Reissverschlu & .
Zipper &. The subject matter of the invention is a zip fastener, the halves of which each have a row of coupling members which are seated on a carrier tape and which can be brought into engagement with one another in order to couple the two fastener halves.
This zipper is characterized in that each coupling link has a coupling head with two support surfaces parallel to the plane of the carrier tape and facing opposite sides of this plane, that the outline of the head and the visible support surface viewed from one side of said plane, are congruent with the outline of the head and the other support surface, viewed from the opposite side of this plane,
and that the head of each coupling member of the one closure half forms the mirror image of the head of each coupling member of the other closure half in relation to a longitudinal center plane perpendicular to the plane of the carrier tape.
In the drawing, an exemplary embodiment of the zipper according to the invention is shown.
Fig. 1 is a view. a part of the closed zipper, seen perpendicular to the closure plane (carrier tape plane).
Fig. 2 is. a cross section along the line II-II of Fig. 1 perpendicular to this plane. Fig. 3 is a longitudinal section. according to the line III-III of Fig. 1, also perpendicular to the plane mentioned. Fig. 4 shows side by side a coupling member of the two Versehlusshälften, seen perpendicular to the plane mentioned.
Each half of the zipper shown comprises a fastener tape 1, which is provided on its one edge with a longitudinal bead \ '. These fastener tapes can, if necessary, at the edges of one of two parts to be connected to each other by the zipper, eg. B. - a dress, a tent, etc. to be sewn. The coupling links of the relevant closure half are molded onto each support band using an injection molding process at regular intervals. Each coupling member has two legs 3, which engage on the upper and lower side of the fastener tape 1 over and behind the bead 2 and are connected to each other mitein in front of the edge of the supporting tape through the head 4 of the member.
The shape of the legs 3 and the manufacturing process of the coupling member ensure that it adheres firmly to the carrier tape 1. The coupling members can consist of zinc, a plastic or some other material that can be molded by injection molding.
The head 4 of each coupling member has, seen perpendicular to the closure plane (Feg. 1 and 4), in the outer outline 5 approximately the shape of an ellipse, the major axis of which lies par allel to the edge of the fastener tape 1, and to which in the direction of the small Axis is connected to a neck 6 which extends up to this edge and on which the two legs 3 sit above and below the bead of the supporting tape.
However, the head does not have this outline everywhere at its full height; Be rich in the one vertex of said ellipse and the adjoining part of the neck, it has a recess 7, which see from the top 8 (Fig. 3) extends to the middle of the height of the limb, so that the head one upwards turned, in the to the closure plane (tape plane) par allelic central plane of the coupling member lying lowing support surface 9 has.
In the area of the opposite apex of the ellipse and the part of the neck adjoining it, another recess 10 extends from the underside 11 (FIG. 3) of the limb to the middle of its height; The head here has a second, downward-facing support surface 12, which is also located in the center plane of the coupling member. The outlines 5 of the head and 13 of the first-mentioned support surface 9, viewed from above, match the outlines 5 of the head and 14 of the second support surface 12 congruent when viewed from below.
In contrast, the coupling elements of one locking half are not the same as those of the other locking half. Provides. you ever have a coupling member of the two halves head to head opposite each other, as shown in Fig. 4, on the one hand, the upward-facing support surfaces 9 of the two members and on the other hand, the downward-facing support surfaces 12 of the two members side by side.
The head of the coupling member of one closure half is thus the mirror image of the head of the coupling member of the other closure half in relation to a longitudinal center plane perpendicular to the plane of the carrier tape.
When the zipper is closed, each coupling member of one closure half, as shown in FIGS. 1 to 3, engages between two coupling members of the other closure half in such a way that the downward-facing support surface 12 of the first-mentioned member is on the upward-facing support surface 9 of the one, and the upwardly facing support surface 9 of the first member rests on the downwardly facing support surface 12 of the other of the adjacent two members of the other closure half.
In each of the recesses 7 and 10 of a coupling member of the one closure half, the part of the head ellipse that protrudes in the direction parallel to the edges of the fastener is located above the recess 10 or under the recess 7 of a coupling member of the other closure half last mentioned link. The outlines 13 and
14 of the recesses 7 and 10 follow your outline 5 of this protruding part of a link of the other half of the closure with ge rings, but to ensure a certain flexibility of the closure in its own. Sufficient distance.
Each of these outlines has 13, 14. thus in the area of the Hal ses 6 an indentation 1.5 or 16, in which a projection of the outline 5 of a link of the other locking half engages, and further forward a projection 17 or 18, which in turn in an indentation of the outline 5 of a link of the other The closure half engages in the area of the neck. The mutual engagement of the aforementioned projections prevents the two closure halves from moving away from one another in the plane of the carrier tape.
In addition, each closure member of a closure half is prevented from being removed from the other closure half by the support surface 9 of the one and by the support surface 12 of the other neighboring member on the other closure half.
The two closure halves can be separated from each other. be that by advancing a (not drawn) slider of the usual type with a Y-shaped channel, one link of one closing half by pivoting in the plane of the fastener out of engagement with the next link of the other closing half this is released from engagement with the following member of the first closure half by a corresponding pivoting to the opposite side.
The closure of the lock takes place when the slide is moved in the opposite direction, the latter bringing the coupling members together one after the other and pivoting them into mutual engagement.
On each half of the zipper described, the slider can be pushed from one end or the other, so that it is possible to use the zipper according to I'ig. 1 closed lock can be opened from top to bottom or from bottom to top with the slide turned 180 °. It can also turn two slides in each other by 180 ge. Be postponed positions in order to open the closure either from any small opening at any point along the length of the closure towards both ends or vice versa from both ends.
Since the outlines of the link heads and their recesses are congruent in each locking half when viewed from both sides of the locking plane, the locking can also be closed again when one locking half is turned around in relation to the other after pulling the slide was that the top of this shutter half comes to lie next to the bottom of the other shutter half and vice versa.
The support surfaces 9 and 12 do not need to lie in the center plane of the coupling member itself as in the drawn Ausfüh approximately example; it is basically sufficient that they are parallel to the closure plane. If, however, they are outside the center plane of the coupling members, it is not readily possible to turn one closure half over with respect to the other.
