Process for control respectively. Control of the DC voltage of a contact rectifier with switching chokes Mechanical rectifiers with switching chokes can be controlled or regulated in three different ways with regard to their voltage. First of all, the level of the three-phase supply voltage can be changed using a step transformer. This open-loop or closed-loop control has the advantage that it only slightly adversely affects the power factor, but it has the disadvantage that, at high powers, step transformers are only designed as step regulators, so that fine control is not possible or difficult.
The second possibility, similar to the grid control of mercury vapor rectifiers, is to delay the switch-on time of a phase. With this possibility, the contact closing times must be shortened with decreasing DC voltage, since with decreasing DC voltage the commutation takes place with larger instantaneous values of the commutation voltage and therefore faster. This possibility has the general disadvantage that the power factor is greatly reduced as the DC voltage decreases.
It also has the particular disadvantage that with decreasing DC voltage, the contacts are not voltage-free when switched on, and that they therefore tend to; fire when switched on. or at least cause material migration. Similar to switching throttles, switching throttles are used against this migration of substances. built-in, which at the moment of switch-on increases the load current for a time of the order of 10-4 sec. delay so that the contact is only loaded with current when it is already closed under full pressure.
It has been shown that these switch-on chokes do not work completely properly in many cases, because it is difficult for various reasons to track the rise in current through a saturation choke for as short a time as 10-4 sec. to delay.
For this reason, a third option has been used, which consists in the fact that the switch-on times of the contacts always coincide with the intersection of the phase voltages that are being replaced, but the transfer of the current to the new phase is delayed by the switching chokes at the moment are more or less negatively pre-excited when switching on,
so that the increase in the load current is delayed in a predetermined manner by the pre-excitation current and the direct voltage can thus be controlled or regulated (so-called magnetic control). This last possibility makes it possible, depending on the size of the switching chokes, to regulate the voltage up to 50, 1 / o or more without the contacts being voltage when switched on, that is, without the risk of material migration. With this control resp.
Control, the contact closure times must be lengthened with decreasing DC voltage, in contrast to the mechanical control method mentioned above, in which the contact closure times have to be shortened with decreasing DC voltage.
In practical operation, extending the contact closing times has the disadvantage that if there is a fault in the three-phase voltage or the counter voltage on the direct current side, there is an increased risk of flashback, since with longer contact time the overlap of the contact closing times of successive contacts, i.e. the The time during which two phases are short-circuited is increased.
If, for example, the pre-excitation current fails completely or partially because the three-phase supply voltage fails or is reduced, the voltage-controlling effect disappears, i.e. the current stage shortly after switching on a phase and the extended contact closing time set for normal, undisturbed operation to be too large, so that there is a risk of flashbacks.
The magnetic Steuerver drive also has the disadvantage that it cannot understeer the DC voltage as far as desired, but rather only by about 30 to 50%, depending on the size of the switching chokes. If the DC voltage is to be reduced further, the mechanical control method, i.e. the time delay of the switch-on times, must be used, since the voltage regulation with the control transformer is also subject to lower limits, which are related to the fact that the reduced AC voltage supplied Levels of the switching throttle may become so large that proper operation is no longer possible.
If the magnetic control method is used in addition to the control transformer, then the magnetic control method must be abandoned for voltage control down to very low DC voltage values and the time delay of the closing times used instead.
According to the invention, the disadvantages mentioned are overcome in that the control of the DC voltage practically at the same time by a step transformer, a time shift of the switch-on points of the contacts and a magne tables influencing the switching chokes he follows. It is advantageous that the step transformer is used to switch the voltage in steps, and that within the steps the control takes place simultaneously by shifting the switch-on times of the contacts and by influencing the switching reactors magnetically.
In exceptional cases, for example when starting up a DC load, can. however, they are also used to regulate the voltage far beyond the level of the regulating transformer to zero. The combination of the two control methods has the advantage that the contact closing times do not need to be extended or extended at all with decreasing DC voltage. It also has the advantage that the magnetic influence of the switching throttle enables a switch-on level to be generated which is reliably sufficient to control the switch-on voltage at the contacts, which increases with increasing mechanical delay in the switch-on times of the contacts, without endangering the contacts through material migration .
In principle it would be possible to do without the step transformer entirely and to cover the entire voltage range with the combination of mechanical and magnetic control; However, this has the disadvantage that the power factor of the system becomes too small at low voltages. It also has the disadvantage that direct voltage and direct current would contain a relatively large number of harmonics, and that with a small counter voltage, the contacts have to switch on relatively high voltages.
However, if the combination of mechanical and magnetic control is essentially limited to the step range of a control transformer, for example to 10 lo of the nominal voltage, then the power factor remains bearable, the harmonics are still small and the switch-on voltage at the contacts too in the case of high DC voltages, so small that it can be safely controlled. The idea of the invention is particularly suitable for six-phase bridge circuits in which the switch-on voltage at the contacts is already quite small in itself with a mechanical delay in the contact closure times.
With this circuit, rectifiers for voltages above 400 V can also be built using the inventive concept. The magnetic influence of the switching chokes occurs most simply by a pre-excitation current. So that this current does not have any undesirable effects at the moment the contact is opened, it must be as zero as possible at this point in time. This means that the pre-excitation current deviates from the sinusoidal shape, namely must itself have currentless steps.
Such a current can be generated by introducing saturation chokes in the pre-excitation circuit. The magnetic influence of the switching chokes, - that is to say the influence of their magnetization at the switch-on point of the main contacts, can then take place through the fact that the size of the stepped pre-excitation current z. B. is changed by an adjustable inductance.
Compared to regulating the current through resistors, this has the advantage that fewer losses occur and that an inductance can be regulated without parts sliding mechanically on one another (such as sliding resistors or collectors), for example by using two coils that are spatially opposed to one another be twisted. The adjustment of this controllable inductance can be mechanically coupled with the adjustment of the phase position of the drive for the contacts, for example the drive motor itself or a phase rotator connected in front of it.
This coupling can take place in various ways, for example in such a way that the contact closing time can remain unchanged within the level of the Uegelumspanners. This is achieved through an appropriate coupling of the two control methods in such a way that the extension of the contact closing time that the magnetic control entails is just canceled out by the shortening of the contact closing time that the mechanical control requires. However, it is not necessary to couple the two control methods with one another in such a way that the contact closing times can remain constant.
Rather, the contact closure periods can also be set at the same time as the regulation or they can be adjusted to the most favorable values by a self-acting facility. The coupling of the two control methods can also take place in such a way that the voltage regulation takes place depending on the mechanical rotation angle of the contact drive with an approximately constant regulating speed, which means that a proportional voltage change belongs to each rotation angle of the drive. In this case, control and regulation tasks can be fulfilled most precisely and most reliably.
The three elements of the invention can be connected to one another in such a way that the switching of the stages of the regulating transformer takes place automatically when the two other regulating methods coupled to one another exceed a certain limit of the voltage regulation.
In this way a rectifier is obtained; to regulate the voltage down to zero. and which, depending on the circumstances, automatically executes about half of this regulation through the control transformer, while the other half takes place through the combination of the other two control methods, with a maximum of operational reliability with regard to short overlapping of the contact closing times and less A switching voltage of the contacts has been reached.
If a regulator is used, instead of regulating the contact closing times, it can also be used to automatically adjust either the magnetic or the mechanical adjustment of the drive of the contacts, if the other control option is carried out manually or by a load regulator. The invention has a particular advantage for such scarf lines in which the switching throttles are traversed by alternating current, in which the effort for the switching throttles is relatively small.
These circuits have the disadvantage that, under certain circumstances, the magnetic control alone cannot easily be used within wide limits, since the time to influence the magnetization state of the switching reactors is short.
In these cases, the combination of the different control methods according to the invention has the advantage that the magnetic control of the switching throttles can be fully utilized, since the delay in the switch-on time, as is the case with the mechanical control method, results in the time to Influence of the magnetization state of the switching chokes. increases.
The advantage of the invention is ultimately based on the fact that the main switching throttle is used as a switching throttle when the DC voltage is reduced, but the switch-on stage can be ten times or even greater than with the previously common switching throttles. The switch-on stage increases with the sole use of the magnetic influence of the switching throttles with decreasing DC voltage, while it decreased with the previously common switching throttles with decreasing DC voltage and therefore became so short that it was no longer sufficient.
The coupling of the magnetic and mechanical control method can be set to medium ratios so that it can be maintained unchanged when the voltage of the regulating transformer changes. This is particularly permissible if the stages of the switching throttle are chosen to be relatively large, so that small deviations from the ideal coupling of the two control methods can be permitted.
The extension of the contact closing times, which is necessary when the voltage is reduced with the control transformer, can then be carried out by a special manual intervention or automatically, without anything being changed in the coupling of the other two control methods. This leads to particularly simple variable speed drives.
In some cases it will be possible, when using the inventive concept, to get by with contact devices whose contact closing times cannot be changed at all. Such contact devices are distinguished by their particular simplicity. If they are used, according to the invention, the three elements of the invention can be combined with one another in such a way that one and the same contact closing time can be managed in all operating states and with all DC voltages.
In the drawing, the invention is cally tert erläu using an embodiment. 1, 2, 3 are the secondary windings of a rectifier converter in a six-phase bridge circuit, 4, 5, 6 are the switching throttles, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12 are the contacts, 13 the drive motor for the contacts. 14 is the primary winding of the rectifier converter, which is connected to a three-phase network U, V, W via a step transformer 15. The synchronous motor 13 is fed via a rotary transformer 14 '.
The switching throttle 4 (5, 6) has a pre-exciter winding 15 ', the feed circuit of which is not shown, and a pre-exciter winding 16 which is used for regulation. The winding 16 is fed via a saturable inductor 17 and a controllable inductance 18. 19, 20 and 21 are bypasses which, in conjunction with the switching reactors, enable the contacts to open without arcing.
According to the invention, the rotary transformer 14 'and the controllable inductance 18 are primarily used simultaneously to increase or regulate the direct voltage. These two devices can be adjusted by a controller, where they can be mechanically coupled to one another. Each control element can also be operated by a controller.
The step transformer 15 grows with the performance of the rectifier: it is therefore costly, while the .Regelorgane 14 '. and 18 only for the small drive power of the Syn chronmotors 13 or to supply the pre-exciter winding 16 need to be designed. The basic idea of the invention, namely the three ways of voltage control with the rotary transformer 14 '(mechanical adjustment), with the rule inductance 18 (magnetic control) and with the step transformer 15 practically at the same time in a certain way, is shown in the drawing the dotted line 22 indicated schematically.
Instead of the rotary transformer 14 ', the stator of the drive motor 13 or some other mechanical or electrical device that shifts the switching times ver can be used.
