Fig. 2 einen Sebnitt nach der Linie II-II in Fig. 1.
Diagnostic listening and knocking device
The present invention relates to a medical device which is suitable for examining the human body both by auscultation and by percussion.
The known listening devices of the phonendoscope type have a sound lamp, on the rear wall of which there are two rigid, vertically protruding connection organs, with which the flexible ear tubes are connected. The space taken up by these connection organs forms in many cases a serious obstacle to the listening of patients whose state of health requires absolutely immobile storage.
Although certain phonendoscopes have a peripheral branching tube connection, it is necessary to grasp these devices by hand when handling them, the space occupied by the hand causing the same unfavorable obstacles. Phonendoscopes are also known which have means for regulating the acoustic properties of the acoustic chamber, but these means never always ensure indisputable results and are mostly provided in a position in which they cause the same disadvantages mentioned above. In addition, harmful visual effects on the sound chamber arise from the hand grasping the device.
On the other hand, the knocking hammer forms a separate element of a doctor's equipment, which, because it causes an undesirable occupancy of space in the otherwise very occupied space of a device bag, is often not included, which can have undesirable consequences.
The present invention overcomes these disadvantages.
The subject of the invention is a diagnostic Behorehungs- and knocking device, which is characterized in that its sound chamber, which is recessed in a device body and closed by a vibration membrane, is connected to a rigid, tubular handle protruding radially from this, the end of which is in two pipes intended for stiffening the hearing tubes branches off, the edge of the device body containing the sound chamber being provided with a border made of flexible material.
This device can be used both for listening as well as for knocking on a body, and it is designed in such a way that a two-dimensional sound insulation of the sound chamber both with regard to the hand grasping the device and with regard to other external influences for the purpose of improvement sound monitoring is secured.
This device makes it possible to listen to parts of the body of an immobile patient that are not accessible to other listening devices.
Means for regulating the sound absorption and transmission of this device can also be provided. These means can be designed in such a way that part of them can be used to examine the sensitivity of the skin and the reflexes of a patient related to it.
An example embodiment of the subject matter of the invention is shown in the drawing. Show it :
Fig. 1 shows a longitudinal section through a diagnostic Behorehungs- and knocking device and
FIG. 2 shows a section along the line II-II in FIG. 1.
The circular device body is designated by 1, in which a circular recess 2 is provided which forms the sound chamber 2. The front part of the edge of the device body 1 has a thread 3 for screwing on a ring 4 which serves to hold a vibration membrane 5 in contact with the edge of the front part of the device body 1. The rear part of the device body 1 has an annular groove for receiving a ring 7 made of rubber or other elastic material. This ring 7 is intended, on the one hand, to provide acoustic insulation for the sound chamber 2 when the device is used for auscultation and, on the other hand, to form a damper when the device is used for percussion.
The Sehallkammer 2 is connected to two channels 9 and 10 by an axial bore 8. A rigid, tubular handle 11 is connected to the channel 9 and forms a rigid pipe connection. A screw 1 @ with a needle-like end is screwed into the outer opening of the other channel 10, on the shaft of which a surface 12 'is ground and the head 13 of which has suitable knurling. The handle 11, which is slightly curved, so that when the device body 1 is pressed against the part of the patient's body to be monitored it gains a distance from the patient's body that is sufficient for handling the device.
A tube 14 is plugged onto the end of the handle 11 and forks into two tubes 15 and 16, which are intended for attaching the hearing hoses, not shown in the drawing. The ring 7 has two radially directed holes through which the handle 11 and the screw 12 go.
The mode of operation of this device is as follows:
The eavesdropper takes the handle 11 and brings the device body 1 into the area of the place to be eavesdropped on the patient's body, which is possible thanks to the design of the device. The sound is absorbed in a known manner by the membrane 5, which transmits the vibrations to the air in the Sehallkammer @, from where @ie are passed through the bore 8 and the channel 9 and the handle 11 into the tube 14.
In doing so, all influences caused by the eavesdropper's hand are avoided, since the handle 11 is sufficiently long to avoid touching the flexible horsehoses, not shown in the drawing, and thereby prevent disturbances. The device can also be grasped by the ring 7, whereby, thanks to the sound-isolating effect of this ring 7, interfering disturbances are avoided.
The control of the sound transmission is achieved in that, for. B. with the thumb of the hand grasping the handle 11, the screw 12 is more or less screwed in or out. By screwing in or unscrewing the screw 12 in this way, the space between the surface 12 'and the channel 10 and thus the connection of the air in the acoustic chamber 2 with the non-vibrating outside air is changed, and the sound absorption and sound transmission of the device can thus be regulated will.
When using the Ge device described for percussion, the ring 7 serves as a shock absorber. The dimensions and construction materials of the device are chosen so that the device has a weight that is suitable for a percussion hammer.
The screw 12 can be completely unscrewed from the fanal 10 and then forms, with its needle-like end, a useful instrument for examining the sensitivity of the skin and the reflexes of a patient.
The channels 9 and 10 can also exit directly from the sound chamber 2, in which case the bore 8 is necessary.
The device body 1 can also be built on from two or more parts that are detachably connected to one another.
PATENT CLAIMS Diagnostic hearing and knocking device, characterized in that its sound chamber, which is recessed in a device body and closed by a vibration membrane, is connected to a rigid, tubular handle protruding radially from the latter, the end of which is intended to be used for attaching the ear hoses Pipes branches off, with the edge of the device body containing the sound chamber being provided with an enclosure made of a sewable material.
