Knot catchers for use on machines that process yarn. The present invention relates to a knot catcher for use on yarn processing machines such as winding machines and knitting machines. Known knot catching devices have two scissors-shaped knives resting against each other, or a stationary knife, which is assigned an eccentric net, which is more or less, according to the thread thickness, delivered so that the thread in the slot, which the eccentric and Form the knife, runs off .. Fluff slightly adhering to the thread is stripped off. If there is a knot in the thread, it will be held by the knives and the thread will break.
The big disadvantage of knives is that so-called creepers and fine foreign bodies spun in the yarn, which have not been removed from the raw wool, pass the knife because these thread defects offer too little resistance to make the thread break. The thread is then only distorted and wound up together with the impurity in a weakened state. If the thread breaks, the torn end is wound onto the bobbin and must first be searched for in order to tie it on.
The present invention now aims to be able to prevent the thread from tearing by stopping the thread run.
The invention consists in that a rocking lever is used to control the thread, which has two resiliently juxtaposed wires between which the thread slides, the rocking lever being held in the rest position by an adjustable pretensioned spring and in the case of a knot in the continuous position The thread is swiveled out of the rest position into a blocking position, in which it is held in place by a ratchet tooth, while at the same time an electrical switch closes a circuit in order to stop the thread run ziz that a push button is also provided,
by which the locking of the rocker arm can be released so that it swings back and the switch is opened.
In the accompanying drawing, an example embodiment of the subject invention is illustrated. It shows: Fig. 1 is a section through the knot catcher along line I-I in Fig. 2, Fig. 2 is a cross section along line II-II in Fig.1. Fig. 3 is a section along line III-III in Fig. 2, Fig.4 the thread control serving, ge formed from two adjacent wires Schvinghebel.
In the box 1, which is suitably made of an electrically insulating material, an axle 2 is mounted on which the disc 3 sits with the rocker arm 4, which serves as a thread checker. As can be seen from FIG. 4, this consists of two wires 4a and 4b lying next to one another, which are fastened in the window pane 3 and whose free ends cross in order to thread the thread F between the wires. Through the slide 5, a distance between the wires can be regulated according to the thickness of the thread to be processed who the. The disk 3 is non-rotatably connected to the axle 2 by the pin 6.
Left and right of the disk 3 are disks 7 angeord net, which are used to guide the rod 8 laterally. The rod 8 is fastened on the axis 9 BE, which is rotatably mounted in the housing 1 and in the cover la. An arm 8a is arranged on the rod 8 and ends with an insulating cap 8b. The disc 3 has two ratchet teeth 3 a and 3 b, which alternately push in front of the end of the rod 8. In the rotary knob 10, which is mounted on the eye 1b of the housing 1, engages one end 12c of the coil spring 12 acting as a torsion spring, the other end 12b of which is in the axis 2.
The rotation of the rotary knob 10 is therefore resiliently transmitted to the axle 2 after the torsion spring 12 has tensioned, so that the rocker arm 4 is pulled into the rest position shown with a bias. The knob 10 overlaps with its ge slotted sleeve 10a the eye 1b of the hous ses 1 imd clamps on this so that the knob 10 is probably rotatable by hand, but can not be rotated by the spring 12 ge.
The clamping sleeve of the rotary knob 10 has a bead 13 which engages in the notch of the eye 1b and holds the rotary knob 10 laterally. The rotary knob 10 also has a pointer 11 to which a scale 14 on the housing 1 is assigned. This scale 14 is used to adjust the tension of the spring 12 according to different yarn thicknesses. In order to limit the tension of the spring and prevent complete relaxation of the same, a pin 14a is arranged on the scale, against which the pointer 11 abuts in its zero and maximum position, so that the push button up to the pointer width by a whole Revolution can be rotated.
When the thread F passes between the wires 4a. and 4b strips off fluff adhering to the thread without pulling the rocker arm 4 to its lowest position. But if the rocker arm 4 is pivoted all the way down by a knot of the thread F, then the rod 8, pulled by the spring Sc, jumps in front of the ratchet tooth 3b of the disk 3 and locks it in the dash-dotted position of the rocker arm 4. It has the insulating cap 8b removed from the contact spring 18 so that the contacts 18a and 17a touch one another, whereby a circuit is closed which in some known way stops the yarn movement.
To return the rocker arm 4 to its rest position and simultaneous removal of the contacts 17a and 18a voneinan the push button 22 is used, on the Bol zen 23 a conical or hemispherical Kör by 24 is attached. The spring 25 pushes the push button into its rest position. If the push button 22 and with this the body 24 is moved to the left, then the rod 8 is pushed out of the ratchet tooth 3b of the disc 3 and by the bias of the Fe of 12, the rocker arm 4 jumps back into its upper position, which by the Ratchet 3a. against which the n 8 comes up against is limited.
As a result, the insulating cap 8a of the lever 8 presses the contacts 17a and 18a. apart again and interrupts the said circuit.
