Gun-shaped device for the electrical welding or soldering of bolts to a base. There are pistol-shaped welding and soldering devices for electrical welding or soldering of bolts to a base have become known, in which the bolt to be inserted into the mouth of the device during Sehweissen or soldering is pushed back into the device by pressing against the base and then when switching on the Sehweiss - or soldering current automatically through electromagnetic force. is withdrawn a further piece so that an arc forms between the stud and the base, the heat of which causes the weld or
Soldering enabled. becomes. The distance by which the magnet pulls back the bolt should always be the same in order to ensure the correct arc length, even if the length of the bolts may differ. This is not the case with the known devices.
A bolt that is too long will therefore lose a. too short or possibly not withdrawn at all, while a too short bolt is withdrawn by a distance that may be too big to allow an arc to occur between the bolt and the base.
This disadvantage is eliminated dirreh the present invention. It relates to a pistol-shaped apparatus of the above-mentioned type for electrically welding or soldering bolts to a base, which is characterized in that a part of the apparatus serving to hold the bolt is displaceable with respect to a part to be exposed to the electromagnetic force and that means are available through which, when the current is switched on, the two parts mentioned are automatically brought into firm engagement with one another in their mutual position then given under the influence of the magnetic force.
There. the mentioned position of the two named parts depends on the length of the bolt used, the bolt is always pulled back by the same amount of the base due to the magnetic effect, which ensures the creation of the desired arc, regardless of whether the bolt long or short.
Two embodiments of the invention are shown in the accompanying drawings. It shows: Fig. 1 the first embodiment of the pistol-shaped apparatus in side view and partially in longitudinal section, Fig. 2 a part of the second training form of the apparatus in partial longitudinal section.
The housing of the welding and soldering apparatus shown in Fig. 1 consists of two mutually rotatable parts 1 and 3. On the end of the housing part 3 sits a coupling nut 4, which holds a conically tapered sleeve 5, in the end of which a porcelain ring 6 is inserted is. In the middle of an insulating body 7 fixed in the housing, a rod 8 which is displaceable in its longitudinal direction is mounted, which at one end carries a clamping sleeve 9 serving to hold the bolt 10 to be soldered on or to be welded. On your other end of the rod 8 sits a sleeve 11 into which a tube 12 is firmly inserted. This tube protrudes into a solenoid 13.
The sleeve 11 is pressed against the insulating body 7 by a helical compression spring 43 surrounding it, which lies between a fixed stop 1.1 and a flange 15 of the sleeve 11.
Inside the tube 12 is a clamping device which consists of two lever arms 16 pivotable about a pin 17, each with a support arm 18. The two lever arms are expediently manufactured in such a way that a body consisting of a cylindrical and an adjoining, slightly conical part is provided with a transverse bore for the pin 17 in the vicinity of the base of the cone and then in its center in the longitudinal direction, Splits. The clamping device 16-18 is in the tube 12 in the longitudinal direction of the same ver slidable. A helical spring 20 introduced into the tube 1.2 exercises. by means of a spring shoe 19 a in Fig. 1 to the right ge directed pressure on the clamping member.
The end faces 21 of the lever arms 16 facing away from the spring 20 are beveled and can work together with the same beveled end faces 22 of an iron core 23, which is located inside the solenoid 13. The iron core 23 is pierced in the longitudinal direction and houses a compression spring 26 in its interior, which is supported on a screw pin 27 inserted into the core 23 and arms 16 presses a bolt 24 against the adjacent end of the lever. The bolt 24 has a collar 25 which prevents it from sliding out of the iron core 23. A pistol grip 2, which houses an electrical switch with an actuating button 28, is attached to the housing part 1.
The winding of the solenoid 13 is connected on the one hand to the metal parts of the apparatus with the sleeve 9 for receiving the bolt 10 to be welded or soldered on and on the other hand to the switch mentioned. To use the apparatus described, one pole of an electrical power source is connected to the switch in the pistol grip 2 and the other pole is connected to the plate on which the bolt 10 is to be attached by welding or soldering. In the housing part 3 are not explained in detail here, the subject of another patent forming means for automatically breaking the circuit after a predetermined welding or soldering time before seen.
Before welding, the bolt 1.0 to be welded to the support is inserted into the clamping sleeve 9 and the sleeve 5 is set by means of the coupling nut 4 so that the porcelain ring 6 is a short distance behind the front end of the bolt 10. Now the bolt 10 is pressed against the base by means of the apparatus, so that it is pushed back into the housing of the apparatus against the action of the springs 43 and 20 until the porcelain ring 6 is on the base sits on.
The tensioning device 16-1.8 remains in its original place, since the spring 26 is made stronger than the spring 20, which is thus compressed. The tube 12 therefore slides over the jig 16-18. The electrical circuit is then closed by pressing button 28. Because the current flows through the sole noid 13, the iron core 23 is magnetized.
This pulls the clamping device 16-1.8 against you, the lever arms 16 being pivoted against each other by the magnetic pull, so that the support arms 18 spread apart from one another and clamp on the inner wall of the pipe 1-2. The iron core 23 now pulls the lever arms 16 completely to itself until their beveled surfaces 21 rest against the inclined surfaces 22, compressing the spring 26. During this movement, the support arms 18 take the tube 12 and the parts connected to it with them, so that the bolt 10 is pulled a little further into the apparatus.
There is therefore a distance between the front end of the bolt 10 and the base and - since these two parts are in a closed circuit, an arc between these parts, the thermal effect of which causes the end of the bolt 10 to melt. As soon as this has happened, the power is automatically interrupted. The iron core 23 thus loses its magnetic attraction, and the springs 43 and 20 now press the bolt 10 onto the base, where it is welded in place. When the magne tables force stops acting on the lever arms 16, the support arms 18 detach from the inner wall of the tube 12, and the spring 20 pushes the clamping device 16-18 again so far out of the tube 12 until it against the bolt 24 bumps.
The distance by which the bolt 10 is withdrawn from the work piece to form the arc is always given by the distance between the beveled end surfaces 21 of the lever arms 16 from the inclined surfaces 22 of the iron core 23. This distance is determined by the length of the bolt 24 and can, for. B. by inserting bolts of different lengths are arbitrarily governed. It is also possible to relocate that approach in the iron core 23 against which the flange 25 of the bolt 24 rests in a sleeve which is displaceable in the axial direction in the iron core 23 and which can be adjusted from the outside in order to reduce the distance between the inclined surfaces 21 and 22 without changing the bolt 24 to be able to change.
From the above description it can be seen that the distance by which the bolt 10 is withdrawn from the base to form the arc is completely independent of the respective length of the bolt used.
Fig. 2 shows another embodiment of the clamping device. This consists here of a hook-shaped organ 31 with. eccentric curvature which protrudes into a tube 35 present in place of the tube 12. The iron core of the solenoid, which is not otherwise shown, is denoted by 34 in FIG. As soon as the core 34 pulls the organ 31 when the circuit is closed, it experiences a pivoting movement counterclockwise in FIG. 2, the surfaces 32 and 33 of the organ 31 pressing against the inner wall of the tube 35.
The resulting clamping effect brings the parts 35 and 31 firmly into engagement with one another. In order to increase the friction between the member 31 and the tube 35, the inner wall of the tube can have elongated flat surfaces at the points 36 and 37.
According to an embodiment not shown, the tensioning device could have such an eccentric element which, under the influence of the magnetic force, executes a rotary movement which brings about the clamping.
