Fig. 1 zeigt eine Seitenansicht der Ein richtung.
Fig. 2 zeigt den. In Fig. 1 bedeutet.
Magnetic recording and playback device. The present invention relates to a magnetic recording and playback device, in which a magnetic head resting on a magnetic sound carrier is used for sound recording and playback.
In previously known devices of this type for sound recording, the magnetic recording and playback head lies on the sound carrier with a certain constant pressure, with the result that both the magnetic head and the sound carrier are subject to very considerable wear, which causes these two Devices wear out fairly quickly during the operation of the facility. This is not permissible in cases where the individual parts of the recording device cannot be easily replaced who can or should be, for.
B. on receiving devices for telephone subscribers. Such devices should have a particularly long service life and should have a disk or cylinder as the shape for the magnetic sound carrier, covered with a very thin layer containing the magnetic material. This layer should be protected against external influences, and therefore the disk or the cylinder should not be accessible to the subscriber. By means of special measures, both the magnetic head and the magnetic layer can be protected against excessive wear and tear as a result of mutual friction between them during recording and playback if their service life is to be sufficiently long.
In a. Known magnetic sound recording device of this type, the pole pieces of the recording and playback head, which have a contact surface z-on the size of a few square millimeters and are made of soft magnetic mate rial, on a surface of a magnetic coating that is a hard one magnetic table material, e.g. B. iron oxide contains. The surface of the lining is very large compared to the contact surface of the head, and therefore the head will be worn out faster than the Be lay, especially if it is made of a material with fairly low wear resistance.
It is evidently rotwendig - to meet high demands on the life of the individual parts of the recording device - to keep the pressure of the head against the sound carrier as low as possible, and this brings special difficulties with regard to the fabrication and assembly of the Apparatus with it, since for practical reasons it is not favorable to let this pressure drop below a certain value.
In the magnetic sound recording device according to the present invention, the required service life of the individual parts is achieved in that the magnetic head is attached to its recording arm in such a way that its pressure on the sound carrier decreases when the head is in use due to friction with the sound carrier from being used. For this purpose, the magnetic head can be attached to the Aufnahinearrn by means of springs, these springs affecting the contact pressure between the head and the sound carrier.
These springs exert an initial pressure corresponding to a distance which corresponds approximately to the wear permitted for the head, whereby the contact pressure of the head on the pad continuously decreases and asymtotically reaches zero when the head has been abraded as much as the corresponds to permissible wear.
Since the springs mentioned have received a certain initial tension and are rather weakly dimensioned, they can be easily damaged, as a result of which the tension mentioned changes and the desired contact pressure when contacting the head is not achieved. In order to prevent such damage, the receiving device expediently contains a Klemmvorrich device, which is intended to protect the said springs during transport and the like against external influences. The magnetic head is advantageously mounted on a holder which is displaceably mounted on the receiving arm with the aid of the springs, the wall thickness of the receiving arm being greater than that of the holder.
On each side of the receiving arm and .des holder there is expediently a side plate made of elastic material, which are connected to each other, with the holder and the receiving arm with the help of screws, that if the screw fastened in the holder is not fully tightened, Relative movement can take place between the holder and the receiving arm; if, on the other hand, the last-mentioned screw is firmly tightened, the holder is clamped firmly between the side plates without being displaced laterally with respect to the receiving arm, which prevents the aforementioned relative movement of the holder.
An embodiment of the device according to the Invention is shown in the accompanying drawing.
Fig. 1 shows a side view of the device.
Fig. 2 shows the. Magnetic head and the parts carrying it from above and FIG. 3 shows part of the clamping device. In Fig. 1 means. 10 a sound carrier, which consists of a sturdy disc, on the underside of which a magnetic coating is placed, z. B. cemented, is. A magnetic recording and playback head 9 rests with its pole pieces 11 on the magnetic covering during recording and playback. The slot between the pole shoes is indicated at 12 in FIG. The head 9 is mounted on a holder 6 which in turn is connected to a receiving arm 1 which is radially movable with respect to the disk 10.
The receiving arm performs an angular movement around the shaft 2 during recording and playback, in an expedient manner from the center of the rotating disk 10 to its periphery. The guide roller 3 in Fig. 2 has the task of directing the movement of the pickup arm when operating the device.
The holder 6 is connected to the receiving arm 1 by means of two leaf springs 7, which allow a certain limited movement of the Hal age with respect to the receiving arm up and down in FIG. The springs 7 have a certain initial tension which presses the head 9 upwards against the disk 10 with a fairly low force. This tension is chosen in such a way that the head assumes such a position before it is worn and without resting on a plate that, due to the spring action, it moves about as high as is permissible for the head at maximum wear.
As mentioned above, the head is worn more and more during recording and playback, so that its against the disc. The surface, which is initially quite small, increases in size, the head being dimensioned in such a way that such wear can be tolerated to a certain extent without its mode of operation deteriorating. Since the initial tension has been selected in such a way that it decreases with increasing wear, the contact pressure between the head and the base increases. obviously also decreases and reaches the value zero when the maximum permissible wear of the head is reached.
Due to the fact that this pressure asymptotically tends to zero, goes. the wear and tear always slower when you approach the maximum Ab use, and therefore the life of the head increases considerably in comparison to such sound recording devices where z. B. there is a constant contact pressure, which is effective due to the weight of the 'magnetic head.
Obviously, a contact pressure, which of course has been chosen as small as possible at the beginning, and can decrease even more during the wear of the head, is due to the fact that the contact pressure itself is only intended to be used when sound carriers are used, their magnetizable See is covered with a non-magnetic protective layer, the head on one. a certain distance or in the case of sound carriers without a protective layer in contact with the magnetizable covering.
It is of course very important that such a distance is kept constant or that such contact always exists, as otherwise the magnetic field penetrates the pavement not only depending on the field strength corresponding to the recording, but also on variations in the air gap between which would depend on the neighboring pole pieces as a result of possible unevenness of their surface. Obviously, the necessary contact pressure must be greater when the pad and head are new than when they have been used in the recording device for a fairly long time.
The mutual friction between the head and the pad during recording and playback has a smoothing effect on all bumps, which will consequently be gradually leveled out so that the contact surfaces between pad and head become mirror-smooth over time, which requires a smaller contact pressure to maintain a constant distance or air gap between the head and the magnetic layer.
As mentioned above, it is in a device of the type described, in which the Fe countries 7 wear the head and in the Fabri cation a certain initial tension get th, necessary that a change in this voltage as a result of careless handling, eg. B. is avoided during transport and the assembly of the apparatus. For this purpose, elongated - side plates 4 and 5 are arranged on each side of the holder 6 and the receiving arm 1, these plates be made of elastic material and using the screws 13, 14 and 15, the receiving arm, respectively. penetrate the holder, connected to each other.
The screws 13 and 14 sit tightly in threads in the receiving arm 1, while screw 15 pierces the holder 6 in a bore with a larger diameter or in an upwardly directed slot. When the screw 15 is not tightened, it allows a certain relative movement up and down in Fig. 1 between the holder and the receiving arm. When this screw is tightened, the holder 6 is clamped between the side plates 4 and 5 without being pressed sideways (in the vertical direction in FIG. 2), as a result of which the springs 7 could be destroyed. The holder is fixed relative to the receiving arm 1 by tightening the screw 15 and is through.
this worn, whereby the springs 7 are relieved of all stresses and vibrations which z. B. could th auftre during transport of the sound recording device. .
The individual recording parts of a sound recording device of the type described enclosed should, as mentioned above, not be accessible from the outside. They are enclosed in a housing which, however, is provided with an opening through which the clamping screw 15 can be operated from the outside. When clamping, it is important that not only is the head fixed on the receiving arm 1, but that the head does not rest on the sound carrier 10 either. Such a device, which ensures that the head is pressed down during clamping, is shown in FIG.
The holder 6 is as seen in FIGS. 1 and 2 with the side plates 4 and 5 ver, which by tightening the screw 15 pressed against the holder who can. This screw is, what can not be seen from Figs. 1 and 2, ver elongated towards the housing 18 of the receiving apparatus and see with a hexagonal recess 8 directly in front of the opening 17 in the (xehäuse ver: Through this opening is a six-cornered visual wrench introduced from the outside in order to tighten the screw 15. In order for this to be possible, an opening must be made in front of the recess 8.
This opening is provided in an approach 16, which is firmly connected to the holder 6 and can be pressed down from the outside with the help of the wrench so that the opening comes into the correct position and the hexagonal wrench is inserted into the recess 8 can. If (read occurs, the holder 6 is also pressed down and the contact of the head with the sound carrier is interrupted.
It is obvious that it is impossible to clamp the head if it is not pressed down with the help of the projection 16 and then loses contact with the magnetic coating.
