Gas pressure regulator with control unit. In known gas pressure regulators with control device, which only. have a small equalizing bore between the control chamber and the working pressure chamber of the gas pressure regulator, pressures up to the level of the admission pressure can occur on the low-pressure side. Such inrush peaks endanger devices connected on the low pressure side and must therefore be avoided.
The invention relates to a construction of a gas pressure regulator with a control device serving this purpose. It consists in that a valve provided in a compensating line between the control chamber and the working pressure chamber of the gas pressure regulator is connected to the regulating element of the control device in such a way that it is opened when the working pressure set in the control device is exceeded and thus the working pressure chamber with it connects to the control room of the gas pressure regulator.
The drawing shows in Fig.l and 2 two embodiments of the subject invention in vertical section.
It denotes 1 the diaphragm, 2 the valve of the C gas pressure regulator, 3 the control chamber, 4 the working pressure chamber, 5 the gas inlet nozzle on the upstream pressure side and 6 the outlet nozzle of the gas expanded to the working pressure on the low pressure side of the gas pressure regulator. A metering bore 7 extending through the diaphragm 1 leads from the working pressure chamber 4 to the control chamber 3. The control chamber 3 located above the diaphragm 1 is connected to a control device 8 via the line 19.
The control device itself is through a line 10 opening in front of its expansion opening 9 with the inlet pressure side of the gas pressure regulator and through a line 12 opening into the housing space 23 with the outlet side, d. H. connected to the working pressure chamber of the gas pressure regulator.
The valve 9, 13 is opened by the membrane 14 of the control device, which is under the action of a spring 15 adjusted to the working pressure. For this purpose, the membrane 14 is connected to a one-armed lever 16 mounted on the housing 8 of the control device as a control element, against which the spindle 17 of the control valve 9, 13 rests in a non-positive manner. The control chamber 18 of the control device is in open communication with the control chamber 3 of the gas pressure regulator through a line 19. The lever 16 connected to the membrane 14 also acts on the spindle 20 of a valve 21 which is arranged in a line 22,
which connects the control chamber 18 of the control device with its housing chamber 23, which in turn is in open communication with the working pressure chamber of the gas pressure regulator through the line 12.
Before the gas pressure regulator is put into operation, valve 2 is closed. Since there is no pressure either in the outlet connection 6 or in the housing space 23, the action of the spring 15 on the membrane 14 rotates the lever 16 so that the valve 9, 13 is opened and the valve 21 is closed. If the gas pressure regulator receives its form during commissioning, it flows through line 10, the open valve 9, 13 and line 19 into space 3 above membrane I. As a result of the pressure increase in space 3, membrane 1 is pressed down and valve 2 is opened, so that the working pressure in outlet connection 6 rises.
An undesired switch-on peak cannot form, since an impermissible pressure increase in the outlet connection 6 takes effect immediately via the connecting line 12 in the space 23 of the control device, in that the membrane 14 is pushed back against the force of the spring 15 and the lever 16 is turned clockwise whereby the valve 9, 13 is closed and the valve 21 is opened. Gas can now no longer flow through the valve 9, 13 into the space 3 above the membrane 1 under pre-pressure. Instead, space 3 is now relieved via lines 19 and 22 and valve 21. The mem brane 1 rises, and the cross section of the expansion opening of the valve 2 is ver smaller.
In the embodiment of FIG. 2, a pressure reducer is set in front of the gas pressure regulator with control device described with reference to FIG. 1, in which the gas is expanded to a constant pressure regardless of the changing level of the admission pressure. From the upstream pressure side of the gas pressure regulator, the gas flows through the line 10 to the discharge opening 26 of the pressure reducer 25 placed in front of the control device 8.
The shut-off valve body 27 of the expansion opening 36 is controlled by the membrane 28 of the pressure reducer by a lever system 29. From the working pressure chamber 30 of the pressure reducer 5, the expanded gas arrives at the expansion opening 9 of the control device. The further work process now takes place in the same way as it is described for the CTasdrucl@regl.er according to Fig.1.
The provision of the pressure reducer according to FIG. 2 prevents the control valve from being so heavily loaded by a high inlet pressure that it would endanger proper operation, especially when the inlet pressure changes.
