Skeleton packaging
The subject of the invention is a skeleton packaging consisting of a strip of flexible material, such as cardboard, plastic, etc.
This packaging is characterized by at least one zone provided with openings, delimited by transverse folding impressions perpendicular to the edges of the strip and by a succession of transverse folding impressions, parallel to the latter, distributed over the rest of the strip. strip, the whole so as to allow to wrap, by folding, the area provided with openings in the rest of the band which thus constitutes the outer walls of the package, while the area provided with openings constitutes housings ensuring the lateral retention of the objects to be packed.
The accompanying drawing shows, by way of example, two embodiments of the object of the present invention and a variant.
Fig. 1 is a plan view of the first embodiment, showing an unfolded package.
Figs. 2 and 3 are schematic sectional views along X-X of FIG. 1 showing the folded packaging, ready to use.
Fig. 4 is a plan view of the second embodiment showing an unfolded package.
Figs. 5 and 6 are schematic sectional views along Y-Y of FIG. 4 representing the folded packaging, ready to use.
Fig. 7 is a schematic view of a variant of the embodiment - n shown in FIG. 4, also in section along Y-Y of FIG. 4, showing the folded packaging, ready for use.
The packaging shown in fig. 1 to 3 consists of a strip 1 of flexible material such as cardboard, plastic, etc., comprising a zone A, provided with openings 2, delimited by transverse folding indentations 3 which are attached to the edges 4 of the strip. 1 and a succession of transverse folding indentations 5 parallel to the indentations 3, distributed over the rest of the strip 1.
When folding the packaging for use, as shown in fig. 2 and 3, zone A is folded inside the packaging so as to be disposed parallel to the bases 6 of the packaging, the openings 2 then constituting housings for the objects to be packed. It can be seen that this packaging, once closed, will only have two opposite side walls 7 and will have openings on its other two side faces.
This very low cost packaging will be suitable, for example, for the packaging of six eggs, six cups, six bottles, etc .; it can be closed by means of an elastic, a sticky band, a staple, etc., and, if necessary, the zone 8 of the strip can be glued or stapled to the zone 7 which faces it after folding. If it is desired to achieve even more economical packaging, the ends 7 and 8 (see fig. 1) of the strip 1 could be omitted. The shape of the orifices 2 will of course vary depending on the nature of the objects to be packaged, as will the length of the zones 7 of the strip 1.
In the embodiment shown in FIGS. 4 to 6, zone A, provided with openings 2, is replaced by two zones B and C each also provided with openings 2, identical in each zone, but which may be different in zone B, on the one hand, and in zone C, on the other hand. Zones B and C are separated from one another by two folding indentations 9 delimiting a zone 10 allowing them to be superimposed on one another during folding, as shown in FIGS. 5 and 6.
In this second embodiment, the number of lateral retention planes of the objects to be packaged is doubled, which can be advantageous for objects having a partial shoulder shape, and which would risk colliding in the event that they are would only be held in place by a single lateral retention plane, as in the packaging forming the subject of the first embodiment.
The variant of the second embodiment shown in FIG. 7 is formed of two complementary packages intended to be superimposed.
The packaging shown and described can be provided, on their external and internal faces, with decorative or advertising motifs enabling them to be used once opened as display material for the products which they contain.
