Description
Process for obtaining antibiotic substances by cultivating microorganisms that produce them. It is known to use culture media for the cultivation of molds that contain glucose, lactose, malt or starch as a carbon source in addition to the usual nutrient salts. Once the culture has ended, the antibiotic substances produced by the mold fungi can be isolated from these nutrient solutions.
It has now been found that antibiotic substances of this type, in particular when certain types of mold are used, can also be obtained if the microorganisms are cultivated in a nutrient medium containing humic acid.
(The status of the patent is thus a process for the production of antibiotic substances by cultivating such producing IVlikroox-ganisnien, which is characterized by the fact that the 111iki-oorganisms are cultivated in a humic acid, uric nutrient medium and that the antibiotic substances are removed isolated from the culture medium.
the particular advantage that it is relatively easy to keep the cultures clean, which is difficult in the cultivation of certain mushrooms, since certain foreign organisms tend to adapt only poorly to the nature of the nutrient solution.
Example: A culture medium suitable for humic acid is used with. inoculated penicillins isolated from the moor and kept at 20 to 23 C for ten days. Then the culture is cooled and extracted with Amvlaeetat. After further usual cleaning, e.g. B. by repeated return to the aqueous phase and subsequent extraction with amyl acetate as well as by conversion into salt form, one obtains a powder with excellent bactericidal action, especially against streptococci, staphylococci and similar bacteria.
