Hot air boiler The present invention relates to a hot air boiler.
This boiler is characterized by a parallelepipedal casing inside which are mounted, from bottom to top, the hearth and tube bundles for the passage of hot gases, the space between these elements and the casing being provided for a downward circulation of the air to be heated.
The accompanying drawing represents, by way of example, an embodiment of the boiler according to the invention.
Fig. 1 is an overall perspective view seen from one side.
Fig. 2 is an overall perspective view seen from the other side.
Fig. 3 is a longitudinal section.
Fig. 4 is a front view, front cover removed.
The boiler is externally in the general form of a parallel lélépipédique casing, in which the hearth and the heat exchanger tube bundle are arranged, and which externally carries the burner, the cold air intake device and the chimney. . The envelope is made of assembled sheet elements. The casing of the boiler comprises two longitudinal walls 10 and 11 and two front 12 and rear 13 transverse walls, a lower base 14 and an upper base 15. Between the walls 12 and 13 is mounted an intermediate wall 16.
At the lower part, between the walls 12 and 16, is mounted the hearth 17 consisting of a cylindrical element 18 of metal lined internally with refractory 19. This hearth is closed at the front by a plate 20 on which is fixed the burner 21, preferably fuel oil, with its usual equipment, this burner being carried by the support 22.
The end of the cylindrical body 17, on the side of the plate 16, is open and allows the exit of hot gases or fumes in the space 23 between the walls 16 and 13. This space 23 carries a refractory lining 24. In 25 is provided a safety shutter, articulated at 26.
Above the hearth, between the walls 12 and 16, are mounted two tube bundles 27 and 28. The tubes of the bundles are mandrelated under the walls 12 and 13, preferably so as to have an inclined position. Beam 27 has a downward tilt from front to back, while beam 28 has an upward tilt from front to back. Communication between the beams 27 and 28 is ensured at the front part by a ca pot 29 and manoeuvrable by handles 30. This cover is secured in position on the wall 12 by fastening devices such as 31.
At the rear, the beam 28 opens into a space 32 included between the walls 16 and 13 and separated from the space 23 by a horizontal partition 33. It is on this space 32 that the chimney 34 is mounted.
With this arrangement, the hot gases coming from the combustion in the hearth 17 escape at 23 and, following the path indicated by the arrows, pass through the tube bundle 27, then, after changing direction in the cover 29, pass through the tube furnace 28 to escape at 32 and be discharged through the chimney 34.
The cold air heats up in contact with the tubes 27, 28 and the fireplace in a countercurrent circulation. It is driven from the upper part of the trunk by a propeller 35 with a discharge duct 36. It spreads in the space between the walls 12 and 13 and circulates from top to bottom, this circulation being completed by horizontal baffles 37, 38. The air heated in contact with the tube bundles 27, 28 then licks the wall. exterior of the hearth 17 before leaving through the orifice 39 in a duct or pipe which sends it to the desired right. To improve the heating of the air in contact with the hearth, the outer wall 18 thereof may be lined with longitudinal or transverse fins.
The hot air outlet 39 can be, according to the needs of the installation, provided on the side op posed at the fresh air inlet, or else on the same side; or even two outputs can be provided, one on each side.
The fresh air intake 35 can be placed on one side or the other of the outer box, or even directly on the upper base 15.
As can be seen, the boiler thus constituted forms a compact unit, easy to install.
This boiler can be fitted with the usual additional equipment comprising a relay box with pyrostat and thermostat, ensuring automatic starting and stopping of the burner as well as temperature regulation. The plate 20 can be provided with a shutter 40 and a shutter 41 for admitting air into the fireplace.
