Fluid distribution device intended for filling and emptying a hydraulic coupler Certain mechanical transmissions use the coupling by hydraulic couplers for the drive of geared mechanisms, the filling or emptying of which determines whether in service, or the decommissioning of these gears.
The present invention relates to a positive fluid distribution device, intended for filling and emptying a hydraulic coupler.
This dispensing device is characterized in that it comprises a slide controlling filling and emptying orifices, connected respectively to a pump and to a casing, a drain tube fixed to said drawer and intended to adjust the level of the liquid to inside the coupler, a piston for the control of the drawer and a dash-pot controlling the movement of this control piston, all in such a way that three different positions of the drawer correspond respectively to the emptying of the weeping neck, the filling it and maintaining the level for running the full coupler.
The appended drawing represents, by way of example, an embodiment of the device forming the subject of the present invention.
Fig. 1 is an elevational view of this device. Fig. 2 is a radial section of the device with part of the hydraulic coupler.
Figs. 3, 4 and 5 are cross sections of the device in three different positions.
In the embodiment shown, the fluid distribution device, intended for filling and emptying a hydraulic coupler comprises a spool 1, consisting of a metal plate sliding in a slide of the housing of the coupler shown schematically. in phantom - and showing a. filling orifice 2 and an orifice 3, provided with a drain tube 4. This drawer slides on a glass 5 (fig. 3 to 5) having cells 6 and 7 in communication with the casing and a cell 8, communicating with the delivery of a feed pump (not shown), preferably a centrifugal pump.
Figs. 1 and 2 show the relative position of the spool 1, of the drain tube 4 and of the fluid inlet and return channels (shown in dotted lines in fig. 1).
The spool 1 is fixed to the rod of a control piston 9 movable in a control cylinder and which receives, by a nozzle 10, permanently pressurized fluid (compressed air for example), return on its left face and, by a nozzle 11, fluid under control pressure on its right face.
The piston rod 9 has a bearing surface, intended to move an auxiliary piston 12, frictionally secured on this rod and movable in an auxiliary cylinder 13, extending in the extension of the cylinder of the piston 9.
The cylinder 13 communicates with a discharge port 14, of adjustable section, so as to form a dash-pot controlling the movement of the piston.
The operation of the device described is as follows: In the position shown in FIG. 3, the compressed air sent into the nozzle 11 drives the piston 9, as well as the drawer 1 to the left until the orifice 3 of the drain tube communicates with the cell 6 of the ice; the fluid contained in the casing of the coupler is emptied by following the path indicated by the arrow to return to the casing, the cell 8 in communication with the pump and the cell 7 returning to the casing being closed.
For filling (fig. 4), the compressed air is allowed to escape through the nozzle 11, the piston 9 pushed by the return air entering through the nozzle 10 rapidly assumes the position of FIG. 4 where the bearing of the rod abuts against the piston 12. At this moment, the filling chamber 8 is open- and the drain tube 4 is brought back towards the axis of the coupler, which allows very rapid filling. of the greater part of the coupler, the fluid following the path indicated by the arrows. The adjustment of the section of the orifice 14 makes it possible to make the duration of the second part of the piston stroke coincide with the time of filling the weeping neck.
The start of this race corresponds, in fact, to the coincidence of the opening 2 of the drawer with the cell 8 of the ice. Cells 6 and 7 are sealed.
From the position shown in fig. 4 and as the piston 12 drives the oil out of the cylinder 13, the cell 8 gradually closes while the drain tube 4 reaches its level adjustment position from which its orifice 3 enters. communication with the cell 7 connected to the housing. The travel of the spool 1 is adjusted so that the compartment 8 is not completely blocked and allows a slight compensation flow which allows the progressive exchange of the fluid as it heats up. The excess of this flow is evacuated through the drain tube 4 and the cell 7, as well as the emulsified oil which may be there at the end of filling.
The cylinder 13 empties slowly by swimming at the outlet of the oil it contains, thus slowing down the movement of withdrawal of the spool 1. The cylinder 13 can be filled later when the spool 1 advances, because the reserve placed under the orifice 14 is subjected to the pressure which prevails in the filling channel 8 'leading to the cell 8.
The device described has the advantage of not comprising valves or nozzles at the periphery of the casing of the coupler, nor of a reservoir or even rotating with the coupler. The capacity of the coupler is only slightly increased by the size of the drain tube.
In addition, it is the same device which controls the filling and emptying, but their respective flow is independent.
At the end of filling, the device ensures the circulation of the fluid necessary for the evacuation of the calories and for maintaining the level in the coupler, regardless of the emulsion phenomena which occur there.
