Elektrostatischer Entstaubungsapparat.
Electrostatic dust extractor. The invention relates to an electrostatic dust collector. An electrostatic dust extractor, which is frequently used to remove dust from air, has an ionizing chamber with ionizing wires and associated non-discharging ionizing electrodes, in which the dust particles receive electrostatic charges, as well as a collecting chamber with spaced-apart collecting plates that are grounded apart and are electrically charged.
The ionizer wires have a potential of approximately 13,000 volts and the charged collector plates have a potential of approximately 6,000 volts.
No discharge between adjacent charged and grounded plates of such a device occurs when fibers, hair or the like get between the plates. This discharge is equivalent to a short circuit against which the power source can counteract without the use of protective devices such as e.g. B. fuses and switches, which require the attention of an operator, must be protected. There are already automatic self-protection devices have been used, which usually have a step-up transformer with primary circuit of high reactance.
These devices are successful in preventing short-circuit damage to the power source, but their voltage regulation under normal loads is not entirely satisfactory.
The purpose of the present invention is to avoid this disadvantage. This is achieved according to the invention in that the alternating current winding of a choke coil with a saturable core is connected in series with the primary winding of the step-up transformer and a direct current winding attached to the core of the choke coil is excited via a rectifier by a voltage tapped from the transformer primary balance, so that a reduction in the primary voltage of the transformer caused by an overload reduces the excitation of the manned direct current winding, which increases the reactance of the choke coil. becomes.
An embodiment of the invention is illustrated in the drawing.
The dust extractor has a step-up transformer 10 with a secondary winding 11, one end of which is connected to the anode of a rectifier tube 12, the cathode of which is connected to the secondary winding 13 of an electrical transformer 14, with one end of the resistor 15 and to which one of two capacitors 16 and 17 connected in series is connected.
The other end of the resistor 15 is connected to the ionizing wire 20 of an electrode assembly 18 and supplies this with a positive potential of approximately 13,000 volts.
A tap 21 on the winding 11 is connected to the wire of another rectifier tube 22, the anode of which is grounded and connected to the capacitor 17. The cathode of the tube 22 is connected to the secondary circuit 23 of the stimulus transformer 14. At the junction of capacitors 16 and 17, a voltage of approximately 6000 volts occurs. The circuit described so far is a variant of a known voltage doubling circuit.
The electrode assembly 18 is of a known construction, with ionizing wires 20 charged to about 13,000 volts between grounded, tubular ionizing counter-electrodes 25 and with grounded receiving plates 26, between which collecting plates 27 are arranged, which stood via a resistor 19 are charged to about 6000 volts. The collecting plates are usually at a distance of approximately S mm from each other and occasionally a relatively large object happens, e.g. B. a thread, a fiber or even a beetle between adjacent plates, causing a discharge.
This is more common when the panels are covered with dust, reducing their effective spacing. The output voltage of the step-up transformer 10 is now to be made to drop sharply as soon as such a discharge occurs, in order to prevent short-circuit damage. However, this voltage regulation should not cause any significant reduction in the output voltage during normal load increases, since the ionization current for the effective electrostatic charging of the dust particles should remain essentially constant, and this requires an essentially constant DC voltage on the wires 20.
The voltage regulating circuit now to be described provides the necessary sharp reduction in voltage in the event of overload and an at least approximately constant voltage during normal loads. The primary winding 30 of the transformer 10 is on the one hand directly connected to one of the single-phase lines 31 and on the other hand via the alternating current winding 32 of a choke coil 33 with a saturable core to the other line 31. Furthermore, the winding 30 is also connected at its ends to a full-wave rectifier with four selenium rectifier elements 35. The DC output of the rectifier is connected through a variable resistor 36 to the DC winding 37 attached to the core of the choke coil 33.
An overload indicating lamp 33 is connected to the inductor winding 32 and a normal operation indicating lamp 39 to the transformer primary winding 30 connected.
In operation, an increased load on the transformer 10 causes an increased voltage drop on the AC winding 32 of the saturable choke coil. This reduces the voltage on the primary winding 30, the transformer output voltage and the AC voltage on the rectifier 34. This in turn leads to a reduced DC voltage from the rectifier 34 to the DC winding 37 of the saturable choke coil.
This in turn calls. an increase in the reactance of the winding 32 and a further decrease in the voltage at the Primäx @ wieklung of the transformer 10, whereby the voltage from the secondary circuit is further reduced. becomes. This effect is cumulative and results in a sharp reduction in tension in the event of overload.
The secondary voltage is constant in the normal load range. At the overload point, however, the secondary voltage drops sharply. This results in the desired uniform DC voltages for suitable ionization and absorption in the entire normal load range, while in the event of an overload these voltages rise so sharply that the transformer or any synchronizing device can no longer be damaged.
This is. Hoelierwünseht for electrostatic dedusting devices that have to work without supervision and where the material is usually burned. If fuses or circuit-breakers were used for overload protection, the fuses would have to be replaced and the circuit-breakers reset, the apparatus being switched off during these operations.
During normal operation, the voltage drop across the transformer primary winding is relatively large, so that the indicator lamp 39 lights up. The voltage drop across the winding 32 of the saturable choke coil is relatively low, so that the lamp 38 does not light up. If an abnormal load occurs, the voltage across the transformer winding 30 will decrease and the lamp 39 will go out, while the voltage across the choke coil winding 32 will increase and the lamp 38 will illuminate. D) the operating state of the dust removal apparatus is thus indicated by the two lamps.
The direct current voltage applied to the ionizing wires should advantageously be adjustable, since a maximum ionization current without corona discharges is desirable for the most effective electrostatic charging of the dust particles. By setting the variable resistor 36 while observing a voltmeter 40 connected to the ionizing wire 20 and ground, the voltage can be changed so that it is most effective for a particular operating condition.
There is another advantage of the circuit described. in that no vacuum tubes are required to excite the traction current winding of the saturable choke coil.
Another advantage is that the organs used for voltage regulation are located in the low voltage transformer primary circuit, in which the insulation does not present any difficulties.
