Description
Process for the production of machine parts subjected to sliding friction,. In particular, cylinder liners It is known to use special cast iron alloys for parts subject to sliding friction, such as cylinder liner. Attempts have also been made to extend the service life of such parts by increasing the hardness on the sliding surfaces.
The subject matter of the present invention is a method which makes it possible to produce particularly high-quality parts of this type. According to the invention, iron-carbon alloys which contain 0.8 to 3.01 / o C, 0.1 to 1, 50 / a Al, 0.2 to 31 / o Al are made by hot working the parts made,
which is cooled down accelerated from temperatures above the A3 transformation and tempered for the re-precipitation of graphite, and then nitrided on the sliding surfaces. The machining is preferably carried out between the annealing and the nitriding, since the steel then behaves roughly like a free-cutting steel.
The accelerated cooling from temperatures above the A3 conversion is preferably carried out in air or oil.
After nitriding, the surface hardness is at least 750 Vickers units. The nitride layer is extremely resistant, it does not crumble, and. In addition to high wear resistance, the parts have good sliding properties, in particular emergency running properties. The good running and wear properties are effective.
look particularly at cylinder liners, e.g. B. for diesel engines, worm wheels, guide strips, spinning rings and the like.
The alloys subject to the mz process can also contain the following components: 0.8 to 3.01 / 0 C 1 up to 1.5% Mn 0.2 to 2% Si 0,
2 to 3% Al The aforementioned alloy groups can also be alloyed with molybdenum or Vanachn to increase the strength or yield strength.
