Method for splicing wire ropes. To wire ropes that have to run over pulleys or the like, such as B. pull ropes in cable cars, ski lifts, chairlifts, etc. to splice endlessly, the rope ends braided on a ge certain length after removing the rope core usually with means of long splice in a known manner. intertwined so that the rope diameter is not thickened at the splice point or on the section where the rope ends merge.
The reinforcement points of the splice strands give rise to some unevenness and deformation, which over time has a detrimental effect on the service life of the wire rope. In chairlifts and similar systems, deformations at the sensitive splice points due to the frequent disengagement and engagement of the wagons are particularly common. These splice points cannot be taken into account when operating these systems.
A marking of these places by color or the like is. not appropriate, as these markings are made by the rope grease within a very short time. and the rollers are wiped out. However, deformation of the splice points often leads to rope defects and malfunctions.
The method for splicing wire ropes according to the present invention aims to avoid the disadvantages mentioned and consists in inserting an insert at the splice stitch points in the hollow space created by the crossover of the strand ends in the rope axis.
This has the effect that the splice strands guided into the inside of the rope at the reinforcement points are given a support on the insert pieces such that the dreaded deformation at the splice stitch can be avoided. Tests have shown that the service life of a wire rope spliced in this way is significantly longer than that of a wire rope spliced using conventional methods.
The subject of the invention is also a wire rope spliced according to the method.
In the following, for example, execution forms of the inventive method and the wire rope are explained with reference to the accompanying drawing. 1 shows a view of a splice stitch point of a wire rope with an inserted insert, FIG. 2 shows a rod-shaped insert, and FIG. 3 shows a view of an insert formed from a strand.
At the Spleissstich.stelle of a wire rope according to FIG. 1, two splice strands 1 and 2 of the two rope ends to be connected are guided into the interior of the wire rope in a known manner with the help of an appropriate device, so that the two strand ends over a certain length into the rope axis come to rest and partially replace the rope core cut out in their area.
The cavity created at the stitch point by the crossing of these strand ends, which can easily lead to deformation of the splice point when the wire rope is used when using the common splicing process, is filled by the insert piece 3.
The diameter of the cylindrical central part of the insert 3 expediently corresponds to the diameter of the rope core that has been cut out. This central part and the conical end parts 4 of the insert 3 are designed such that the inserted ends of the rope strands 1 and 2 hug them tightly; they serve the latter both as a support and as a guide, so that a uniform transition of these strands 1, 2 into the interior of the wire rope is guaranteed.
As a result, excessive and irregular curvatures of the rope strands can also be avoided, which can lead to a reduction in the strength of the wire rope.
The insert pieces can of course also have a shape other than that shown in FIG. Your longitudinal section can, for. B. be a flat ellipse, or an individual strand pieces (Fig. 3) or pieces of wire can be used and other deposits made of metal or other suitable mate rial. The dimensions of the inserts are expediently based on the type and diameter of the wire rope to be spliced.
