System for generating compressed useful air. The invention relates to a system for generating compressed I \ Tutzluft, the benefit t 'by a gas turbine system. own compressor is driven to compress their working fluid.
In more recent times. efforts are known to accelerate combustion processes - especially in blast furnaces - by increasing the pressure of the combustion air. The pressures fall into the range of pressures that are also sufficient for the operation of gas turbine systems. Other systems that consume air under pressure can also use. such pressures are operated.
Such systems enable particularly favorable control of the useful air dispenser. According to the invention, the compressor ter of the gas turbine system should generate a lower pressure than the useful air compressor, the latter being connected to the work path by means of the gas turbine system at one point via a line serving to regulate the operation, after its compression to its highest pressure and an organ in the control line be arranged for setting the flow cross-section.
The air is expediently guided into the conveying channel or into the adjoining conveying line of the gas turbine compressor, namely before it enters the recuperator. In principle, however, it would also be possible to connect the control line to the line of the working medium between the Re kupera.tor and the gas heater or to this itself. In the latter case, the air can be used as cooling air for the combustion chamber. walls serve.
The invention is explained in more detail below with reference to an embodiment of the subject invention shown schematically in the drawing Darge.
The system has a useful air compressor 1 which is driven by a gas turbine system. The gas turbine system essentially comprises the compressor 2, the combustion chamber 3, the gas turbine 4 and the recuperator 5. A gas, for example blast furnace gas, is used as fuel for the combustion chamber, which gas is produced by the compressor 6 the burner 7 is fed. This compressor is. Driven by the gas turbine 4 via a gear 8 increasing the speed.
The compressor 2 of the gas turbine system sucks in air from the atmosphere through line 9, compresses the same for example to a pressure of about -3 to 4 atmospheres and conveys it through line 10 into recuperator 5. Here it is through the gases from the gas turbine 4 is preheated and then passed through the line 11 into the combustion chamber 3. The fuel gas introduced by the burner 7 burns in the supplied air and heats it in the process. The 'produced gases pass through line 12 into turbine 4 and, after work, through line 13 into recuperator 5.
After they have transferred part of their heat to the freshly compressed air here, they flow out of the gas turbine system through line 14.
To regulate the power of the gas turbine system, the line 15, through which the fuel gas is fed to the burner 7, has a bypass line 16 through which, depending on the setting of the control element 17, part of the compressed fuel gas can flow back to the compressor 6. In order to avoid inadmissible heating of the gas, is. in the line 16, a cooler 18 is arranged, which cools the gas flowing back approximately to the temperature of the gas fed through the device 19. Also in line 15 is. a control element 20 is arranged, through which the control can be further refined.
The described gas turbine system is coupled to the useful air compressor 1 via a speed-increasing gearbox 21. This useful air compressor sucks in air via the line 22, for example, from the open air and does not convey it through the line 23 to a non. drawn consumption point, for example as combustion air in a blast furnace.
According to the invention, the compressor of the gas turbine system is dimensioned in such a way that it generates a lower pressure than the useful air compressor 1. The useful air compressor is used to regulate the delivery rate via the line 24. connected to the path of the working medium of the gas turbine system at a point 25 after its compression to its highest pressure. In the control line 24 there is also an element 26 which is used to set the flow cross section.
A discharge line 27 with a control element 28 is also connected to the control line 24, through which compressed air can be conducted to a point outside the system that has a lower pressure than the delivery line of the Nutzluftverdicht.ers.
About the gear 29 is. the gas turbine plant still with. coupled to an electrical machine, which in turn is connected to an electrical network 31. By adjusting the cross section of the control member 26 can see in a simple manner the amount of air conveyed through the line 23 to the point of consumption set accordingly as required. If the flow cross-section of the regulating element 26 is reduced, a larger amount of the air conveyed by the compressor 1 is generated. to the consumption point. Conversely, if the cross-section of the regulating member 26 is enlarged, there is a flow. a smaller amount of air to the point of consumption.
If the control element 26 is completely open, the delivery pressure of the useful air condenser 1 is reduced to an amount which is only higher by the pressure loss in the control line 24 than the delivery pressure of the compressor at point 25. In spite of this, the largest possible amount then flows through the unthrottled cross section from the compressor 1 into the gas turbine system, because the cross section of the control element is correspondingly larger.
If one wishes to further reduce the amount of air conducted through line 23 to the point of consumption, valve 28 in outflow line 27 is opened, utilizing a much greater pressure gradient, so that an even larger part of the air is removed from delivery line 23 . In this way, practically lossless control can be achieved within the normal operating range. In this way, the economic efficiency of the company can be significantly improved.
A further improvement in the regulation results from the use of an electrical machine 30. This machine runs synchronously with the network 31. If the gas turbine system generates a greater output than is required by the useful air compressor 1, the excess is in the form of electrical energy supplied to the network 31. Corresponds to the speed without changing. the dissipation of electrical energy is always the difference between the gas turbine output and the output required by the useful air compressor.
If the output of the gas turbine system should be less than the output required by the compressor 1, the electrical machine 30 works as a motor and supplements the turbine output.
In most cases it will be advisable to dimension the entire system in such a way that the electrical machine 30 can provide power to the network in every operating case. When the electrical machine is switched off, the blower turbine system can be operated at a higher or lower speed independent of the mains frequency.
A cooler could also be arranged in the control line 24, through which the efficiency of the gas turbine system can still be improved somewhat. It is also advisable to arrange a non-return device in this control line in order to prevent air from flowing back from the compressor 2 to the discharge line 27.
A Weehsel gear that can be switched on and off can also be used between the gas turbine system and the electrical machine 30, so that the speed of the gas turbine system can be set independently of the network frequency. This transmission can be designed as a hydraulic fluid transmission through which the speed and thus the transmitted torque can be changed in a suitable manner. Instead of a hydraulic transmission, a mechanical transmission could also be used.
In the delivery line of the useful air compressor, a flow control element can advantageously be arranged in the flow direction behind the branching of the control line.
