Cigarette holder The present invention relates to a cigarette holder (or cigar holder). It aims to provide a cigarette holder which filters the smoke and forms a sealed whole for smoking while reducing as much as possible the damage to health from smoke.

In the four embodiments shown, the smoker comprises a tube a and a stopper b. The tube is filled with granu les 1 of a filter material. The tube is sized to contain the required amount of granules. It has at one end a rim intended to be held by the teeth of the smoker and a channel 3 intended for the suction of the smoke and communicating with the interior of the tube. The diameter of channel 3 is less than the minimum dimension of granules 1, so that these granules cannot escape through channel 3.
The diameter of the tube a gradually increases from the end .2 and the tube ends with a cylindrical part having an opening 4 through which the granules are introduced during the manufacture of the cigarette holder.
The stopper b has one end 5 of the tines to penetrate into the opening 4 of the tube a so as to close the latter. The stopper b therefore constitutes an extension of the tube a. It has an opening 6 at its other end and an interior .cavity 7 intended to receive the cigarette.
The cavity 7 communicates with the interior of the tube a by means of a cross-shaped opening 8 and allows the free passage of smoke, while preventing the passage of granules 1 into the cavity 7, the opening 8 having dimensions such that the thread granules cannot pass through this opening.
The cigarette holder is filled with the granules 1 during manufacture. The entire cavity of the tube a reserved for this purpose is filled and the stopper b is then placed on the tube. Glue can be used to permanently attach the stopper to the tube. It is therefore impossible to replace the filtering material subsequently.
The cigarette holder can be made of economical plastic. After use for a certain number of cigarettes, it is discarded and replaced by another, which ensures maximum hygiene for the smoker and allows him to smoke with minimal risk to his health. The dimensions of the filter are such that a large part of the nicotine, gou drons and toxic gases is stopped. The most suitable filter material for constituting the granules 1 is silica gel mixed with carbon.
The stopper b is made of a plastic material capable of withstanding the heat which is given off when the cigarette is smoked to the end. It can therefore be molded from a thermosetting plastic material, for example Bakelite. On the other hand, the tube can be molded from polystyrene.
In the first embodiment: shown in Figs. 1 to 3, the stopper can be welded to the polystyrene tube by means of toluene which dissolves this plastic material.
In the second embodiment shown in Figs. 4 to 6, the stopper b has teeth 14 intended to be housed in notches 15 formed in the corresponding part of the tube a and thus ensuring the fixing of the stopper on the tube. The teeth 14 constitute real locks which can penetrate into the notches 15 owing to the elasticity of the end 5 of the stopper. The stopper b constitutes an effective seal for the tube and cannot be withdrawn from the latter, which would cause the cigarette holder to lose its aseptic and hygienic properties.
In the third embodiment shown in Figs. 7 to 9, the stopper b has grooves 9. If the tube is made of polystyrene and if it is welded to the stopper with toluene, the poly styrene softens and enters the grooves 9 of the stopper, which prevents rotation and removing the cap relative to the tube.
In the fourth embodiment shown in FIGS. 10 to 14, the stopper b has grooves 10 arranged to cooperate with corresponding protrusions 11 inside the tube, and protrusions 13 capable of cooperating with corresponding grooves 12 cut in the tube. This double system of grooves and protrusions avoids any rotation of the plug in the tube and welding with toluene, for example, gives a perfect seal of the plug in the tube.
The cigarette holder described provides complete hygiene guarantees and constitutes an effective barrier for harmful tobacco products. The filter is particularly active due to its large size, so that it stops not only nicotine, but also tars and toxic gases.
The cavity of the tube has two functions: first of all it constitutes a receptacle for the filtering material, and then the only passage allowed for the smoke. This explains the great effectiveness of the cigarette holder. The latter can therefore be used to smoke a fairly large number of cigarettes, so that it is economically used.
