Winch. The present invention relates to a winch comprising a device for guiding the winding of the cable on the drum; this winch is characterized by a rail located above the drum and by a pulley rolling on this rail and the yoke of which carries a guide part for the cable, this part being mounted in a movable manner on the yoke so as to be able to occupy, with respect to the latter, two positions, a first in which it blocks the pulley, and a second in which it releases the pulley, an elastic device tending to maintain this guide piece in its first position, while any traction on the cable brings it to its second position.
The appended drawing represents, by way of example, an embodiment of the object of the invention.
Fi-. 1 is an elevational view of the winch. Fig. 2 is a side view of a detail of FIG. l., on an enlarged scale, and fi-. 3 is an elevational view of this detail. The winch shown comprises a frame 1, provided with spades 2 intended for. keep it in place on the ground, and on which is fixed a motor 3 driving a winding drum -1 for a cable 5.
The cable 5 passes through a pulley 6 which can oscillate around an i xe 7, according to the arrows 8, before reaching a guide device ensuring its correct winding on the drum 4. This guide device comprises a rail 9 formed a bar of circular cross section, slightly curved and. located above drum 1; this rail is preferably located slightly outside the vertical plane passing through the axis of the drum, in front of the latter, which facilitates winding. A pulley 10 rolls on the bar 9. This pulley is pivoted in a yoke 11 between the two sides of which the bar 9 passes.
A second yoke, designated by 12, carries three rollers 13 over which the cable passes. A washer 11 is. welded to the yoke 12. A rod 15 carrying a head 16 freely and slidably through the bottom of the yoke 11 and screws into the washer 1-l. A coil spring 17 is mounted around the rod 15. This spring is supported, on the one hand, on the head 16 and, on the other hand, through the intermediary of a thrust bearing 18, on the bottom of the yoke 11. The rod 15 is terminated by a stud 10 intended to penetrate into transverse notches 20 made on the concave part of the bar 9.
The spring 17 tends to keep the stud 19 engaged in the notches 20; in this first position of the yoke 12, the assembly formed by the pulley 10, the yokes 11 and 12 and the rollers 13, is mobilized on the rail 9. When the cable 5 is stretched, its pressure on the rollers 13 tend to move the yoke 12 downwards and the stud 19 is released from the notches 20; in this second position of the yoke 12, the aforementioned assembly can move along the bar 9, the pulley 10 rolling on this bar.
This arrangement has the advantage that, when the winch is in operation, the yoke 12 moves along the bar 9 and serves to guide the cable being wound up, while, as soon as the winch ceases to operate , the yoke 12 is blocked by the relaxation of the cable, which prevents unwanted movement of the wire guide member, during. that the winch is at rest, a movement which would interfere with the subsequent winding of the cable.
