Device indicating the outside temperature inside an enclosure
The present invention relates to a device making it possible to indicate, inside a room, the outside temperature through a partition of non-magnetic substance, without piercing the latter.
To this end, the device comprises two magnetic parts arranged opposite one another on either side of the partition beyond which it is desired to measure the temperature, these two magnetic parts rotating around the same geometric axis. and the external magnetized piece being connected to a temperature-sensitive member and causing this magnetized piece to rotate at an angle depending on the temperature to be measured so as to in turn drive the other magnetized piece integral in rotation with an indicator needle , while a second temperature sensitive member is mounted in the vicinity of the second magnetized part to directly drive a second hand concentric to the first and intended to display the temperature of the interior side of the partition on the same dial as the temperature indicated by the first needle.
These two temperature-sensitive members are preferably each constituted by a spiral arranged concentrically to the axis of rotation of the magnets.
By way of example, the attached drawing shows an embodiment of an apparatus making it possible to read on a single dial the temperature both inside and outside a room.
A shell a (fig. 1) provided with suction cups b making it possible to adhere to a partition (glass, etc.) comprises inside a temperature-sensitive spiral c, imparting to an axis d its oscillation movement; at the end of this axis, a magnet e is placed perpendicular to it. On the other hand, a second shell f (fig. 2) also provided with suction cups b has inside an axis g on which is fixed on one side a magnet h which is perpendicular to it, this magnet being similar to the first magnet e, and on the other hand a hand i indicating the temperature recorded by the spiral c.
In this shell is also housed a temperature-sensitive spiral j, integral with another hand k moving coaxially with the hand i on the dial 1 suitably graduated in degrees and indicating the ambient temperature.
The operation of this device is immediately understood
The magnet h of the shell a oscillating with the axis d, itself controlled by the spiral c, drives the magnet of the shell without any contact between the two magnets which attract each other through a partition (not shown), in glass, plastic or other material, however excluding magnetic substances, the magnet h controlling the needle i indicating the temperature by means of the axis g on which it is fixed.
