Druckaustauscher.
Pressure exchanger. (R'egeiistarid of the present Ii, rfindung is a Druekaustauselier, which has a: ring of cells in which gas is compressed and expanded, as well as lines for supplying and removing gas to and from the cells and means for generation a relative rotation between the lines and the cells.
In such Druekaustausehern he is known to flush the cells in a low pressure zone.
To achieve rinsing of the cells in the low pressure zone. In the past, a blower had to be provided for the generation of the required gas flow in the case of well-known Ihnekaustausehers. The present invention now aims. To reduce the power required to carry out the flush.
According to the present invention, the pressure exchanger of the type mentioned is characterized in that means are provided to connect a cell located next to the low-pressure flushing zone with an external gas source in which there is a gas pressure which is greater than. than the low pressure flushing pressure, so that when a cell enters the 1Viederdniekspülzone, it is already filled with gas, the pressure of which is sufficient to initiate and maintain the flushing flow.
The gas from the external gas source can be taken from a compressor, for example. On the other hand, this gas can also be at least a part of the useful gas emitted by the three-way storage tank. This gas can, for example, be taken from an intermediate expansion stage of an expansion machine, that is to say from a gas turbine or a piston internal combustion engine that is fed with working fluid by the pressure exchanger.
In an extreme case, the gas taken from the external source can be the entire exhaust gas from an expansion machine, which is also produced by the pressure exchanger. Arbeitsfhiidum is fed. The gas supplied from the outside can of course be taken from any source located outside the pressure exchanger, provided it has the appropriate pressure and temperature.
The gas coming from outside can be fed to the pressure exchanger through a number of lines in which different pressures prevail.
In the accompanying drawings, exemplary embodiments of the subject matter of the invention are shown: FIG. 1 shows a schematic diagram of a first example of the pressure exchanger with the unwound rotor,
Fig. \? schematically a second Ausfüh approximately example and 'Fig. 3 schematically shows a system with a pressure exchanger according to FIG. 2 and a turbine fed by the latter with working fluid.
In FIG. 1, the rotor 1 of the driek exchanger is shown in a similar manner, together with the associated non-rotating stator parts. The rotor has a ring of cells. which are separated from each other by partition walls 1A. Moving the cells in the drawing from left to right, as indicated by arrow 2, corresponds to the direction of rotation of the rotor.
The stationary means, which are provided in the zone of HochdīLtekspülung, to include a combustion chamber 3, a flame tube 3A, a line 4 on the other. R.otor- side and a line 5, which connects the combustion chamber 3 with the line 4, where a closed flow path is formed for the fluid that flows in the direction of the arrows. Liquid fuel is fed through the line 6, and is injected into the combustion chamber 3 and burned there.
The means provided for low-pressure purging include an inlet line 7, which is used to supply fresh gas (in the present case air), and an outlet line 8, through which the exhaust gas is conveyed away from the cells, that is, is expelled into the atmosphere .
In addition, pipes 9 are provided which are intended to connect cells which have left the dead pressure zone with cells which have left the low pressure zone, so that by means of the pipes 9 between the cells which are thus connected to one another a pressure equalization is established which causes a decrease in pressure in one cell of a pair of interconnected cells and an increase in pressure in the other cell.
This effect can be better understood if the mode of operation of the pressure exchanger is considered as a whole. Consider a single cell starting with.
the line parts 3 and 4- comes into contact, it can be seen that the gas content of this cell is expelled from the cell by the flushing process and is replaced by hot gas coming from the combustion chamber, which also has a slightly higher pressure in order to to cover thermal resistance.
If the cell leaves the FIochdruel @ zone while it is moving, it reaches the position 10 on its way from left to right in the drawing, in which it is connected to a cell 19 by one of the tubes 9. The pressure prevailing in cell 19 before the connection is lower than the pressure in cell 10, see above. that, as soon as the two cells are in communication with each other, a so-called pressure exchange takes place between the two cells, whereby the pressures in the two cells 19 and 10 and the pipe 9 connecting them become approximately equal to one another.
This pressure equalization causes a gas flow, which is denoted in the following Ausauscligasstrom net, from the cell 10 into the cell 19, through the pipe 9 in the direction of the arrows. Then moved. the cell 10 moves to the position 1.1, in which it is connected to a cell 18 by a further pipe 9, so that a further pressure exchange takes place, whereby the pressures in the cells 11 and 18 become approximately equal to one another.
Cell 11 is moving. then into position 12, where it is connected to another cell 17 by a further pipe 9, so that an exchange of pressure between these cells takes place again. As many pipes 9 are provided as necessary, but are off For the sake of simplicity, only three of them are drawn.
If so. a cell leaves the high pressure zone and approaches the low pressure zone, the pressure prevailing in it is lowered in three successive steps, while the cell moves past positions 10, 11 and 12; at the same time between the low-pressure and high-pressure zone of the pressure exchanger, the pressure in a cell, namely at positions 17, 18 and 19, in three successive steps, it increases.
In the Niederdrackzone, the residual gas remaining in the cells is expelled as exhaust gas through a flushing process and replaced by cold gas (air), the cells moving continuously and the pressure in them gradually increasing again when passing positions 17, 18 and 19 becomes. In the present embodiment of the pressure exchanger, it is assumed that the latter is used to supply hot gas that is intended for expansion in a turbine or another engine.
The gas used for this purpose is discharged through line 20.
It is. provided to perform the necessary irrigation when using the cells. the lines 7 and 8 are connected without fans having to be provided in these lines 7 and 8 ..
Uni to achieve this, a line 21 is provided, which is intended. is: connected to a cell that has just left the low pressure zone. and to supply this cell with gas from an external source, which gas has a slightly higher pressure. than the pressure prevailing in the low pressure flush lines 7 and 8. The line 21 can be supplied with gas from a compressor 3, for example.
Thus, when a cell leaves the low-pressure flushing zone and reaches position 15, its pressure is increased by the gas flowing in from line 2'1. A further increase in pressure then follows as a result of the normal pressure exchange when the cell successively reaches positions 17, 18 and 19. This increase in pressure occurs. at the same time as a corresponding draek waste. another cell in positions 10, 11 and 12.
If now a cell in the 'position 12 is connected to a cell 17 by means of the pipe 9,; In the latter, there is already an increased pressure as a result of the gas previously flowed in from line 21.
So is. the remaining pressure in cell 1'2, when it has reached position 13, is higher; When the cell then reaches position 14, the pressure prevailing in it is high enough to generate a gas flow zti which takes place in the direction of arrow 14A and has a sufficiently high speed to generate the flushing gas flow in lines 7 and 8 ..
It should be noted that in the course of its movement the cell is connected first to line 8 and then to line 7. This sequence of connection of the cell with lines 7 and 8 causes the gas content in cell 14 to be accelerated in the direction of arrow 14.4.
If the connection of the cell to lines 8, 8 and 7 is interrupted in the reverse order, that is, if: the cell, as in FIG. 1, first at its downstream end (line 8) and first .
is then closed at its upstream end (line 7), the pressure in the cell is increased as a result of the movement impulse, where the cell is charged to a certain extent. The pressure in line 21 must always be higher than the dxaick in the cell after this from the. Purge lines was disconnected. The gas supplied to the cell through line 21 causes the pressure in the cells around the rotor to be increased.
It is thus possible to omit some of the tubes 9 and thus. reduce the number of pressure exchanges that occur during a complete revolution of the rotor.
In the example shown, a second line 22 is also provided for 'supplying gas from an external source to the pressure exchanger. The arrangement is such that the gas supplied through line 22 has a higher pressure. than that supplied through line 21. This is expediently achieved in that the line 22 is connected to an output stage of a compressor, while the line 21 is connected to an intermediate stage.
On the other hand, the lines 21 and 22 can also be connected to an expansion machine, for example a turbine.
When a cell reaches the position 15 and there first verbun with the line 21 is created. in the gas in the cell a pressure wave which propagates to the other end of the cell, where it is reflected. and is thrown back against the line 21. Appropriately, a cell is connected to a line carrying gas from an external source for approximately the same length of time as the aforementioned pressure wave needs time to return to the opening of this line after its reflection from the other end wall of the cell.
With gc3nailer timing of the processes, it is possible to have a: higher. To achieve pressure when it prevails in lines 21 and 22.
The connection of the cell to the line 2.1 or 22 is also expediently interrupted before the other end of the cell is opened towards one of the tubes 9.
In practical operation it is sufficient: it ever, if the connection between a cell und.- the lines 21 and, 22 is interrupted before the pressure wave in a cell, which was generated by the higher pressure in the pipe 9, the line 21 or 22 he's enough. It is thus easily possible for a cell to be geometrically connected to the line 21 or 22 and one of the pipes 9 at the same time. Due to the speed of the rotor Drehge, however, this does not matter.
Instead of the lines 21 and 22, the gas originating from outside can also be introduced into the cells before these cells have reached the lower di-t, iek zone. The gas can be supplied, for example, by means of a line 24 which takes gas from the compressor 23. In this case, the pressure in the cell is increased in position 13 so that when the cell reaches position 14, the flushing flow is triggered. The connection of a cell with. the pipes. 9 is expediently interrupted before the cell is brought into connection with the line 24. becomes.
The connection of the cell in position 13 to line 24 is interrupted before this cell is connected to line 8. However, there may be cases in which it is two-fold to connect a cell in position 13 to line 8 before the connection of this cell to line 2-1 is interrupted.
In this case, the effect of the higher pressure supplied from the outside causes a greater acceleration of the gas contained in the cell.
The lines. 21, 22 or 24 can also be arranged on the other side of the rotor, that is to say on the side of the line 8. It is also possible to provide these lines on both sides of the rotor, so that the gas supply to the cells takes a shorter time.
Thus, a line 21 can have the arrangement shown in FIG. 1, while a line 2? on the other, that is. the same rotor side as the line 8 can be arranged at.
2 shows a pressure exchanger which has two counter-rotating, coaxially zueinan the arranged cell rotors. The arrangement is such that the channels 31 corresponding to the tubes 9 according to FIG. 1 are intended to carry cells of the one rotor. To connect lines of the other rotor. The two _-counter rotating Ro gates are denoted by 25 and 26 and shown in Figure 2 in development.
The means for purging in the high-pressure zone, the combustion chamber and the removal of the useful gas are approximately the same as in the example according to FIG. 1 and are therefore not here. more further explained .. The cells of the rotors are flushed in the low-pressure zone simultaneously by means of lines 27 and 28, which are assigned to rotor 25, and by means of lines 29 and 30, which are assigned to rotor 6. The arrows in Fig.2 show the.
Flow direction of the purge gas flow. If, for example, the cell of the rotor 25 located far left in Pilo-.2 is considered, which has just left the high pressure zone, it becomes apparent that when this cell reaches position 9, it is connected to a cell V des via channels 31 other rotor \? 6 is connected. Between these interconnected cells takes place. now a so-called pressure exchange. The cells L and T ', C and T etc.
Connected in pairs in such a way that a cell of the rotor 25 is subject to a number of successive pressure drops when it moves from 1 'to 1', while in a cell of the rotor 26, when it moves from 1 'to 1', the pressure increases. becomes. Exactly the same process takes place between the positions E, F, G and P, Q, R.
As far as the gas supply from an external source is concerned, the two examples according to Mg. 1 and 2 are almost completely the same. In this example, has. the gas supplied from the outside has a higher pressure than before. was generated in the low pressure flushing zone in the cells of each rotor which have just left this zone. The gas is supplied here by means of a line 32, which feeds the cells of the rotor 5, and a line 33, which feeds the cells of the rotor 26.
The lines 32 and 33 are both connected to a compressor. On the other hand, the gas supplied from the outside can also be taken from an expansion machine :; such an arrangement is shown in FIG. 3, for example.
Fig.3 shows. schematically a pressure exchanger and a gas turbine assigned to it. The Druekaustauseher drawn only in its outline corresponds generally to the embodiment according to FIG. 2 and has a pair of coaxial, counter-rotating the. Rotors? 5, 26. The cells: the rotors graze in the Niederdi-Liclkzone flushed.
The purge gas, for example air at atmospheric pressure, enters the pressure exchanger through lines 27 and 29, while the exhaust gases from the rotors can escape through a double outlet 28 and 30. Lines 35 and 36, which are connected to combustion chambers 3'7 and 38, respectively, are provided on the 1-cylinder flushing zone of each rotor.
The hot, compressed useful gas is discharged by means of a pipe 39 and fed to a multi-stage (last ui-bine 40., Useful power is taken from the MTelle. The exhaust gases from this turbine flow out through a line 41).
A part of the working fluid of the turbine is tapped at a middle stage of the turbine by means of a pipe 42 and supplied to the rotors through further pipes 43, 44 as the gas coming from outside. The pipe 43 is connected to the line 32 (FIGS. 2 and 3), while the pipe 44 is connected to the line 33.
It is useful to cool the gas supplied from the outside before it flows into lines 32 and 33 .; cooling devices 45 are provided for this purpose. In. the tubes 43 and 44 are furthermore arranged throttle valves 46.
In another embodiment, the entire exhaust gas from the turbine 40 is returned to the pressure exchanger, where it serves as the gas supplied from the outside. In such a case, the bleeding line 42 is superfluous and the pipes 43 and 44 are connected to the exhaust gas line 41.
In order to support the flushing flows when the pressure exchanger is put into operation, the cell wall 1A (Fig. 1) is expediently arranged in a helical manner so that when: the rotor rotates, these cell walls act as blades to generate the flushing gas flow Act.
