Fig. 5 zeigt eine weitere Variante des be schriebenen Beispiel#s.
Pump unit with compressed air turbine drive The subject of the present invention is a pump unit with dräckluftgetrie # bener turbine, which in operation in a liquid, -, speed, z. B. a volatile fuel is immersed.
In turbines of this type, the temperature of the air supplied to the turbine is normally higher than the temperature of the liquid in which the turbine is immersed. Since it is necessary to supply the compressed air through the liquid to the turbine submerged in it, heat is normally transferred from the compressed air to the liquid. However, such a heat transfer is undesirable, and the present invention aims to create an aggregate in which such a heat transfer can be reduced or avoided.
To achieve this purpose, the present invention is based on the fact that the air used to drive the turbine is cooler after the expansion than the compressed air flowing through the turbine 7, -Listr.8.
The pitch unit according to the invention with a forced-air turbine drive is characterized in that the air outlet line of the turbine is designed as a jacket surrounding the turbine rotor.
c An exemplary embodiment of the turbine 2 according to the invention, as well as some variants of this example, are shown in the accompanying drawing; it shows:
FIG. 1 shows a section through the turbine and part of a slurry driven by the latter, FIG. 2 shows a plan view of FIG. 1 and FIG 3 is a side view of FIG. 2, FIG. 4 is a top view of a first variant, and FIG. 5 is a side view of a second variant of the variant shown in FIG. 1 B> to 3 and P-Lunpe shown.
The drawn turbine is used to drive a fuel pump, as shown, for example, in Fig. 3 of Swiss Patent No. 293230. The turbine replaces the electric motor shown there and is used to drive the pump shaft 14; the drive the pump shaft is driven by the gear wheels 52, 56, and the axis of rotation of the turbine is normally horizontal. The turbine 100 is axially traversed by the drive air, specifically in the direction towards the pump.
The turbine has a set of inlet nozzles (not shown) which feed the supply air to the rotor blades 102 of a first rotor disk 103. Adjacent to the rotor blades 102, a ring of stator blades 104 is provided, which the air is supplied to the blades 106 of a second rotor disk 105 of the turbine.
An annular space 110 is created on the turbine housing, which leads to the inlet nozzles and is connected to an axially directed inlet 111 . The inlet 111 is provided on the side of the turbine rotor facing away from the pump.
A pipe bend 112 opens into the inlet 111, which is fastened to a connecting piece 113 for fastening the turbine to the bottom of a fuel tank and for connecting an air supply line 114. At the outlet end of the turbine, an annular space 115 is created on the turbine housing for the exhaust air.
Through this space 115 the exhaust air is diverted by 1800 into a jacket duct 116 , -which jacket duct is the turbine rotor and the air inlet space, 1.10 surrounds. This jacket channel 116 leads to an outlet pipe bend 117 which - encloses the inlet pipe bend 112 and - by means of the named connection piece 113 a flange is connected.
On this connection piece 113 the outlet pipe elbow 117 has a lateral extension 117a "which is connected to a separate outlet line 113 via the connection piece 113 B> 1.18 is connected outside the tank - This arrangement ensures that the hot supply air is separated from the fuel in the tank by a jacket of cooler exhaust air.
The turbine is provided with a regulator and a control element. In the drawn example, a piston valve 120 is seen in front of which mencooperates with openings 121 to control the supply air flow. The controller has flyweights, 122, which are true, via a two-part operating rod for the axial displacement of the Kelbenschieber. The actuating rod leads through the shaft of the turbine rotor, the rod part 123 being rotatably connected to the rotor. The other rod part 124 of the actuating rod is arranged in a non-rotating manner; A ball bearing 125 which can absorb shear forces is arranged between the two rod parts.
A spring 126 loads the piston slide 120 against the action of the centrifugal force 122.
In the variant of the unit described shown in FIG. 4, the pipe elbows 112 and 117 are replaced by a connecting piece 130, by means of which an inner air inlet pipe is axially separated from the inlet > 111 leads away to an air inlet connection piece 131 , while a jacket tube surrounding the air inlet tube opens into an outlet lug 1.32 .
In the variant shown, the connection piece is 130 Y-shaped, but it could also have a T-shape. The connection piece is outside the tank: 134, the inlet side of the turbine housing protruding through an opening in a cover plate 133 which closes off an opening in a side wall of the tank.
Fig. 5 shows a further variant of the example # s described. Here the elbows 112 and, 117 through two are straight. flexible pipe sections 140 and 14.1 replaced. The pipe section 140 forms the inlet pipe, while the pipe section 141 forms the outlet pipe. The unit shown here is carried by a plate 142 which closes an opening in the bottom 143 of the tank.
The pump units described are suitable, for example, as fuel feed pumps which are immersed in the fuel of a fuel tank of an aircraft driven by a jet engine. The compressed air used to drive the turbine is then expediently taken from the jet engine and can have a temperature of, for example, 20011 C and more. It is therefore particularly important to avoid, as far as is practically possible, that heat is transferred from the supply air to the fuel.
