Audiometer.
Audiometer. The invention relates to an audio riveter for recording the hearing threshold curves for air conduction and bone conduction. With the bone conduction test, in order to achieve the same hearing impressions as with the air conduction, a significantly higher output stimulus must be set in each case.
In order to nevertheless be able to use a common volume control for the display of the hearing threshold values for air and noise conduction, and the "eli wave values of the normal hearing person for air":
and bone conduction coincide, the volume must be increased during the transition from the hip conduction test to the bone conduction test, but without changing the position of the single volume control.
For this purpose, a changeover switch has been provided in addition to the volume control in known ludiometers in order to control the volume increase required for a # -) - faint auditory impression during the transition from the air conduction to the bone conduction test. As a result, the maximum output of the device,
which is only reached in the air conduction test at the upper limit of the adjustment range of the common volume, in the case of bone conduction, due to the action of the switch, it is reached long before the volume control is in its position End position is brought.
It exists. Then there is the risk that, if the control range is used further, bone conductors @@: strengths will be simulated which in reality cannot be generated with the device, and that incorrect conclusions will be drawn about the hearing ability from such incorrect measurements.
According to the invention, such incorrect measurements can be avoided by providing a device to move the upper limit of the adjustment range of the volume control when transitioning from the air conduction to the bone conduction test so far towards the zero point that the maximum value of the volume that can be achieved with the audiometer Not. can be exceeded.
Advantageously, this shift is inevitably connected with the increase in the volume, in that the switch from air to bone conduction is permanently coupled to the device for limiting the adjustment range for the volume control.
In the drawing, the invention is illustrated in one embodiment, namely: Figure 1 is a front view of the audiometer with controls in a schematic Dar position, Fig. 2 is a rear view of Fig. 1 with a schematic representation of the circuit.
The audiometer consists of a generator 1 for generating audio frequencies with a switch 2 for the optional setting of nine different frequencies in octaves between 64 and 16,384 Hz, also a device for taking differently high logarithmically graduated measurement voltages, a measuring amplifier 3 and headphones 4, 5 for air and knee conduction testing.
The setting buttons 6, 7 for frequency and volume or measuring voltage can be moved in a straight line in guides 8, 9 arranged at right angles to one another and connected to transparent pointers 10, 11 with a longitudinal slot or row of holes, which move over a writing pad 12 and its intersection point 13 shows the measured value made up of frequency and volume. The measuring points can e.g.
B. with the help of a pencil through the slot of the pointer 10 and the hole of the pointer that covers it on a writing sheet 14, which is held by pins 15115, are marked. The row of holes of the pointer 11 for the volume is not formed as a straight line, but as a curve, in such a way that the hearing threshold as a function of the frequency is a straight line (zero line) from which the deviations in hearing ability as Hearing load can be measured up to 120 db downwards and up to -20 db upwards if the hearing sensation is abnormal.
The logarithmically increasing measuring voltages are set by moving the adjustment button 7 on a decibel divider
EMI0002.0020
with a resistor R / n parallel to R and fed to the measuring amplifier 3 as input voltage.
In order to achieve the same hearing impression in normal hearing for air and bone conduction in the same position of the volume control and pointer 11 and thus to bring the air and bone conduction curves into congruence with the same hearing ability, it is necessary to use the bone conduction test with higher initial power of the generator to work.
For this purpose, by means of a switch 17 at the transition from the air conduction test to the knee conduction test, the resistances are used
EMI0002.0034
and R / n are rendered ineffective and as a result the voltage applied to the measuring amplifier 3 is increased by the factor ii (e.g. = 100 ) .
The switch 17 is provided with a control button 18 and connected to a second contact 19, by which the air receiver 4 or the knee receiver 5 are switched on, alternatively.
Furthermore, the Uni sehalter 17 is connected to a bolt 20, which is the upper limit of the adjustment range of the volume control when. Transition from the air conduction to the knee conduction test automatically so far.
moves towards the zero point, so that the higher measuring voltage resulting from the same position of the volume control at Kiloehenleitung just reaches its maximum possible value when the adjustment knob 7 is hit on the bolt 20 and a measurement leading to false conclusions is not possible beyond this position is.
The increase in output power during the transition to the Knoeheilleitungsprüfung could be a variable, e.g. B. represent a variable that depends on the frequency in order to compensate for other frequency dependencies.
