Bushing insulator The present invention relates to a bushing insulator which differs from known bushing insulators by the fact that it has a molded body in a polymerized insulating synthetic material provided with an axial channel whose wall consists of the internal surface of a metal electrode, the external surface of which of this electrode being adherent to the material of the body.
The appended drawing shows schematically and by way of example an embodiment of a feedthrough insulator according to the invention.
Fig. 1 is an exterior view. Fig. 2 is a top view.
Fig. 3 is a bottom view. e Fig. 4 is a sectional view along the line IV-IV of FIG. 5.
Fig. 5 is a longitudinal sectional view on a larger scale, taken along the line V-V of FIG. 3.
According to the appended drawing, the feed insulator comprises a body 1 molded from a polymerized synthetic insulating material. This body 1, of generally cylindrical shape, has an axial channel 2, the wall 3 of which is formed by the internal surface of an electrode 4 formed by a metal cylinder. The insulating material of the body 1 adheres to the outer surface 5 of the electrode 4. A second electrode 6, consisting of a metal cylinder whose two ends are rolled, is embedded in the insulating material of the body 1, and electrically connected ment by a tab 7 to one of four fixing members 8 partially embedded in the insulating material of the body 1.
A conductor 9 passes through the axial channel and carries two stops 10 and 11 fixed rigidly by means of pins 12. The stop 10 is applied to a cover 13 by a spring washer 14 clamped between the stop 11 and a cover 15. Finally, an arcuate metal sheet 16 is slid between the conductor 9 and the electrode 4, so as to bear resiliently on the electrode 4 by its two ends, and on the conductor 9 by its middle part. This metal foil therefore electrically connects the conductor 9 to the electrode 4.
The operation of the feedthrough insulator described is similar to that of known insulators. It is fixed on a metal part using the fasteners 8. However, its cost price is much lower and its manufacture much easier than a feedthrough insulator whose body is made up of impregnated papers, rolled in successive layers.
In fact, by injecting a synthetic material into a mold carrying the fasteners and the electrodes 4 and 6, it is easily possible to obtain a feedthrough insulator whose body has come from a workpiece with the electrodes and the electrodes. fasteners. The molding of such an insulator body is very easy, since it suffices to degrease the external face 5 of the electrode 4, in order to obtain good adhesion of the synthetic material on this surface and to lubricate the on the internal face 3 to prevent this synthetic material from adhering to this wall 3.
In addition, it is advantageous to choose for this electrode 4 a metal whose coefficient of expansion is approximately the same, or in any case of the same order of magnitude, as that of the insulating synthetic material of the body 1. Thus , it is avoided that overheating and temperature changes cause excessive voltages between the electrode and the material of the body 1, which could be the cause of detachment of this electrode. In addition, to avoid tearing of this electrode, it is advantageous to choose a metal having good elasticity.
The electrode 4 adhering completely and over its entire external surface 5 to the material of the body 1, ensures perfect distribution of the electric field. In addition, the body 1 molded from a synthetic material of known type which, after polymerization, acquires very good electrical and mechanical qualities, practically unbreakable, waterproof, resistant to bad weather and to the action of oils. mineral, makes it possible to produce an insulator which can be used both for indoor and outdoor installations. Its handling is easy as well as its installation, which does not require any particular precaution, as is the case for feedthrough insulators made from impregnated rolled papers.
It goes without saying that the length of the body 1 is variable depending on the operating voltage and that one or more intermediate electrodes, arranged between the electrodes 4 and 6, can be embedded in the material of the body 1.
