Coupling device for coupling an internal combustion engine to a work machine. Mainly in the case of mobile .., but also in stationary systems that have internal combustion engines as a driving force, who uses the clutches of the most varied of systems, for example cone and multi-disc clutches etc. not, can be started, turn out to be very difficult,
because they have to transmit all of the drive power and require a considerable switch-on force.
In addition, when starting, usually a larger centrifugal mass, especially in compressors, pumps and the like, has to be accelerated, so that considerable spring forces have to be overcome as a result of the often necessary lower rotational speeds and the resulting high torques. You use relatively long engagement levers, which in turn, due to their length, entail large switching paths and also still require a considerable engagement force. The operator will therefore usually not engage the clutch slowly, as prescribed, but switch on intermittently as a result of the exertion, especially when it is being taken along.
As a result, the entire machine set now holds a shock that affects both the engine of the internal combustion engine and that of the victim. This often results in bearing and piston damage in the engine, the governor of the engine jumps, etc., so that there are detrimental influences on the entire machine set.
By the invention, the A back force is to be limited to a minimum for the operator, measures are taken to advantage that ensure a smooth start of the work machine ge. The device according to the invention is now characterized in that means which can be actuated by lubricating oil pressure generated by the internal combustion engine are provided for engaging the clutch.
For example, an additional oil line from the engine can lead to a cock, slide or other final switching element, which initially releases a relatively small cross-sectional area of the oil line while the clutch is engaged and from which an actuating piston of the clutch is supplied with pressurized oil. In this example, the arrangement is advantageously such that this piston moves forward relatively slowly to engage the clutch.
The arrangement is expedient of the type that the clutch is initially only loaded with pressure oil to such an extent that it slips until the machine has almost reached the speed of the internal combustion engine, whereupon the piston continues to move; to load the clutch with full oil pressure.
For this purpose, an auxiliary slide can be connected to the switching element, which is moved relatively slowly via an adjustable overflow valve, whereby the actuating piston only reaches its end position after a certain time because during the advance of the auxiliary slide it is approaching Standstill occurs in the pressure oil supply to the clutch.
Such a device also serves as a safety device because, for example, in the event of a lack of oil due to the lack of oil pressure, the clutch is automatically disengaged; Start-up errors can also be avoided because there is no oil pressure when the internal combustion engine is shut down. and thus the machine remains switched off Since the engagement means are actuated by pressure oil, the internal combustion engine must always be put into operation first.
In certain cases where the pressure generated by the normal lubricating oil pump of the internal combustion engine is insufficient, a small lubricating oil auxiliary pump driven by the internal combustion engine can be provided. This is necessary when the pressure-actuated clutch switching means are provided in the clutch itself and, as a result of the rotating parts, stuffing boxes are necessary and leakage oil could possibly occur.
In other cases, a pressure cell can be provided, which is permanently, except during the engagement process, in the rest position and is therefore not subject to any wear. Only in special cases that exclude the use of the pressure cell can the lubricating oil pressure of the internal combustion engine be used directly to press the coupling surfaces against one another.
In the accompanying drawings, two embodiments of the coupling device according to the Invention are shown.
FIG. 1 shows a device with a pressure-oil-loaded clutch and FIG. 2 a device with a pressure-oil-relieved clutch.
FIG. 1 shows a motor 1 which forms an internal combustion engine and which is equipped with an oil pump 2 of conventional design. The Ölpiunpe 2 has so far only served to supply the engine. Sehmiez = oil. In the present case, the pressure oil line is tapped at a suitable point and a connection to a double three-way valve 3 is established.
This three-way cock is designed so that the path of the pressure oil from a line 4 into a line 5 is very strongly throttled, because the switching element formed as a three-way cock releases only a very small cross-sectional area.
As a result of this throttling effect and the viscosity of the oil, the cylinder of an engagement device of the clutch 7, in which cylinder a pressure oil piston 6 is arranged, is filled very slowly and consequently the piston 6 also only makes its way slowly, and only so far. until the relief springs 8 of the clutch 7 are stretched to a certain degree and the clutch begins to grind.
The overpressure created in line 5 as a result of the spring force of springs 8 now opens a valve 9 of a switching time controller. As a result of the resistance of valve 9, the contact pressure now rises further, whereby the mutual slip of the driving and driven machine becomes less and less. At the same time, this valve 9 is used to regulate the clamping force of the clutch, because the overpressure in line 5 is controlled by its setting and depending on the setting of the adjustable spring 1.0 of the valve 9, the clutch 7 grinds sooner or later with little relative movement. .
Now that the valve 9 is open, the pressure oil flows into a cylinder 11_ and acts on a control slide 12 arranged in this cylinder, which works against the spring force. a spring 13 moves slowly. and finally a line 14 connects to a line 15, so that the full, unthrottled pump pressure in line 4 also prevails in line 5 and now. the piston 6 the hitch be 7 completely engages. The slip process is now over, and the full torque is now transmitted with force.
The clutch disengages. in a known manner by turning back the valve 3 to its initial position, which relieves the pressure line 5 and the control slide 12 and allows the pressure oil to flow into the engine housing.
Another coupling device is shown in FIG. Your effect is. in general the same as that of the example according to FIG. 1, only with the difference that in FIG. 1 the drive shaft or possibly also the output shaft of the coupling require a stuffing box 16, which is subject to constant wear and tear through the course of the Waves are subject, while in the example of FIG. 2, the wear is switched off.
The arrangement here is such that the spring 1_8 engages the clutch which can transmit the entire torque. In the idle state, a stronger spring 19, which sits on the engine side, releases the clutch, which happens because the spring 19 acts on a pressure ring 20, which is supported in a known manner on a ball pressure bearing 21, which via pressure pin 22 a clutch disc 23, which sits longitudinally on the motor shaft 26, to the left against the spring force. the spring 18 moves. When the engine 1 starts up, the coupling disk 23 also rotates with the flywheel.
After the engine has reached its operating temperature, it is not shown here and is on hand. the Fig.1 be written switchgear switched on via the cock 3, and the pressure oil acts via a line 21 on a pressure cell 25, which, instead of corrugated pipes, can be formed as a cuff piston and loads the spring 19 via the pressure ring 20, whereby Now the clutch disc 23 moves to the right in the drawing by the action of the spring 18 and begins to grind on the ring 17 'of the clutch disc 17.
Here, as described above, the delay only occurs again until the driven machine has almost reached the speed of the internal combustion engine. Has. If this is the case, the full oil pressure goes into the pressure cell 25, and the clutch disc 23 rests firmly against the I #, clutch ring 17 ', which is achieved thereby; that as a result of the full load on the spring 19 by .the can 25, the spring 18 comes into full effect.
The pressure device 20, 25 is therefore at rest during continuous operation and is not subject to any wear and tear, as is otherwise the case with stuffing box couplings. The guarantee of unconditional operational safety is therefore given.
