The present invention relates to a die-casting machine which aims to enable the complete and rapid cleaning of the injection cylinder, the casting channels and the impressions of the mold, as well as the ejection. , all operations particularly difficult in the case of ferrous metals.
The machine comprising a vertical injection cylinder, supplied directly with molten metal, passing through the upper part of the mold which is in two parts separated by a horizontal joint, is, according to the invention, characterized in that said cylinder d vertical injection is open at its two ends and consists of two elementary cylinders, respectively integral with the upper half and the lower half of the mold, coaxial, of the same internal diameter, and communicating with the impressions of the mold by channels of radial feeds made in the seal of the mold, intended to receive two opposed pistons capable of being moved along their common axis and of exceeding the joint plane of the half-molds and the planes of the respective outer faces thereof.
The appended drawing represents, by way of example, an embodiment of the object of the invention. Fig. 1 shows, in section, the closed mold, before injection, the liquid metal being introduced into the cylinder.
Fig. 2 shows, in section, the closed mold, the injection having been completed.
Fig. 3 shows, in section, the mold opened at the stage of extraction of the solidified casting.
As seen in the drawing, the mold consists of two parts: an upper half-mold 1 and a lower half-mold 2, bearing contiguously one on top of the other, following a horizontal joint 3, flat or not .
In the half-molds 1 and 2, imprints such as 24 are formed, distributed around the vertical axis of the mold and shown in section along an axial vertical plane.
In the half-mold 1 is embedded an injection cylinder 25, descending to the seal 3, and extended above the upper face of the half-mold 1; in the half-mold 2 is embedded another cylinder 26, starting from the parting line and limited or not to the underside of the half-mold 2. The two cylinders 25 and 26 are coaxial and have the same internal diameter. A shutter piston 27, mounted on a rod 27 ', is capable of being moved in the cylinder 26 and up to the cylinder 25, and a piston 28, mounted on a rod 29 is capable of being moved in the cylinder 25. and up to the cylinder 26. The piston 27 and the rod 27 are assembled by an instant locking coupling device of known type (not shown). The same applies to piston 28 and rod 29.
The impressions 24 are connected to the injection cylinder 25 by radial casting channels 31 radiating around the cylinder 25, these channels being cut in the upper face of the seal 3, so that the release of the metal, solidified in the impressions 24 and forming parts 33, is carried out integrally with that of the metal solidified in the channels 31 forming the weights 34, and that of a common base 35, this assembly forming what, in technical language, is called a cluster . In the position of FIG. 1 which represents the stage of pouring the molten metal, the piston 27 protrudes upwards from the plane of the seal 3.
The piston 28, connected to its rod 29, has come out of the cylinder 25 and completely disengages the upper orifice; the piston 27 closes the orifices of the casting channels 31; the molten metal 32 is poured into the cylinder 25. In the position of FIG. 2 which represents the die-casting stage, the shutter piston 27 has been brought down, below the seal 3, the piston 28 has been driven down into the cylinder 25 and discharged into the indentations 24 from the mold the molten metal, to form the parts 33.
In the position of FIG. 3 which represents the extraction stage, the cluster of cast parts is solidified, the two half-molds 1 and 2 are separated and separated. The piston 27 is re-mounted upwards at the limit of its stroke, which causes the ejection of the parts 33 for mant cluster, with the weights 34 and the batch 35, out of the lower half-mold 2. The pis ton 28 continued its downward movement beyond the lower surface of the upper half-mold 1 and caused the peel and ejection of the base and parts 33 from the upper half-mold 1.
Fig. 3 represents the mold at this stage of operations.
The assembly continuing to open, the two pistons move apart and completely free the cluster of parts 33 until then pinched by means of the base 35 between the two pis tons.
The return of the piston 28 to the position shown in FIG. 1 is facilitated by the separation of the piston 28 and the rod 29, by the opening of their locking device.
