Process for manufacturing panels for construction and panel obtained by this process. A process is known which consists in notching by grinding or any other suitable process solid panels on the surfaces of which are fixed flexible coverings serving as an articulation (the way to form lamellar elements which allow the panels to be sealed on which are fixed to make them rigid and resistant.
The present invention relates to a method of manufacturing dle panels for construction. According to the invention, the method is characterized in that one uses a plastic material, capable of hardening by drying, and in that this plastic material is coated on at least part of its two faces, with a sheet of a flexible material which is made to penetrate into grooves provided in said material.
The invention also relates to a panel obtained by said method which is characterized in that it comprises a body made of a plastic material having V shaped grooves on each of its two faces, a material flexible coating on each face penetrating into at least part of said grooves.
The drawing shows, by way of example, some forms of panels obtained by the process according to the invention and, schematically, devices for implementing the process itself. Fig. 1 shows a section of a lamellar carpet with one face carrying a continuous flexible coating, penetrating into the sizes.
Fig. ? shows in section a lamellar carpet whose two flexible coverings are continuous.
Fig. 3 shows in section a partition obtained by means of a panel with continuous flexible covering on both sides.
In these figures, a is the constituent material of the carpet, b is the continuous flexible coating penetrating into the grooves or in sizes and c is the flexible coating. We can also consider the. production of a lamellar carpet in which the strips of flexible covering material would be limited to the re-garment of the notches and, in certain cases, this solution may be advantageous.
Fig. 4 shows a carpet of this kind; Its plastic strips are here connected by simple strips of flexible material penetrating only part of the notches. In this figure, cc. East. the. material of the slats, d are the glued flat strips, e is a notch penetrating strip with side coverings and f is a V-notch strip entering the notch without side covers.
It is also possible to combine the three variants described, namely: continuous flexible coating, discontinuous flexible coating at the level of the notches and discontinuous flexible coating between the notches.
For the manufacture of the carpets which have just been described, it is advantageous to have recourse to mechanical manufacturing processes reducing the intervention of labor to a minimum. For this purpose, it is expected that the gluing of the sheets or strips can be done by machine, but it is even more interesting when starting from a plastic material that, to manufacture, at the same time, the blades, the notches and to garnish them at the same time with the flexible covering which serves to articulate the whole.
Two methods of manufacturing plaster-based lamellar elements will be described, by way of example, with coating of the notches by means of a double sheet of flexible material, formed, for example, by paper and cardboard.
In the first embodiment, a lause (the still soft plastic material passes between two laminating rolls provided with teeth corresponding to the grooves or notches desired on each side of the belt. These two rolls are each fed by a sheet of paper or cardboard. which is forged to the shape of the notches by two counter-rollers bearing notches corresponding to the teeth of the laminating rollers. After passing between the laminating rolls, the plastic sheet comes out in a notched blade and interposed between two sheets of paper covering 'a continuous mat the blade and the notches.
Fig. 5 represents, schematically, the device used: r and r1 are the minor rollers, s and s1 are the backing rollers; the two sheets of paper t and t1 are first shaped by their passage between the rollers r and s and r1 and s1. The plastic strip, for example still soft plaster, passes between the laminator rolls and comes out finished with the necessary notches and paper coatings.
In another embodiment, the cuts are made in the longitudinal direction by series of rollers having projections of revolution, between which the plastic blade is rolled together with the sheet or sheets of paper of the re. clothing.
Fig. 6 shows an element of a machine of this kind, in section, along a plane perpendicular to the axis of a roller and not through the axis of a notch in the belt.
Fig. 7 is a section taken along line 1-2 of FIG. 6 before stamping, and in fig. 8 is a section taken along line 3-4 of FIG. 6 after forging.
The roller r carrying a tooth rolls the sheet of paper p and encrusted it in the blade of material by lining the notch e. The notches on the other side can, of course, be made in the same way, using. a roller located below the plaster blade and working in a similar fashion. The paper can be prepared as in the previous case by means of counter-rollers.
