ä. in Betracht.
Process for the preparation of a nicotinic acid ester. The main patent relates to a process for the production of Nicotinsäux @ e-fl-butoxy - ethyl ester, which is obtained by reacting nicotinic acid or a Nieotinsäurederivats such.
B. nicotinic acid chloride hydrochloride, nicotinic anhydride or nicotinic acid alky lesters with ethylene glycol monobutyl ether is obtained, the subject of the present patent is a process for the preparation of a new nicotinic acid ester, namely the nieotinic acid - co - butoxydiethylene glycol ester, which is characterized in
that one has nicotinic acid or a nicotinic acid derivative with. the llonobntyl ether of diethylene glycol.
The compound thus obtained is an oily, yellowish liquid of KP-14 = 196 to 198, which is a hyperemic agent with a long duration of action.
If the reaction of the starting materials is carried out in the presence of organic solvents, for example, benzene, toluene, carbon tetrachloride and. Ä. Find use.
The reaction can advantageously be carried out in the presence of dehydrating or acid-binding agents. Hydrochloric acid and lactic acid, vefelsic acid, among others, are suitable as dehydrating agents. When using nicotinic acid halides as the starting material, the binding of the hydrogen halide pyridine, dimethyl aniline u. Ä. into consideration.
Example: The nicotinic acid chloride hydrochloride obtained from 123 g of nicotinic acid is treated with a mixture of 194 g of diethylene glycol monobutyl ether and 200 g of anhydrous pyridine under reflux cooling and vigorous shaking, with heating and dissolution occurring. After standing for several hours, sodium carbonate is added to the reaction mixture until no more carbonic acid escapes.
The separated oily liquid is subjected to vacuum distillation. A yield of 107 g of an oily, yellowish liquid with a boiling point of 14 = 196-198 was obtained.
