Ski carriers for motor cars. The subject of the invention is a ski carrier for motor cars comprising a support intended to to be fixed to the edges of the cover of the rear trunk and having tabs in the form of hooks, of which. the thickness is such that said tabs can be inserted between the edges of said cover and the trunk, which avoids drilling the sheet metal of the bodywork, characterized in that said shaped tabs (the hooks are connected between they by straps matching the shape of said cover, each of said legs being.
connected to the corresponding strap by a tensioner of the tines to to ensure the rigidity of the whole.
The accompanying drawing shows to by way of example, -, me embodiment of the ski rack, object of the invention.
Fig. 1 is a plan view. Fig. 2 is a side view.
Las fig. 3 to 9, larger scale, show details.
The ski carrier has four brackets 1, 2, 3, 4, in the form of hooks; the lower legs 2 and 4 are integral with rigid blades 5, 6, on which the lower frame of the sIds holder is fixed. Said frame is constituted by an elbow tube 7 fixed to the blade 5 in 8 and passing a through two holes made in pa lier-, 9, 10, themselves fixed to blade 5; a ba quet 11, integral with the tube 7 has housings in which come. land on the skis.
The tube, neck 7 is also fixed to the blade 6 in 12, 13 and 14 and carries the bucket 15. The upper legs 1 and 3 are integral with a frame in bent tube 16 </ B> on which are attached rings used to to attach the skis. The tab 1 is connected to, the blade 5 by a strap 17 comprising, to </ B> its lower part, a hole 18, in which is hooked a stud 19 fixed to the blade 5; < / B> the strap 17 is terminated, at its upper part, by a bolt 20 passing through through a hole made in the bearing 21 of the tab 1; a nut 22 is screwed on the bolt 20 and causes the strap to be tensioned 17 by applying it strongly to the surface of the rear trunk lid 2Ô .
A strip of compressible material 17a, such as rubber, is interposed between the tab 17 and the cover to protect the latter from scratching. Likewise, the connection between the tabs 3 and 4 is made by the strap 24 comprising a hole 25, in which a stud is hooked 26 fixed to the blade 6, and terminated by a bolt 27 passing to through to the bearing 28 of the bracket 3 and tightened by the nut 29.
Figs. 3 to 9 show construction details - different parts of the ski rack.
Figs. 3, 4 and 5 are respectively elevation, plan and profile views of the leg 1; this leg consists of a blade 30 profiled to which is fixed a bearing 21; the blade 30 fits the edge 31 of the trunk lid, as shown in fig. 5, in which the sheet of the cover is shown in section; a sheet 32, in compres, sible, est. interposed between the blade 30 and the cover so to avoid scratches on said cover.
Tier 21 is. pierced with a hole 33 with conical edges -in which engages the head 34 forming a ball of a articulation device 35 shown in detail in FIG. 6 and 7. Said device comprises a base 35z, mounted on a bearing 35b pierced with a hole 36; < / B> said bearing is intended to maintain and fix the frame 16 (fig. 1 and 2 ) which comprises, to this effect, at its two ends, - washers 16., 16b s' pressing against the bearings 35b and tightened against the said bearings by bolts and nuts.
Fig. 6 shows the position of a washer 16b, shown in broken lines, with respect to a-Li bearing ô5b; in order to ensure the locking, in the various relative positions of the bearings and washers, recessed and raised notches 38, 38., are provided respectively in said bearings and washers. The purpose of this articulation device is to allow different inclinations of the 16 frame in relation to the rear trunk.
The head 34 (fig. 6 and 7) comprises a spherical part which presses on the edges of the conical hole âÔ of the bearing 21, shown in section in FIG. 7, so to form the patella and to allow the legs 1 to take different positions relative to the device articulation 35; the legs can thus adapt to trunk covers which frequently have curved shapes. The articulation device 35 has a hole 37 passing through the head 34 and to through which passes the bolt 20 which is tightened by the nut 22 shown in FIG. 7 in dashed lines.
The tightening of the nut 20 applies the head 34 against the conical walls of the hole 33. The tab 1 having taken, thanks to the positive device to </ B> ball joint which allows. inclinations in all directions, the position determined by the shape of the cover, setting screws 42 are blocked against the blade 30, which rigidly connects the tab 1 and the articulation device, 35, which is blocked with, the frame 16.
The lower legs 2 and 4 also have ball devices. Figs. 8 and 9 represent, respectively in profile and from the front, such a device. The head 39, forming a ball joint, is extended by a threaded rod 40 which screws into a threaded cylinder 41 fixed to the blade 6; the tab 4 is thus articulated relative to to the blade 6, which makes it possible to adapt the ski holder to of the edges of the cover of rear box in different shapes.
The purpose of fixing the tube 7 to the blade by means of bearings 13, 14 is. to allow passage to the strap 24 shown in broken lines, in order to allow the attachment of said strap to the nipple 26.
The ski rack described is. therefore constituted by legs on which are articulated the upper and lower frames, these legs being interconnected by straps whose dimensions can vary polish adapt to the chests of different types of car-Lires.
The variable inclination of the 16 upper frame also makes it possible to adjust its position according to the different types of cars and to fold it down on the rear trunk lid when the ski rack is not used. The frame 16 can also be brought into a horizontal position, shown in fig. 2 in broken lines; to support it in this position, one could provide rods bearing on the lower frame of the ski carrier. The 16 frame could also include compressible material buffers bearing directly on the boot lid.
It could thus be used to support luggage.
