Pressluftspannfutter.
Compressed air chucks. The present invention relates to a compressed air chuck in which the stroke of the compressed air piston causes a Radialkon traction or dilation of a conical collet seated in a conical sleeve. The compressed air chuck according to the invention differs from known compressed air chucks of this type in that a ring of balls is arranged in a ring wedge which opens radially outward and is surrounded by an axially displaceable pressure ring which is in operative connection with the compressed air piston and is provided on the inside with an inclined surface formed by a conical recess,
on which the balls rest on the outside of the rim, one flank of the ring keyway being arranged on a fixed abutment and the other flank of the ring keyway being arranged on a clamping sleeve which has an axially displaceable part, the whole thing in such a way that during the working stroke of the compressed air piston the balls are driven deeper into the annular keyway through the inclined surface of the co-displacing Druckrin ges and thereby the mentioned part of the clamping sleeve is moved axially with simultaneous radial con traction of the collet.
The drawing shows three exemplary embodiments of the subject matter of the invention, namely: FIG. 1 shows a first embodiment of the compressed air chuck partly in view and partly in axial section, FIGS. 2 and 3 each have an aixal section through a second and third embodiment of the compressed air chuck , whereby in the second example the chuck is provided with a Jacobs rubber collet and in the third example with a Schäublin collet.
The first embodiment shows the compressed air chuck in connection with a so-called Jacobs rubber collet. The compressed air chuck has a two-part chuck housing. Serving as a foot part 12 of the chuck housing is provided with an annular groove 25 concentric to its axis, -in which an annular compressed air piston 4 is arranged. This acts on a pressure ring 3, guided axially displaceably in the chuck housing, under the action of springs 16, which is held in contact with the compressed air piston 4 by springs 16. The pressure ring 3 is. provided on its inside with a conical recess forming an inclined surface 5.
In an annular keyway 1 that opens radially outward, a ring of balls 2 is arranged, which rest on the outside of the conical bore forming the inclined surface 5. One flank 6 of the annular keyway 1 is arranged on a fixed annular abutment 7 supported in the chuck housing and the other flank $ on an axially displaceable clamping sleeve part 9 in the chuck housing. In the foot 12 of the chuck housing four bores 17 parallel to the chuck axis are provided in which four springs 18 are angeord net, which hold the clamping sleeve part 9 in contact with the ball ring 2.
In one of these holes 17 also engages a pin 19 anchored in the clamping sleeve part 9, through which the clamping sleeve part 9 is secured against rotation over the chuck housing. In the axial bore of the ring-shaped abutment 7 is a cover formed from clamping sleeve part 9 'is guided axially displaceable bar. 20 is a sealing ring which is inserted into an annular groove in the guide bore of the abutment 7. The clamping sleeve part 9 'is axially adjustable by means of an internal thread on a threaded neck 13 of the clamping sleeve part 9. In an axial threaded hole of the chuck housing foot 12 of the clamping sleeve part 10 is rigid, but fastened be replaceable. The conical bore of the clamping sleeve part 10 serves as a bed for the collet 11.
Two opposing grooves 21 at the lower end of the clamping sleeve part 10 are used to attach a key for the purpose of loosening and replacing the clamping sleeve part 10.
The compressed air supply for the actuation of the piston 4 is valve-controlled by a hand or foot valve, which is attached to the machine at a suitable point. During the working stroke of the piston 4 (upward movement in Fig. 1), the inner cone 5 acts from the outside on the ball ring 2, whereby the water decreases in the pitch circle diameter with simultaneous axial expansion of the annular keyway the movable clamping sleeves part 9, 9 ' against the action of the springs 18 against the foot 12 of the Spannfuttergehäu ses moves and thereby the collet 11 to bring about the necessary for the frictional connection of the tool radial contraction in the conical bed of the Spannhül senteils 10 moves accordingly. After screwing off the cover 9 ', the collet 11 can be exchanged for such a larger or smaller format.
By rotating the cover 9 'resting on the face of the collet, the inside diameter of the collet can be changed within certain limits.
In the compressed air chucks according to FIGS. 2 and 3, an annular keyway 1 that opens radially outward is provided in which a ring of balls 2 is arranged: The ball ring rests with the ring on the outside on the inclined surface 5 of a pressure ring 3 formed by an inner cone . The dirt ring 3 is axially displaceably mounted in a suitable guide of the chuck housing and is on the one hand under the action of an annular compressed air piston 4 mounted in an annular groove 25 of the chuck housing foot 12 and on the other hand under the action of several compressed air pistons counteracting compression springs 16. 21 is the in the annular groove 25 of the compressed air piston leading connection piece for the compressed air line.
One flank 6 of the ring keyway 1 is arranged on a fixed annular abutment 7 pressed onto the base part 12, while the other flank 8 is seated on a clamping sleeve part 9 that is axially displaceable in the chuck housing. With the clamping sleeve part 9, another clamping sleeve part 9 'is firmly connected, which is provided at its inner end with a threaded bore 13'. In an annular groove between the clamping sleeve parts 9, 9 ', a compression spring 18 is arranged, which holds the clamping sleeve part 9 with its flank 8 in contact with the ball ring 2. A clamping sleeve part 10 serving with a conical bed for receiving the collet chucks 11 or 11 'is screwed into the threaded bore 13' of the clamping sleeve part 9 '.
The latter is provided with a groove 22 in which a cross bar 23 fastened to the base part 12 of the chuck housing engages and thereby secures the clamping sleeve part 10 against rotation in the housing base 12. The clamping sleeve part 9 is provided on its circumference finitely radial bores 14 and ge equips in the area of a radial slot 6 of the chuck housing the insertion of an insert handle 15 into one of the bores 14, for the purpose of rotating the interconnected clamping sleeve parts 9, 9 'in one or the other direction of rotation.
By rotating the clamping sleeve parts 9, 9 'an axial displacement of the clamping sleeve part 10 relative to the clamping sleeve parts 9, 9' is achieved. A cover 27 is screwed into an upper opening of the chuck housing Publ, against which the front face of the collet rests. If the action of the piston 4, the Spannhül sen 9, 9 'and 10 to be moved against the cover 27, the collet is pushed axially into the conical bed of the clamping sleeve part 10 under Einwir effect of the cover 27 with simultaneous ra dialer contraction.
The adjustability of the span of the collet by means of the handle 15 serves to approximate the adjustment of the clamping opening of the collet to the shaft diameter of the tool to be clamped, while the further contraction until the tool is clamped takes place by actuating the compressed air piston.
To replace the collet, the cover 27 is unscrewed, after which the collet can be pushed out and the clamping sleeve part 10 can be unscrewed.
The compressed air chucks described guarantee that the tools can be clamped and released quickly. The power transmission via the ball ring and the inclined surfaces and the annular keyway enables a very high clamping pressure on the collet with relatively low compressed air pressure.
The compressed air chucks shown, which can be used as clamping elements for series work on drilling and milling machines and for assembly purposes, are designed so that either a normal Schäublin collet 11 'or a Jacobs rubber collet 11 can be used. Only the bearing bed for the desired collet has to be exchanged.
