plug 1 has completely left the hole in the contact piece 3.
Although the application of the invention to a current relay for connection to current transformers has been described above, it can of course be used wherever a switching process from one line to several lines, on the other hand, has to be carried out without interrupting the circuit.
