Fig. 4 ist ein Grundriss zu Fig. 3.
Canisters, in particular for motor vehicle fuel.
The invention relates to a canister, in particular for the fuel of motor vehicles, and aims to enable easy and convenient emptying.
As is well known, the emptying and transferring of canisters, be it into a vehicle tank or into another container, causes difficulties even if the container to be filled is provided with a funnel.
To eliminate the difficulties, pouring spouts have already been proposed that can be attached to the pouring opening of the canister. Such nozzles are quite practical, but represent a special part to be fed that can be lost and the attachment and removal of which, combined with the opening and closing of the canister closure, means an undesirable loss of time.
According to the invention, the canister is provided with a pouring tube which is hinged to its container and can be pivoted from a rest position into the position of use. This ensures that there is always a pouring tube on the canister, which, if necessary, only has to be brought from the rest position to the position of use, so that time losses and laborious handling for attaching the pouring tube and removing it again are no longer necessary. Advantageously, the design is such that the pouring tube automatically opens and closes the container closure when it is pivoted into the use position and from there.
Exemplary embodiments of the invention are illustrated in the accompanying drawing.
Fig. L is a vertical section through the top of a canister with a straight pouring tube.
FIG. 2 is a plan view of the canister of FIG.
Fig. 3 shows the top of a canister with a curved pouring tube.
FIG. 4 is a plan view of FIG. 3.
5 shows the upper part of a canister with a pouring tube that can be partially pivoted into the container.
FIG. 6 is a partial plan view of the canister of FIG. 5.
FIG. 7 is a narrow side view of the canister of FIG. 5.
In each example, a pouring tube 2 is hinged to the container 1 of the canister and can be pivoted from the rest position shown in solid lines into the use position shown in dash-dotted lines. In addition, the container has a closure which is opened and closed by pivoting the pouring tube.
In the exemplary embodiments according to FIGS. 1 to 4, this closure consists of the closure body 3, which according to FIG. 1 is attached via the turnbuckle 4 and according to FIG. 3 via the chain links 28 to the end of the pouring tube facing the pouring opening of the container and in the container is attached. The tension member formed by the turnbuckle or the chain links is only so long that the closing body is pulled into the closed position when the pouring tube is pivoted, which is shown in solid lines in FIGS. 1 and 3 .
The pouring tube can be fixed on the container both in the use position and in the rest position and is designed as a handle for carrying the canister in the rest position.
At the end facing the pouring opening of the container, the pouring pipe is provided with a seat in the form of a flange 5. The pouring opening has a corresponding counter seat, denoted by 6 in FIG. 1, which consists of a sealing material such as rubber. The flange 5 can be pressed against the counter seat by means of a clamping device. In the exemplary embodiment according to FIGS. 1 and 2, a sleeve 7, which engages over the flange 5, and a fastener 8 are provided as the clamping device. The fastener is pivoted over the flange after the cap has been brought to overlap the flange 5.
According to Fig. 1 and 2, the articulation of the pouring tube is made via a pair of levers 9, which flank the pouring tube.
The levers have a pivot axis 10 on the pouring tube and a pivot axis 11 on the container.
In the canister according to FIGS. 1 and 2, the two handles 12 are located on the top wall 13 of the loading container. The pouring tube is between these handles when it is pivoted into the rest position.
The bottom wall 13 of the container is offset in such a way that the pouring tube rests on the top wall only in the area of its pouring end, but can otherwise be reached under.
The pouring tube is secured in the rest position by the spring clip 14. The finger grip 15 of the clip facilitates the withdrawal of the latter to release the tube.
The air hole 16 is provided in the top wall of the container. The pouring tube closes the air hole in the rest position and is provided with a sealing covering 17 for this purpose.
In the exemplary embodiment according to FIGS. 1 and 2, a ring 18 is screwed into the pouring opening of the container and the pouring tube is hinged to this ring. The lugs 19 of the ring make it easier to grip the ring for screwing it in and out.
According to FIGS. 3 and 4, the pouring tube 2 is rotatably mounted about its axis in the articulation part and a bayonet lock is provided for the seating of the pouring tube on the opposite seat on the container. The pouring tube has two flanges 5 and 20, between which the ring 21 sits loosely on the pouring tube. This ring has a leg 22 which is connected to the container ceiling wall via the hinge 23. The flange 5 at the same time forms the seat of the pouring tube.
To apply the ring 21 to the pouring pipe, the pouring pipe 2 provided with the flange 5 is pushed through the ring 21 and then the flange 20 is pushed onto the pouring pipe and fixed to the pouring pipe.
The bayonet lock can be formed in such a way that the flange 5 is equipped with radial lugs 24 on diametrically opposite sides, while tongues 25 are provided on the top wall of the container, which between their underside wd the container top wall a slot 26 for engagement the noses left. When the canister is opened, the pouring tube is swung up and initially rotated in such a way that the lugs 24 come between the tongues 25 when the flange 5 is placed on the opposing seat 27. The pouring tube is then rotated further so that the lugs reach under the tongues and the pouring tube assumes the position shown in phantom in FIG. 1.
The underside of the tongues can have a slight wedge slope at the opening of the slot 26 so that the flange 5 is pressed firmly against the mating seat.
The pouring tube is curved.
The container has a support 29 for the pouring end of the pouring tube. The casting end is overlapped in the support by a spring member which consists of the hinged member 31 on the web 32 under the action of the spring 30. A leaf spring 33 is provided in the interior of the tube end, which can be pressed in by the push button 34 and which carries a pin 35. The latter reaches through the end of the pipe and the overlapping part of the folding member 31.
The air hole provided in the base of the support is overlapped by a leaf spring 36. On its underside, the leaf spring has a rubber protrusion 37 which closes the air hole when the pouring tube is pivoted into the support.
In the embodiment according to FIGS. 5 to 7, the pouring tube has a perforated elbow 41 lined with a fabric sieve and protrudes with this elbow through the pouring opening of the container into the latter. The elbow extends through the seal 42 here. The end of the elbow protruding into the container is closed by a plate 38 which protrudes from the pipe with a flange 39. There are holes 40 provided up to the closure plate. Naturally, it is also possible to provide the pipe end directly with a flange and to close it with an inserted plug.
The center of curvature of the bend lies in the axis of the hinge 23 about which the tube can be pivoted.
The bend 41 is so long that the flange 39 rests against the seal 42 when the pouring tube is pivoted into the rest position, that is to say it is in the position shown in FIG.
The pouring tube is hinged to the container in the same way as in the exemplary embodiment according to FIGS. 3 and 4. Likewise, the means for fixing it in the rest position and for closing the air hole in the bearing for the pouring tube are the same as in the exemplary embodiment according to FIGS. 3 and 4.
