Photographisehe Rollfilmkamera.
Photo roll film camera. The present invention relates to a roll film photographic camera.
Most of the roll film cameras in use today are either box-type cameras or cameras with bellows.
The box type that can be produced easily and cheaply is. very space-consuming; Cameras with bellows take up less space, but are more expensive to manufacture due to the expensive joints and the bellows device for accommodating the foldable front part.
Both types, especially the latter, have several operating handles that have to be set by hand before the camera is ready to take a picture.
The purpose of the present invention is. it to produce a roll film camera that combines the advantages of the simplicity of the box camera with the smallness of the bellows camera and yet avoids the unwieldy cube shape of the former and the usual foldable front of the latter.
The camera according to the invention is characterized in that it consists of a central part carrying the optics and the film reels and two lateral, outer wing parts which can be pivoted relative to one another about an axis parallel to the film reel shafts.
An exemplary embodiment of the camera according to the invention will now be explained in more detail with reference to the accompanying schematic drawings, FIG. Figure 3 is a perspective view of the camera in a hinged position.
FIG. 2 shows a simplified top view of the camera in the open state, ready to receive a full film spool.
3 shows a top view of the camera in the unfolded (image recording) position and shows details of the film transport mechanism which is actuated by opening and closing the wing parts.
4 is a cross-sectional view of the central fixed camera part in simplified form to show details of the shutter actuation mechanism mounted on a frame which is hinged to the camera body.
FIG. 5 shows details of the shutter time mechanism and parts of the shutter actuating mechanism which are arranged in the left wing part of FIG. FIG. 5 shows part of FIG. 3 in a view from below.
FIG. 6 shows, on a larger scale, details of the film winding and counting mechanism 3, the connections with the locking actuation mechanism and the shutter release button connections as they are accommodated in the left wing part in FIG. FIG. 6 is a part of FIG. 3 in the view from above.
Fig.7 shows details of an internal ratchet gear, which is net angeord in your counting mechanism shown in FIG. Fig.1 shows that the camera consists of three main parts: Firstly, from a star ren, central main part 1, which carries a lens 2 and a lock, which the latter is described in more detail below with reference to Fig.4, and secondly from one Finder 3 and thirdly from two lateral wing parts 4 and 5 which are rotatably attached to the middle part 1.
The wing part 4 represents a housing chamber for the film dispensing reel, and the wing part 5 represents a housing chamber for the film take-up reel and for the associated operating mechanism. The two wing parts 4 and 5 are arranged pivotably by means of a hinge so that they can continuously approach one another in a plane extending through the optical axis of the lens 2 via its image plane.
With the help of the aforementioned actuating mechanism, this pivoting movement is used to both transport the film and open the shutter, the two wing parts 4 and 5 so ge. are shaped so that they form handles to hold the camera and to carry out the said Actuate conditions.
The viewfinder 3 extends over the entire length of the camera, and its exceptional length makes it possible to mount an extremely advantageous viewfinder optics therein. The taking lens 2 is mounted in the same plane as the viewfinder.
A cover plate 6 is slidably attached to the cylin drical front side to see uni the pickup lens and the viewfinder lens when the camera is not needed.
The arrangement of the viewfinder and Auf- itahmens and the shield 6 is such that a search through. the viewfinder is not possible if the protective shield is not completely pushed away from both lenses.
To load the camera, the Klin kenknöpfe 7 and 7 '(Fig. 3) ge pressed down, releasing the wing parts 4 and 5 from the articulated frame 17 and 17', which carry the film reels 9 and 10. The KP inera can then be fully opened, as shown in FIG.
A full reel of film 9 is then in the; articulated frame 17 used, threaded through the paper guide and drawn into the empty spool 10 in the articulated frame 17 '.
The camera is then closed and brought into the position shown in Fig.1; is, the ratchet buttons 7 and 7 'move upwards and automatically snap under spring pressure, uni the two wing parts 4 and 5 to connect to the frame.
When the camera is pulled apart after loading into the position shown in FIG. 3, it is locked in this extended position by a toggle lever 26. This lever 26 (Fig. 2) has an arm 95 which sits under the upper part of the wing 4 and which is under the pressure of a spring 96 and carries a pawl 1.00 which engages in a notch 101 in a cam 1.02 sits on an intermediate part 8 and thereby holds the camera in the position of use until the lever 26 is operated by hand to release the pawl 100 from the notch 101, whereby the camera can be closed again.
The intermediate part 8 represents a light-tight cover which is held in place between the two wing parts 4 and 5 (FIG. 3) with the aid of a slidably Gela Gerten pawl 103 (FIG. 4). The end of the pawl 103, which consists of one piece with the pawl 7 ′, engages in a slot 101 (FIG. 2) in the intermediate part 8.
After the film reel is inserted, who pulled the two wing parts out of each other into the position shown in Figure 3 (and which is the final image recording position) and then closed again to the position shown in Fig. 1. This process is carried out several times. It transports the leader of the roll film and the film onto the film take-up spool until the first piece of the actual film is in a position in which a picture can be taken.
The film is transported by closing the wing parts 4 and 5 onto the take-up reel by means of a gear drive 11, 12, 13, 14, which is best seen in FIG. The pinion 11 is coupled to the take-up reel 10 and is driven by the gear 12 which forms part of the transmission operation comprising the gears 12 and 13.
An overrunning clutch is attached between the gears 12 and 13. The gear 1.3 is driven by the spring-loaded tooth segment 14, which is rotatable about an axis 15, this axis 15 expediently coinciding with the axis of the wing parts 4 and 5.
When the two wing parts are pivoted together, a pin 16, which is mounted on the frame 17 hinged to the wing part 4, engages in the surface 18 of the tooth segment 14 and drives the said segment, which in turn has the gears 13, 12 and 11 and thus the take-up reel 10 drives.
When the wing parts are opened, the free-wheeling of the gear takes effect and the take-up reel is rigidly held by the pawl mechanism which is arranged on the pinion 12. As a result of this actuation, the film 19 is pulled through the camera and withdrawn from the supply reel 9, so that in the off position of the camera, as shown in FIG. 3, the next length of film is drawn into a position in which a recording is made can be made.
Compensation for the changing diameter of the roll film on the take-up spool 10 is made by changing the rotation of the film gear as the film advances from the first to the last length of film. This is achieved with the aid of an articulated lever 20 which is articulated at 21 on the frame 17 and is loaded by a spring 22 in such a way that its arm 23 is pressed against the backing paper of the film on the supply spool 9.
Just as the film on the supply reel decreases in diameter, the arm 23 follows this diameter and in doing so causes the other arm 24 of the lever 20 to serve as a variable stop for a pin 25 which is attached to the toothed segment 24.
When the camera is closed after taking a picture, the closing movement brings the pin 25 into engagement with the arm 24 of the lever 20 and moves this arm clockwise until the pin 16 engages in the surface 18 of the toothed segment 14, wherein The take-up reel 10 is driven by the toothed segment and the gear drive 13, 12 and 11.
It can be seen that when the supply spool is full, the toothed segment 14 can move further back than when the spool is almost empty, so that the toothed segment is rotated through a larger angle when the supply spool is full. This compensates for the variable actual diameter of the film on the take-up reel.
In order to take another picture, the camera is pulled out again in the position shown in FIG. 3. The lever 20 resumes its original position, with the arm 23 resting on the supply reel, while the toothed segment 14 is held in the position in which it was in the previous closing by the engagement of a lever pawl 27 (FIG. 6 ), which is articulated at 28 on the wing part 5, had been mounted in a cam 97 on the toothed segment 14.
A slot closure is provided for the camera described.
Figures 4 and 5 show details of it and the manner in which it is operated.
The opening of the lens 2 (FIG. 4) is normally closed by a closure plate 29, which consists of a bent arm on a lever 30 which is attached at 31 to an inner frame 32 which is connected to your wing part 5. The lever 30 is pressed by the spring 33 against a stop pin 34 to. A second lever 35 is pressed by the spring 36 against a stop pin 37 on the locking lever 30 and is hinged to the lever 30. A toggle lever 38 is articulated at 39 on the wing part 5 and has two arms 40 and 41, of which the arm 40 with.
the lever 35 is connected and the arm 41 in turn cooperates with a cam disk 42 (Fig. 5) which is attached to the middle part 1 of the camera and serves to cock the shutter when the camera is closed. The end of the arm 41 also rests against the spring 43 and tensions it while the camera makes the closing movement.
The end 41 of the lever 38 is normally held by the spring 43 against a pawl 44 on an arm 45 of a toggle lever 46, the second arm 47 is arranged so that it is in an arm. 48 of a double lever 98 (Fig. 4) engages which is actuated by the lock actuating button 50 (Fig. 6) in a manner described below.
Another toggle lever 51 is attached below the lever 46, these two levers within the wing part 5 on the housing part 52 are articulated.
One arm 53 of the lever 51 is under spring pressure in the clockwise direction, while the other arm 54 normally engages and is held by a cam 55 (FIG. 5), the arm 54 carrying a cam 56 at its end .
In order to take a picture, the release button 50 (Fig. 6) is pressed in and pivots about its bearing point 57, whereby its surface 58 rests against the pin 59 which is mounted on the lever pawl 60. The lever pawl 60 has a slot 61 which allows combined tilting and sliding about a pin 62 (Figure 6); this pin is attached to the housing part 52 (joint 3) within the wing part 5 (joint 6).
The pin 59 presses the end 49 of the lever 98, which is attached at 63 (Fig. 4) to the housing 52 inside the wing part 5, against the action of the spring 64 in order to provide the movement necessary to actuate the locking mechanism, which is in the will be further described in more detail. Pressing the release button 50 also activates the exposure counter 65 (Fig. 1), which indicates the number of exposed film exposures.
This process takes place in the following manner. When the release button 50 completes its movement when pushed in, the pin 59 performs a combined rotating and sliding movement in connection with the pin 62, so that the locking pawl surface 66 on the lever pawl 60 with a the ratchet teeth 67 which form part of the counter 65 mesh. This is rotatably housed in the wing part 5 so that the release button 50 in the return to its rest position after the recording moves the recording counter 65 by one division.
The counter 65 has further internal locking teeth 68, which in turn are finite. your pin 69 are engaged on the lever pawl 27, so that when the counter is rotated in the manner described above, the pawl lever 27 is pulled out of engagement with the cam 97 on the toothed segment 14 while allowing the toothed segment to under the influence of its it tension spring a rotary movement zui complete until the pin 25 comes to rest on said tooth segment on the arm 24 of the lever 20 (Fig. 3).
Details of the internal ratchet teeth 68 of the counter 65 are shown in FIG. At one point no ratchet tooth is milled to form a cam 81, while at another point a tooth is left out to form a detent 99. The cam 81 cooperates with the pin 69 on the pawl lever 27 (Fig. 6) while the end strip i of film is wound onto the take-up reel after the last exposure is taken. In this position of the counter, the pin 69 cooperates with the cam 81, and the Ilebels locking pawl 27 is thereby prevented from in the.
Cam 9 7 engage on the tooth segment 14 so that the closing and opening of the camera. the film continues to wind up until the last end of the paper protection strip of the film completely on the up! Winding spool is wound. When the camera is in this position, then a catch 84 in a further cam ring 8 '? Which is attached to the counter, a spring-loaded lever 85 which is attached to the wing part 5 at 86, is allowed.
turn counterclockwise so that the stop 72 present on the lever 85 engages behind the pin 59 on the lever pawl 60, preventing the release button 50 from being depressed.
When reloading a fresh roll of film and after closing the camera, the counter is turned by hand until the pin 69 arrives at the end of the cam 81 and the ilebel 85 has been turned clockwise by the cam so that the release button 50 can be pressed down.
When the release button 50 returns, the counter is set to allow your pin 69 to engage in an interdental space in the inner ratchet teeth 68. The camera can then be closed and opened a number of times in order to transport the paper advance of the film, each time pressing the release button 50 until the cam recess 83 in the cam ring 8 \? the lever 85. See you to turn counterclockwise again to lock the release button 50 again.
In this position, the pin 69 on the pawl lever 27 engages in the cams 99. So is. reached the first position. The counter is then turned one graduation further by hand.
The .Stift 69 is still in engagement with the cam catch 99, while the catch 83 is out of engagement with the lever 85. The cam 82 rotates this lever clockwise, releasing the release button 50 and allowing the first shot.
The release button 50 is provided with two interlocking parts, the first of which is designed so that the release button cannot be pressed in a second time after a picture has been taken until the camera has been closed to transport the film.
The second part is arranged so that movement of the release button is not possible when the camera is in the closed position, that is, not in the open position; took apart the position of Fig.1, is located.
The first connecting part consists of a connecting lever 70 which is housed in the housing wing 5 at 71 rotating bar. The lever 70 has a pawl surface 72 which comes into engagement with the pin 59, after which the cam 97 of the toothed segment 14 has come out of engagement with the pawl 27, d. H. after a picture is taken. The release button 50 cannot then be pressed again until the camera has been closed to advance the film. As a result, the cam 97 latches on the toothed segment 14 again with the pawl 27, ready for the next recording. In this position, the connec tion lever 70 is held out of the way of the pin 59 by engaging its pin 74 with the surface 75 on the toothed segment 14 out.
The second connecting part consists of a lever 76 which is urged clockwise by a spring and which is articulated at 77 on the wing part 5. The lever 76 has a pawl surface 78 which is moved so that it lies behind the pin 59 when the camera is closed by the abutment of the end 79 of the Lever 76 on a fixed cam surface 80 which is attached to the central part 1 of the camera.
When the camera is extended to the position shown in Fig. 3 for shooting, movement of the lever 76 about the pin 77 with respect to the cam surface 80 allows the lever 76 to rotate clockwise, the locking mechanism. klinkenflä.che 78 is taken out behind the pin 59.
The action of the shutter mechanism during film recording is as follows. When the release button 50 is pressed down, the movement is transmitted by the pin 59 (FIG. 6) to the lever arm 49 on the lever 98 (FIG. 4) in such a way that the other arm 48 of the lever 98 moves the arm 47 (FIG. 5) of the toggle lever 46 to pawl the arm 41 of the lever 38 from the locking device 88 to release.
The lever 38 (FIG. 4) rotates under the pressure of the spring 43 (FIG. 5) to move the lever 35 and, through the pin 37, the locking arm 30 to remove the shutter 29 from the opening of the lens 2.
The lever arm 40 slides over the end of the lever 35 and allows the lock arm 30 to return to its starting position and thus to close the lock.
When the mechanism is in this position, a second exposure cannot be made until after the pawl 27, which cooperates with the cam stop 97, has been actuated and the camera has closed and opened as a result of the action of the shutter release link 70.
When the closing and opening of the camera takes place, the end 41 of the lever 38 comes to rest with the cam 42 which is formed on the fixed center piece 1 of the camera (FIG. 5) and is pushed back to the ratchet surface 88 of the toggle lever 46 to engage.
During this movement, the arm 40 of the lever 38 engages in the lever 35 (FIG. 4) and rotates it counterclockwise against the) action of its spring 36 until the end of the lever 38 slides beyond the end of the lever 35 thereby enabling the lever 35 to return to its original position while the shutter 29 is still closed.
The shutter shown has two speeds, one for snapshots and another for time exposures. The method of obtaining the snapshot has been described above. The time recording is described below.
The shutter speed control is shown at 90 in FIG. 5 and is housed in the wing part 5 below the counter 65 (FIG. 6). The part 90 is rotatably mounted on .dein wing part 5, and its cam 55 rests on the arm 54 of the angle lever 51 in the way that has already been described for the momentary acquisition.
The component 90 carries a second cam 91 and a catch 92 into which the end 93 of the spring 43 engages in the moment position.
To take a time recording, the speed controller 90 controlled by; is accessible outside the camera, turned counter-clockwise until the surface of the cam 91 lifts the end 93 of the spring 43, whereby the tension of this spring is increased and the catch 9 ″ is brought next to the arm 54 of the lever 51 .
This causes the angle lever 51 to rotate in the clockwise direction until the cam 56 at the end of this lever is in the path of the arm 41 of the lever 38 (FIG. 4). When the shutter release button 50 is pressed to release the shutter in the normal way, the lever arm 51 can turn just enough that the shutter lever 30 is held in the open position without the end 40 of the lever 38 over the lever.
35 runs out. As a result, the closure is held open as the closure release button 50 is pressed down.
When the pressure of the shutter release button 50 is stopped, the angle lever 51 moves in a counterclockwise direction as a result of the pressure from the lever 98. As a result, the arm 41 can step on the lever 38 into the notch space j behind the cam 56 on the end of the lever 51.
If the camera is opened without taking a picture, the film will not be advanced when the camera is closed again. Rather, it lays itself back in Sehleifenforin in the Rauin surrounding the pre-crack coil (Fig. 3). The folding moves the --- film from the image plane into the wing part 4, which surrounds the <, coil 9. The film transport mechanism remains latched into the cam stop 97 on the toothed segment 14 due to the engagement of the pawl lever 27.
