Group comprising a gaseous fluid turbine and a pump. The invention relates to a group comprising a gaseous fluid turbine and a pump, this group being in particular designed to supply large quantities of fuel to the exhaust of a gas turbine engine group, in heating purposes. In this case, the gaseous fluid intended to drive the turbine can be constituted by air compressed by the compressor that comprises said motor unit.
The object of the invention is to provide a group of the type specified above, of simple and robust construction. This group is characterized in that the turbine comprises a fixed ring having nozzles each disposed in a general direction tangential to a rotor disposed inside this ring, and in that the pump comprises a movable screw driven by the rotor of the turbine and a fixed screw, the two screws being in opposite directions, coaxial and placed end to end.
The appended drawing represents, by way of example, one embodiment of the group which is the subject of the invention.
Fig. 1 is an axial vertical section, along 1-1 of FIG. 2.
Thread--. 2 is a horizontal section, the upper half of this figure being a section along 2a -2a of FIG. 1 and its lower half being a section along 2b-2b of FIG. 1, and fig. 3 is a perspective view of the main parts of a regulator included in this embodiment, these parts being shown separate from one another.
The embodiment shown com takes a rotor with a vertical axis, this rotor comprising a disc 11 mounted on the lower part of a vertical shaft 12 which is carried by a bearing 13 removably attached to a casing 15 of the turbine of this group. The envelope 15 comprises an upper main part 15ca and a lower main part 15b. These parts are attached to one another in a removable manner, so as to form an annular chamber 16 to which the working fluid is supplied tangentially from an inlet 17. This working fluid can, for example, be compressed air supplied by a compressor of a gas turbine engine group.
The internal wall 18 of the annular chamber 16 is formed by a ring of nozzles 19 which are substantially tangential to the rotor disc. These nozzles are suitably narrowed and extend in the direction of the rotational movement of the fluid in the annular chamber 16.
The periphery of the disc 11 extends axially upwards, from the internal ends of the nozzles 19, and has cavities 21 in the form of a trough, milled in this disc. The motive fluid arriving in these cavities from the nozzles strikes their walls and drives the rotor in the same direction of rotation as that of this fluid in the annular chamber 16, that is to say in the opposite direction to that of the clockwise, as seen in fig. 2. The motor fluid then escapes from the cavities 21 upwards, into a spiral-shaped chamber formed above the chamber 16 and supplied with a tangential exhaust 23.
A spiral-shaped sheet and its exhaust are provided in the upper part 15a of the casing. This upper part comprises a central part extending upwards and forming a cylindrical casing 25 for fixed and movable screws which the pump comprises. The movable screw 26 is mounted above the fixed screw 27, at the upper end of the rotor shaft. This shaft is mounted in a bearing 28 which is disposed below the movable screw, in a central recess of the fixed screw 27. Each of the screws comprises several threads.
At its lower end, the fixed screw 27 has a flange 30, extending radially and closing the lower end of the cylindrical casing 25. The pump has a tangential outlet 31, formed at the lower end of the cylinder. part of the casing 25 containing the fixed screw, and an admission 32 which ends axially in the movable screw. The casing 25 surrounding the movable screw has a flange 33 intended to be bolted against the bottom of a tank, 'not shown, intended to receive fuel or another fluid to be pumped. This reservoir has an appropriate opening corresponding to the admission 32 to the movable screw.
The internal wall of the spiral sheet 22 is formed by an axially extending rim 35 integral with the radial rim 30 of the lower end of the fixed screw. The lower edge 36 of this rim 35 is spaced from the upper edge 37 of the periphery of the disk 11 of the turbine.
A tight seal is disposed between the shaft 12 and the central recess of the fixed screw 27. This seal comprises a ring 39, made of graphite or another suitable material, which is carried by an elastic sleeve 40, for example of leather. or made of rubber, integral with the fixed screw and which is pressed downwards by a coil spring 41. This ring 39 bears against a flat surface machined in a radial flange 42 which is presented by a ring keyed to the shaft 12. This ring can, for example, be made of hardened steel, and be chromed.
The internal wall 18 of the annular chamber 16 is constituted by a separate ring fixed to the lower part 15b of the casing by means of pins 45. The nozzles 19 are constituted by simple inclined slots formed in the upper face of said annulus. 18. They are internally provided with parts 46 intended to form constrictions and held in position by rivets 47. The upper edges of these slits are formed by an adjacent part of the upper part 15a of the casing.
The disc 11 is keyed on smooth rods 48 of the shaft 12, so as to be able to slide axially on this shaft, and it is pushed downwards by a spring 49 working in compression and placed between a hub 50 of the disc. 11 and the annular flange 42 of the keyed ring on the shaft 12, which flange also bears the sealing ring 39 of the pump. In this way, the periphery of the disc 11 is kept in the operating position.
The lower face of the hub 50 cooperates with a hollowed out frustoconical ring 52, presenting a concave surface directed downwards and which cooperates with a circular row of balls. Only one of three balls 53 that this row takes is, shown in the drawing. These balls are arranged in notches 54 of a cage 55 which, like the ring 52, is keyed to the shaft 12, this ring and this cage, as well as the hub 50 of the disc 11 and that the ring carrying the flange 42 having splined holes cooperating with the splines 48 of the shaft 12. The balls 53 bear against an axial stop 56 which is also keyed to the splines 48, at the lower end of the shaft 12, just above the lower landing 13.
The mass of each of the balls 53 is such that at the desired speeds the axial thrust applied by these balls to the frustoconical ring 52 under the effect of the centrifugal force does not exceed the axial thrust of the main compression spring 49 However, when higher speeds are reached by the group, the action exerted by the balls tending to move outwards along the notches 54 of the cage under the effect of the centrifugal force suddenly becomes greater. as the static friction resistance, so that these balls move away from the axis of the group.
As a result, the centrifugal force applied to the balls further increases as the radius. the path of rotation of the balls has increased and the ring 52 is suddenly moved upwards, with the disc 11. The driving effect exerted by the working fluid on the walls of the trough-shaped cavities 21 formed at the periphery of the disc 11 is thus instantaneously considerably reduced. The disc 11 remains in the raised position until its speed has been sufficiently reduced to allow the spring 49 to overcome the reduced centrifugal force applied to the balls.
The cage 55 has arms 58 extending radially around the notches 54 and intended to engage in suitable notches 59 formed in the lower edge of the frustoconical ring 52, so as to guide the balls radially in a suitable manner. , when these balls move under the effect of centrifugal force.
