Fluidum-Rotationsmaschine.

In seiner-einfachsten.

Fluidum rotary machine. The subject of the present invention is a fluid rotary machine of the displacement flap type, for example a pump or a motor.
The invention makes it possible to create a machine of the type mentioned which works with good efficiency at both high and low pressures, which runs smoothly and which is cheaper to manufacture than known machines of this type.
The rotary machine according to the invention has a plurality of rotors arranged in a housing, each rotor having at least one displacement flap which is connected with. at least one adjacent rotor rotating in the opposite direction interacts.
This pocket is characterized in that at least one of the rotors has a longitudinal recess and a radial recess arranged next to a displacement tab, which is at least temporarily connected to the longitudinal recess and to the working area of the machine, where the smallest The width of the radial recess, measured in the circumferential direction, is greater than the height of the lobe of an adjacent rotor, which is intended to temporarily engage in this recess.
On the basis of the accompanying, partially cal matic drawings, a few examples of execution of the subject invention are explained in more detail; 1 to 4 show cross sections through a compressor in four different working positions, FIG. 7 shows a PV diagram of this compressor, FIG. 6 shows a larger scale.
Detail partially in section, FIG. 7 a partial riadial section showing a displacement flap, FIGS. 8 to 11 different designs of the rotor, bearings and channels, FIGS. 12 and 13 details of control organs, FIG. 14 with an example two rotors with two lobes each, Fig. 15 and 16 versions with three rotors, Fig. 17 an example with rotors of different sizes,
Fig. 1 $ an example with means for a set of a movable control member, Fig. 19 with an example. Means for the automatic setting of the control elements and Fig. 20 and 21 examples whose housing has openings for the inlet of the working medium.
Figures 1 to 4 show schematically the work cycle of a compressor with two Ro gates, each of which has a single cloth. The interior of the housing 1 is seated in cross section in the shape of an 8, similar to a Roots blower. The rotors a and b are two hollow cylinders, each provided with a flap 2 or 3, which rotate in the housing 1 and are connected by a transmission so that they are mitein other with. same speed, but can be driven in opposite directions to each other, namely via two outer, not shown gears.
Each cylinder has, as mentioned, a Lap pen 2 or 3, which extends to the inside of the housing in the positions in question. The cylinders each have a slot J or 5, which is arranged on the front side of the tab 3 of the outlet rotor b and on the back of the tab 2 of the inlet rotor a, with each slot being wider at the narrowest point, measured in the circumferential direction is than the radial height of the tabs measured from the outside of the rotor, so that the passage of the latter through the slots is ensured with each revolution.
The slots J, 5 lead into the axial inner recess 6 or 7 of the cylinder and serve as an air inlet or outlet opening. Lines are arranged on one or both ends of the housing and are connected to the internal recesses of the rotors.
Because the inner recess of the exhaust rotor cut in cross section. is circular and concentric to the rotor, a stationary circular arc-shaped control member 8 can be installed. his, which determines the degree of compression he reached before opening the outlet opening 5.
On the other hand, an automatic adjustment of the control member can also be provided, which only opens the outlet opening when the compression pressure is slightly higher. than the pressure in the outlet line. If no control element is provided, the height of the tab can be selected so that its outer edge can protrude over the inner surface of the housing into the inner recess of the adjacent rotor; Otherwise, the flap is of such a height that when it passes through the slot or 5, its outer edge at the point on the connecting line between the centers of the two rotors extends approximately to the outer boundary of the inner recess of the adjacent rotor.
Figs. 1 to -I represent four individual phases of the work cycle.
1 shows the situation immediately before the start of the compression period. At this moment is. the whole housing is filled with air at atmospheric pressure and the tabs are about to come into temporary sealing engagement with one another (that is, with a clearance of a few hundredths of a centimeter). Each rotation of the rotors beyond the appropriate point reduces the volume of the working space between the front sides of the flaps, whereby the air is compressed. The control element 8 prevents air from escaping through the outlet cutouts 7.
Just as the volume in front of the flaps decreases, the volume behind the flaps increases, with a fresh air bubble being sucked in through the inlet space 6.
The compression continues until the required pressure is reached, with the outlet opening 5 opening as shown in FIG. The compressed air. is then ejected until the position shown in FIG. 3 is reached. is.
From this moment on to the position according to FIG. J and beyond this position until the end of the working cycle back to the position shown in FIG. 1 (dead period), there is no more change in volume, so that the outlet opening can be closed and the discharge is finished.
On the inlet side, however, the opening and line losses cause a pressure drop at the inlet and this is compensated for by the fact that the inlet opening is left open during this dead period. This feature has two advantages.
On the one hand, the inlet opening can be left open during the entire working cycle, and an inlet control element is thus superfluous, and, on the other hand, all losses that would be caused by the opening and closing times of such an element are eliminated.
The working cycle is to be explained in more detail below using the pV diagram in FIG. 5. Begins at point r1. the air inlet, whereby the inlet speed increases up to point R. The effective displacement volume of the flaps is increased by covering the inlet flap with the outlet flap. From point 13 on, the inlet flow has a constant speed and thus the inlet negative pressure is constant.
At point C, the tabs come into sealing engagement with one another, and since the effective displacement volume of the tabs is reduced here, the inlet negative pressure decreases. After the suction has ended, the inlet negative pressure is released during the dead period mentioned above and the pressure can at the beginning due to the centrifugal loading effect of the inlet opening and the vibration effect in the inlet line
the compression even rise above atmospheric pressure. At point D, at which atmospheric pressure At is assumed, a full turn is complete and the air is now on the compression side of the flap. Up to the point. E is now compression to the pressure De, at which point the outlet opening opens, and since the opening speed is relatively high, the pressure between points E and F rises only slightly until it reaches the point F to expel the air through the outlet opening provided constant value assumes.
Between points G and H, the reduction in the effective displacement volume of the flaps causes a reduction in the outflow velocity until it becomes -zero and the outlet opening closes (Fig. 3). Between points H and J, the small amount of air in the dead space between the intake flap and the exhaust control member is supplied to the intake air.
The volume at point z1 should correspond to the dead volume in the inlet opening and since this volume is carried along from work cycle to work cycle, it can be neglected. A feature that cannot be seen from the PV diagram, but can be taken from FIG. 1, is that the compression begins before the connection between the inlet opening and the compression chamber is interrupted.
This is made possible by the operating speed, since after the time after which the pressure increase at the inlet opening would take effect, the trailing edge of this opening has exceeded the plane in which the rotor axes lie. and the compression space is closed at the rear. If, for example, the speed of the flap is equal to one tenth of the speed of sound, the rotor rotates by a tenth of a revolution, that is to say by 36, while the compression pressure wave would run through a whole rotor revolution.
Every reduction in the dead volume in the outlet opening at the end of the compression increases the efficiency of the work cycle, since this reduces the volume of the hot air released into the inlet air. This volume can be reduced to a very small value if the flaps and openings are shaped as described below.
In its-simplest. Execution forms the outer side of the flap facing away from the opening 4 or :) a convex arcuate surface, while its opposite concave side is designed according to the path of the other flap. The convex surface of the inlet lobe (lobe of the inlet rotor) is rounded so that it can pass the front outer edge of the outlet opening.
The outlet lobe (lobe of the exhaust rotor) can be shaped on the basis of other considerations, that is, for reasons of economy, the same as the inlet lobe, or in such a way that a good air inlet is guaranteed during the dead period, or that a better mass distribution is used to balance the rotor is achieved. This type of training is particularly suitable for small pressure conditions; at high pressure conditions, however, it is advantageous to keep the dead volume smaller.
Well-rounded edges on the outlet opening, as shown at 9 and 10 in FIG. 6, increase the discharge coefficient of the opening so that the opening itself can be smaller than with straight and sharp side edges. In order to be able to follow the curved edge 9, the inlet flap 2 must have a wider base, since the angles a (Fig. 6) must be the same.
If in a special Ausfüh tion the apex of the flap 2 would receive a considerable distance from the outlet Steiierorgan 8, then. a further reduction of the dead space by enlarging the outer diameter of the flap, as shown in FIG. 6 at point 12, is possible. However, this requires a larger housing recess on the inlet side and the cutting off of the rear edge of the tab 2, as shown at 13 in FIG. 6, in order to allow the passage of the outlet tab.
The leading edge 14 of the flap 2 is rounded to make it possible to pass the control member. As a result of the design mentioned, the dead volume can be reduced to more than 1.1200 of the swept volume, with sufficient opening squares still being available. Another advantage is that the wider flap of the inlet rotor helps to compensate for the weight loss through the large inlet opening.
If there is more than one rag per rotor, the air is expelled from the dead rim into the guided space mentioned below before the compression begins in this space.
The leakage air that comes from the compression chamber past the edges of the lobes into the intake chamber reduces the effect of the work cycle; however, these losses are greatly reduced if there is another leakage path into the atmosphere. This is achieved in that a slot 15 - compare FIGS. 6 and 7 - is cut around each tab and communicates with openings in the end plates of the housing.
These openings can also serve to let out air that would otherwise escape past the rotor ends (Fig. 7). In a preferred embodiment according to FIGS. 6 and 7, a cavity 16 is provided under the edge surface of the flap and opens out through a narrow slot 15 into the edge surface. This slot is sufficient for the discharge of leakage air, but is not so large that a larger amount of air can escape during the period in which the flaps are engaged.
The mentioned cavity under half of the slot has a sufficient cross section that Leekluft can escape without generating excessive counter pressure.
Since the warm Leekluft lowers the efficiency of the work cycle, for example, cold, compressed air or another fluid can be blown through the slot into the work space, so that the slot is closed during the compression by means of never-tensioned air or the like. In this way, a certain cooling of the work process can also be achieved. If there is more than one cloth per rotor, it will escape. the leakage air or the supplied cold air into the following, led around volume and is. consequently not. lost.
There are various options for arranging and storing the rotors, and three of them are briefly mentioned below.
The first and simplest type, shown in FIG. 8, is the overhung rotor. This results in a very simple construction that requires no lines. However, the rotors must be short and the distance between the bearings of the rotor shaft should be large. Better storage of the rotors can be achieved in that the rotor shaft is guided through the internal recess to an external bearing (FIG. 9), although lines are necessary.
In order to obtain a continuous air supply, two rotors according to FIG. 7.0 can be arranged back against back, with their lobes being set at 180 to one another.
With this training, continuous air delivery can be achieved at pressures of the order of magnitude of 1.75 kg / cm; this also results in a smoother drive torque and lower bearing loads. Oil chambers which are connected to the outlet channel balance the flow through the end lines, so that the outlet losses are reduced. As a further variant, two rotors according to FIG. 11 can be arranged on the fly.
According to this FIG. 10, the rotors of one of two individual machines are arranged at one end of several shafts, the other ends of which carry the rotors of the other individual shafts. Here, a set of shaft bearings and gear wheels coupling the shafts with each other are provided between the rotor sets of these individual machines.
In the examples shown in FIGS. 9 and 10, the inlet and outlet lines can be approximately chordal diffusers which collect or release the air in the rotational direction of the rotors. Vortex or straightening blades can be placed in the mouth of the outlet and inlet cavity in order to improve the air flow.
The control member is arranged in the housing 1., With little play between your control member and the inside of the rotor is sen. The 'control organ can take the form of a rilatten. Arch pieces have, or it can be provided on the outside with teeth 17, which give a better air seal (Fig.12).
According to FIG. 13, the control member 19 is adjustable, a sleeve partially designed as a grid 1.8 being arranged between it and the rotor. The position of this rotatable, circular arc-shaped organ 19 determines the point at which the outlet opening is opened. It can be set manually or automatically to ensure that the compressor works with optimum efficiency at each respective outlet pressure.
Another such example will be mentioned again later.
14 shows an example with two lobes per rotor. Compressed air is expelled from room X, a fresh air charge is sucked into room Y, and the air charge previously sucked in is enclosed in room Z and passed between the rags. Effected under these circumstances. High pressure leakage air that escapes past the rag, a pressure increase in the air charge carried around in room Z, before the compression begins in this rainas.
In addition, the heat transfer from the metal surfaces increases the temperature of those in the rooms Z. Air that cools this surface as a result of the heat absorption, which reduces the risk of warping of this surface. As a result of this design, the total volume of the inlet zone corresponds to four times the space Z during each revolution and is also greater than what would be achievable if only one flap was used per rotor.
The greatest losses in compressors with play between the work stations originate from leakage, in this case from leakage losses in the lobes and between the cylinders carrying the lobes. As a result of the rolling effect, the play between the cylinders is very small, but there must be enough play between the tabs and the housing. The design with two lobes per rotor has the great advantage that these leakage losses cause a first compression stage.
During the main part of the pressure period of the work cycle, the leakage air passes the cloths into the closed space of the next compression period and thus increases the pressure in this area. Enclosing this leakage air is doubly advantageous as it cannot be mixed with the inlet air. If such a mixture were to take place, the temperature of the intake air would rise and, consequently, the work of compression as well. and the outlet temperature.
A second feature of the working period during which air is led around in room Z, as already indicated, is that fresh air comes into contact with the metal walls heated during the previous compression. This has the consequence that the risk of Warping under the influence of heat, which is always a serious problem with positive displacement compressors, is greatly reduced.
The effect of this heat exchange on the efficiency of the work cycle can be neglected. The gain in pressure by preheating the load at a constant volume and the advantage of cooling through the cooled walls during compression is countered by the increased workload when compressing the load at a higher initial temperature.
The volumetric displacement "of FIG. 11a with two lobes per rotor is four times the enclosed volume per revolution, minus the dead volume between the lobes, and is also greater than the entire ring.
space of the machine with one rag per rotor, by around 10%. In order to be able to take full advantage of this enlargement,. it is expedient, as shown in FIG. 19, to attach openings 1 'in the inside corner of the housing 1, in order to be able to bypass the tabs in the position shown in FIG.
This enables further filling; the right space with air as soon as the front outer edge of the lobe of the inlet rotor is removed from this space. Similar bypass openings can be provided in the upper housing to compensate for the small pressure difference that occurs at the beginning of direct compression.
The value of these openings decreases with increasing outlet pressure, since the outlet control element only opens some time after the connection of the zones; the small unevenness at the beginning of the compression has only a negligible small influence on the overall efficiency. Bypassing the two sharp corners through openings improves the air flow in the housing and thus reduces the inlet and outlet losses.
In the inlet rotor (Fig. 14) a control organ 8 'is necessary to seal the compression s-tone during the first part of the compression, and the control organ it stretches over about 180 to close off the space led around and thus the formation to enable Leek compression. Since the inlet period only lasts for half a rotor revolution, this control unit cannot reduce the value noticeably: opening time X cross section.
The arc occupied by the outlet control element is much larger than with the machine with one rag per rotor, and since the opening speed is the same as the closing speed, the value: time X (cut-out of the outlet opening.
The reduction is not great at low pressure; However, it can make the achievable axial pressure smaller than that of the Masehine with one lobe per rotor.
A rotor with two lobes and two openings that are diametrically opposed to each other can be completely balanced. This is particularly advantageous, as it results in synthetic stress.
The fact that no adjustment recesses are necessary results in greater freedom for the designer and enables larger flaps, openings and rotor openings. The working cycles per revolution prevent the size of the: Changes in the drive torque, so that no rotor-flywheel effect is unnecessary and light metal alloys @ could be used.
At low pressures, the air delivery is almost continuous and the delivery takes place at a constant speed for most of the work cycle.
Three two-lobe rotors arranged next to each other in a line result in four working cycles per revolution, compared to only two working cycles with two two-lobe rotors. However, this design has the disadvantage that the compression when the rotors rotate begins late, due to the incompleteness of the oversection of the middle rotor.
In this case, the compression only begins when the lobe units each come to the surface. Pass two housing recesses. Apart from the increased displacement volume, this design has the advantage that the middle rotor is balanced with respect to the 1) back stress on the bearings.
The cavity of this rotor is used either as a common outlet or as a common inlet, depending on the direction of rotation. In the latter case, it is advantageous to omit the inlet control element and to make the cavity larger than that of the individual outlet rotors in order to reduce the losses which occur when the larger volume of air is throughput.
The arc required for a compression and discharge period becomes smaller as the number of lobes increases, and if three lobes are provided per rotor, a three-lobe machine 2 X 3 (2 rotors to 3 lobes) can be designed in such a way that they approximately the same work cycle results as the two-lobe machine (2 X \?)
with the exception of the reduction in the Leek compression periods. Such a 3 machine can compete well with a 2 X 2 machine, the greater displacement per revolution compensating for the lower speed which is necessary to achieve the same values for opening time X cross section. Both outer and inner rotors can contain the outlet space, depending on the direction of rotation, as shown in FIGS. 15 and 16 represents.
An advantageous feature of the example according to Pig. 16 is that the only outlet space in the central rotor is able to take up the alternating delivery periods without noticeable interference.
It is also possible to use more than three tabs per rotor, which, however, results in a reduction in the value: opening time X cross-section. The individual rotors can also have a different number of lobes, provided that the (drive wheels have a number of teeth proportional to the number of lobes of the associated rotors. The length of the central arch of the housing can be increased by making the central rotor a larger diameter with a suitable design, two tabs are provided on the outer rotors and three tabs on the middle rotor.
This makes it possible to provide such large opening cross-sections as with a normal 2 X 2 1 VI machine.
Fig. 17 shows such an example with three rotors, of which the middle one has three and the two outer two lobes. The inlet space 6 is provided in the middle rotor, while the exit takes place via the recesses 7 in the outer rotors. A transmission is provided, via which the outer rotors and the central rotor can be driven at appropriate speeds.
It is not absolutely necessary to arrange the axis of the third or further rotors in the same plane as the axes of the two other rotors. As a result, if at least three tabs per rotor are used, further rotors can be added until a complete ring is formed. Such a machine only works if there are an even number of rotors to maintain the correct direction of rotation. Other geometrical arrangements can be made if appropriate sets of meshing gears are provided.
The smaller opening cross-sections with more than two tabs per rotor make it advantageous to open and close the openings more quickly. The natural speed for this process is the peripheral speed of the rotor recess; but since the relative speed between opening and control element determines the opening speed, this can be increased by turning the control element in the opposite direction to the direction of rotation of the rotor.
For example, known means can be used to convert the constant rotational movement of the Ro gates into an oscillating movement of the control member. 18 shows, for example, a crank 20 which is driven by the rotor via the wheels 21 and 22 and the shaft 23.
The radius of the crank 20 is adjustable by the mechanism 24 shown schematically, while the phase ratio between control member 25 and rotor 26 is adjustable by means of the schematically shown mechanism through which the relative angular setting of the gears 21 and 22 can be changed, the cure Bel Mechanism can be so. be driven so that it rotates once during the opening period, so that the control element moves with its opening edge towards the approaching opening at the opening point, then swings back during the open period and at the closing point it approaches the opening again.
With such an arrangement, changes in the phase setting and the crank radius can be used to control the degree of compression that can be achieved before promotion.
Depending on the setting of the control organ (s), the machine works as a compression, expansion or normal conveying machine and can therefore be used for any purpose corresponding to these work processes.
Some of such uses are, for example: charging of internal combustion engines, pressure generators for aircraft overpressure cabins, compressors for gas turbines or generator systems, displacement pumps for liquids, compressors for industrial purposes, suction fans for vacuum devices or motors for the delivery of power that is caused by displacement or Expansion of gases or vapors is obtained.
The advantage of the machine for any purpose requiring compression, expansion or displacement of a fluid lies in the pure rotary motion and, with the appropriate design, the high efficiency and small dimensions. Other advantages result from special training and use of this machine, which will be explained in more detail below.
The working principle of the machine is the same for all purposes and the differences of age only exist in the different setting universities or the control organs. 19 shows a cross section through the rotors of a laser line with adjustable, circular-arc-shaped control elements 27 and 28 arranged in each rotor.
Turning the adjustable segment 27 in the inlet rotor 29 counterclockwise shortens the length of the inlet period and thus controls the amount of fluid supplied to the machine. Turning the adjustable segment 28 in the outlet rotor 30 counterclockwise increases the Kowpressions- degree before the promotion begins.
The necessary delivery pressure; is determined by the relative capacities of the compressor and the pressurized machine, and the air supplied should have this pressure for effective operation. In order to achieve this, the rotatable segment 28 is connected to a device 31 which responds to pressure and is actuated by the difference between the outlet pressure and the coinpressure pressure.
Certain internal combustion engines only need to be loaded when the load is high, and, since the known loads result in the same overhang under all loads, there is always a large excess of power with small loads.
This disadvantage can be remedied in that the compressor according to FIG. 19 (read organ 27 in the inlet rotor 29 is connected to the engine throttle, as indicated by the arrow 32. So that When the throttle is closed, the amount of air delivered per work cycle is also reduced.
In gasoline engines, the amount of fuel supplied is proportional to the amount of air delivered and in this case the power can be regulated within a wide range, and during a large part of the operating range the control by means of the element 24 takes over the work of the normal throttle valve. Such a control is particularly advantageous in that it reduces the throttle lot and thus. the efficiency of the work cycle increases with small loads.
In a special case, the blower inlet volume at full load can be made smaller than the stroke volume of the machine, so that the inlet pressure of the machine is always lower. than atmospheric pressure. In this case, the compression ratio of the machine and the efficiency of the work cycle can be increased without increasing the maximum pressure.
In order to keep the fuel mixture warm enough so that combustion temperature is reached after compression in the cylinder, the exhaust gas heat or any other suitable method can be used for heating.
Since the two-stroke diesel engine requires both a high charge and a large excess of flushing lift in order to be able to work under heavy loads, the charging performance is considerable. In the case of a small load, it comprises a large part of the overall performance and is therefore. fuel consumption is also high.
When using a charging blower of the type described, the inlet member can with. be coupled to the machine throttle valve, so that the machine is only fed a small amount of air with kleini ner load; the supercharger then requires less power and fuel consumption is lower.
In order to achieve maximum efficiency, the outlet control element of such a supercharger can be controlled by a device that responds to pressure and is arranged in the supercharger outlet; this may be unnecessary if the required change in air volume is only small. This is because a reduction in the amount of air drawn in at the beginning of the compression causes a lower pressure and thus a lower delivery pressure, which is generally required when the air flow is reduced.
On the other hand, a corresponding compressor can also be used as a normal displacement compressor if the inlet or inlet and outlet control elements remain fixed.
In addition to the advantage of the oil-free air supply, an appropriately designed compressor fulfills other conditions. In order to keep the interior di-tick in an aircraft cabin roughly the same as the atmospheric pressure, it must be possible to increase the compression steadily with increasing flight altitude. At the same time, the amount of air supplied to the passenger compartment should remain constant. These conditions can be met by turning the inlet = control element clockwise as the flight altitude increases, so that a constant amount of air is sucked in per work cycle.
This is achieved by ge articulated connection of the control member with a device (Fig. 19a) that speaks to the pressure of the surrounding atmosphere. It can also work. are obtained by expelling the air supplied to the cabin into the atmosphere by using an expansion machine that works as an air motor. This can be a separate machine or a machine forming a unit with the pressure generator.
The compressor is also suitable with appropriate training especially for Ver use in gas turbines or gas generators, as it is due to the internal compression and due to the non-occurrence of pumping. high pressure ratio can work. The connection of the control element for the inlet opening to the fuel system via the handlebars allows a rapid load change without the risk of the turbine blades overheating.
By reducing the length of the outlet valve so that it is open for the duration of the inlet period, the machine can be referred to as a displacement machine. In this case, it can act as a pump for incompressible fluids and has the advantage that it has a better volumetric efficiency than normal pumps. This advantage stems from the centrifugal loading effect of the rotating inlet opening, which reduces losses, as often caused by cavitation in normal gear pumps.
The adjustable inlet control element together with the control of the A-LLSlass control element can be used particularly where a variable fluid flow rate is required at constant speed.
A compressor of the type described, which has high operating speed and small dimensions. and is relatively inexpensive, is particularly suitable for use as a normal industrial compressor in connection with pneumatic tools or any work process that requires air, gas or steam under pressure.
Especially when constant speed is important, the air volume can be changed by regulating the adjustable control elements.
With a high compression ratio, the compressor is particularly suitable for use as a fan. In this case, the machine takes in low-pressure gas, compresses it to atmospheric pressure and discharges it at this pressure. Fixed control units can be used for normal systems.
The adjustable control elements are provided if certain conditions are set, for example the control of the flowing mass or good efficiency with different degrees of vacuum. In a special design of such a pump, either an adjustable inlet control element,
An adjustable outlet control valve or a blow-off valve is provided so that no excessive pressures can build up in the machine when the inlet pressure is close to atmospheric pressure.
Most compressors can be used as iotors when pressurized gas or steam is available; But only such machines produce high degrees of efficiency in which internal expansion occurs.
This internal expansion can be achieved by the inlet control member closing early so that it can expand the working fluid until the end of the normal inlet period. If no internal compression is required, the exhaust valve is open throughout the period during which the lobes are approaching each other; this then forms the discharge hub.
If an adjustable inlet control member is provided, variable shutdown can be made, as in steam engines, and if the engine is designed in this way, it forms a 3lasehine between the steam turbine and the steam turbine, FIG. 20 shows a pump with. two Ro gates, each having two lobes and an opening 33 is provided in the housing through which air is sucked from the atmosphere.
In this example, the inlet opening is not arranged in the rotor, but rather it is. a single opening; 33 provided in the housing. One rotor is designed as a solid body, but is provided with recesses (depressions) 34 in order to allow the outer rotor flaps to pass through. This training allows one to be extremely.
large opening now, cross-section. to be provided, whereby the reduction of the anaea losses cancels out the losses due to the lack of centrifugal loading effect and the larger losses during the period of intervention of the flaps.
In the modified exemplary embodiment (according to FIG. 21, the inlet opening 33 is arranged in the housing, while both rotors have outlet openings 3: 5.
The dead space is also increased here, which results in a reduction in the effective wheel; on the other hand, the throughput is increased due to the higher rotor speed at the same gas speed through the openings.
The openings 3.5 in the rotor b are, as described earlier, on the front of each tab, while the openings 3: 5 of the other rotor a partially pass through each tab, on the front side of the tab. The outlet openings of the rotor a are controlled by a control element 8a to determine the opening point as in the normal outlet rotor b.
On the rotor a, recesses 36 are provided for the lobes of the rotor b to pass through. In the examples according to FIGS. 20 and 21, an opening 33a is provided in one end wall of the housing, which on the one hand communicates with the inlet opening 33 of the Teliäuses and on the other hand with that space 37 that is between two cooperating lap - pen on the back of one flap,
when the other flap slides outwards along this back. This connection prevents that an undesirable vacuum can form in space 37 and in the adjoining recesses 34 and 36, respectively.
The invention is of course not limited to the exemplary embodiments described, but the most diverse: Variants are possible without going beyond the scope of the invention. For example, the tabs of two rotors that work together can have different radial heights.
