Dynamo-electric machine The present invention relates to a dynamo-electric machine comprising a rotor comprising a winding, a shaft having an axial hole, and current slip rings mounted on the shaft of the rotor.
In machines such as turbo-generators, the rotor winding conductors must be constructed and arranged so as not not to unbalance the rotor and to resist centrifugal forces. They must also withstand high voltages. In machines cooled by hydrogen and having current-collecting devices external to the tank containing the hydrogen, the conductors shall be sealed in the shaft to prevent hydrogen leakage along the conductors to the outside of the tank. tank and air inlets to the interior.
Heretofore, satisfactory securing of the conductors in the hole in the rotor shaft has required relatively expensive machining operations and difficult assembly. In addition, in hydrogen cooled machines, seal leaks required removal of the rotor shaft for repair or replacement of the seal.
The object of the present invention is to remedy to these drawbacks.
The dynamo-electric machine which is the subject of the invention is characterized in that it comprises a tube of insulating material arranged in the axial hole of the rotor shaft, conductors for connecting the slip rings to < / B> while rolling and arranged longitudinally in the insulating tube, the latter constituting the only insulation between said conductors and the wall of the axial hole, a strip of insulating material being arranged between the conductors and constituting the only insulation separating said conduc teurs.
The appended drawing represents, to by way of example, an embodiment of the machine according to the invention and a variant.
Fig. 1 is an axial section of this embodiment. Fig. 2 is a section through the line INI of FIG. 1.
Fig. 3 shows a variation of the conductor arrangement. The dynamo-electric machine partially represented in FIGS. 1 and 2 is a high speed turbo-generator comprising a rotating shaft 6 extending in a 7 </ B envelope > and supported by bearings not shown.
The envelope 7 is preferably gas-tight and filled with hydrogen used as ventilation gas, On a magnetic core à in notches 8, </ B> which could be in one piece with the shaft, is mounted an excitation winding 9 extending axially, the end turns of which are fixed, in the known manner, by a retaining ring not shown An excitation current source (not shown) supplies the winding 9 by means comprising a current collector device and connections.
The collector device comprises rings 12 and 13 mounted on a sleeve 10 and isolated from the latter, the sleeve being removably mounted on a portion of the shaft < B> on the outside of the casing 7. The connections include 15 and 16 conductors previously assembled and inserted of a block in an axial hole 17 made centrally in the shaft 6. The conductors 15 and 16 </ B > can be bare copper bars.
They are placed in a tube 18 of insulating material and separated from each other by an insulating tape 19. The insulating tube 18 </ B> constitutes the only insulation between the conductors 15, 16 on the one hand and the wall of the hole 17 on the other hand, and the 19 tape constitutes the only insulation between the conductors 15 and 16. The insulation tape 19 extends radially beyond conductors 15 and 16,
its sides engaging at rubbing with the walls of the tube 18 to form along the surface of the tape 19 a wide insulation zone which is effective against relatively high voltages of the order of 3000 to 5000 volts. - The conductors 15 and < B> 16 have cylindrical surfaces applied against the inner surface of the insulating tube 18. These conductors are arranged in the tube 18 so that their flat side is against the insulating tape 19 and their opposite curved surface against the portion of the tube wall 18 remote from the insulating tape 19 and removed
the points of contact of the latter with the tube 18, so as to form along the insulating tube 18 an insulation zone at the less than the insulation area along tape 19, to prevent discharge between conductors 15 and 16. The opposite ends of the tube, 18 are closed by insulating discs 20 and 25. The disc 25, at l The end of the shaft carrying the bushings is held in place by a 32. cover.
The connections include, in addition to the conductors 15 and 16 disposed axially, on the one hand conductors 21 and 22 disposed radially in radial openings formed in the shaft < B> 6 and which open into the axial hole 17 near the rotor winding, and on the other hand the conductors 23 and 24 housed in radial openings made in the shaft at near the rings 12 and 13. The conductors 21 to 24 are connected by steps of screws to conductors 15 and 16. The outer ends of conductors 21 and 22 are connected to the winding of the rotor 9,
and the outer ends of the conductors 23 and 24 are each connected by threads to a hollow pin 45 of a terminal 46.
The conductor 21 has a collar 26, preferably one piece with it. A tube 27 of insulating material tightly surrounds the conductor 21 between the collar 26 and the conductor 15. A tube 28 </ B> of insulating material surrounds the collar 26 and abuts against the wall of the opening. An annular block 29 intended to transmit a thrust is disposed around the driver and rests on the face of the collar 26 remote from the axis of the 'tree. The wall of the radial opening has a 31 clamping ring screwed into the wall. When tight, this ring presses against the thrust block 29 to rigidly fix the conductor 21 in the shaft 6 against a tending centrifugal force to force the conductor radially outwards.
An insulating tube with flange 30 is disposed around the conductor 21 and has a cylindrical portion disposed between the ring 31 and the conductor, the flange covering the ring. A non-conductive elastic part 33 , chemically inactive with respect to oil and hydrogen and unaffected by the temperature of the conductor, is arranged around the conductor 21 and s' presses on the flange of the tube 30. The part 33 constitutes a gasket and is preferably formed of silicone rubber which is an elastic substance maintaining its elasticity to all operating temperatures without shrinking, cracking or deteriorating in any way.
Means are provided for fixing this elastic part by a compression exerted longitudinally relative to the conductor, independent of the pressure applied by the conductor fixing ring 31 . These means comprise an insulating tube with flange 34 disposed around the conductor 21, the flange bu both against the seal. A nut 35 is disposed around the longitudinal portion of the tube 34 and is screwed into the wall of the opening. The nut 35 abuts against the flange of the tube 34 and applies this tightly to the part 33, with a determined pressure, so that this part presses firmly against the metal of the conductor 21 and against the wall of the opening to form a gas-tight seal between these parts.
The insulating tubes 27, 28, 30 and 34, and the thrust block 29 are preferably made of a molded or laminated thermoplastic insulating material, containing mineral materials. resistant to to heat.
The conductor 22 is disposed in a radial opening, diametrically opposed to the conductor 21 and is mounted in the same way as the latter.
The conductors 23 and 24 could be constructed and arranged in the same way as the conductor 21. In the embodiment shown, however, they include a collar 36 surrounded of a tube 37. The tube 37 is a non-conductive elastic part, which does not react chemically with oil or hydrogen, and preferably made made of silicone rubber. It forms a seal between the conductor 23 and the wall of the opening.
A ring 38 of insulating material is arranged around the conductor 23 in the tube 37 and under the neck < B> 36. A thrust transmission block 39 consists of a tube with flange in insulating material arranged around the conductor 23, </ B> the flange resting on the face of the collar 36 away from the axis of the shaft. A steel clamp ring 40 is screwed into the radial opening wall and rests on the shoulder of the block 39. Ring 40 is tightened to hold the conductor 23 </ B> against centrifugal force.
Means for securing the tube 37 in place under axial compression include the clamp ring 40 and a short insulating tube 41 disposed around the block 39 under the ring. 40. The length of the tube 41 is chosen so that when the ring 40 is tightened, it presses against the tube 41 and forces it against the tube 37, to subject this tube 37 to a compressive force less than the force applied against the collar 36. The tube 37 is thus forced into engagement with the outer periphery of the collar 36 and the wall of the opening, so that this tube is compressed to form a gas-tight seal between the conductor 23 and the wall of the opening.
The conductor 23 is cut into a truncated cone to reduce the cross section of its outer radial end 32, in order to reduce the centrifugal force on the conductor. The clamping ring 40 holds the conductor in place against the centrifugal force tending to force it out of the opening, this ring 40 being disposed at the outer radial end of the opening where it cooperates with the insulating block 39 to secure the outer end of the conductor in alignment in the opening. Conductor 24 is constructed and disposed in a manner similar to conductor 23 in a radial opening diametrically opposed to conductor 23.
The conductors 23 and 24 are on the outside of the casing 7 and the joints comprising the tubes 37 are therefore accessible without opening the casing into the atmosphere, while the elastic parts 33, provided for the conductors 21 and 22 are inside the inside of the in veloppe. The seals 37 can be replaced not only without opening the casing 7, but also without removing the shaft 6 or the re-ring. - holding the rotor (not shown).
Fig. 3 shows a variant of the arrangement of the conductors. The conductors 15 and 16 are arranged axially and assembled in an element comprising the insulating tube 18, which is itself arranged in a tube of 'steel 43 intended to be inserted into the axial hole of the shaft 6. The metal tube 43 and the insulating tube 18 have openings radial 1 aligned to receive the radial conductors connecting the axial conductors to the slip rings and to the rotor winding.
The metal tube 43 is used to facilitate the preliminary assembly and to reduce the size of the axial hole, the insulating tube being able to have a smaller thickness than in the previous embodiment.
