Fig. 2 ein Längsschnitt durch dieselbe ist und
Installation on electrical cables containing gas under pressure.
The present invention relates to a device on electrical cables containing gas under pressure.
In cable systems that contain steel or other gases under pressure, the conductor or conductors contained in the cable sections are electrically connected to one another at their ends in order to produce an uninterrupted electrical connection between two desired points.
In addition, however, it was found that it is better to prevent the pressurized gas from flowing over directly between the individual cable sections through breakers.
A gas feeder usually extends through the cable and when the cable is divided into individual sections, the common feeder is in communication with each cable section. Furthermore, each section may have a pressure controlled electrical switch. The switch is closed as soon as the pressure, e.g. B. as a result of a leak in the cable sheath, drops below a certain value, whereby a relay is energized, which causes a signal indicating the leaky cable section is triggered in a control point.
It has been found, however, that the pressure of the gas varies according to the temperature of the cable section; an increase in temperature causes an increase in the gas pressure. However, it is desirable that the gas pressure remains constant and that it essentially corresponds to the pressure in the feed line in each cable section.
The device according to the invention on electrical cables which contain gas under pressure is characterized in that it has a membrane which responds to mechanical pressure, on one side of which the pressure in the gas feed line of the cable and on the other side the pressure in the cable section acts, so that the membrane is influenced by the pressure difference between the gas pressure in the cable separator and that in the feed line, the membrane controlling a rotatable lever,
whereby, when there is a sufficiently large pressure difference, one of the two existing paths between the feed line and the cable section is automatically opened so that the gas can flow from the point of higher pressure to the point of lower pressure, and the membrane controls an electrical contact system that is used for Transmission of a message is actuated when the path from the feed line to the cable section is open and the gas pressure in the cable section has fallen by a certain amount below that in the feed line.
In one embodiment of the object according to the invention, the pressure-sensitive element consists of a cell, which is influenced by the various pressures of the gas feed line and the cable section acting on its surfaces, and the displacement of the membrane as a result of a difference in diameter on both sides causes this Open one or the other of two valves to let the gas flow from the point of higher pressure to the point of lower pressure.
The arrangement is made so that one or the other valve is open as soon as the membrane has a pressure difference of z. B. 0.2 atm. is exposed. If the pressure in the feed line z. B. 14 kglem2, the connection to the cable section would be opened in such a case if the pressure in the cable section decreases by 0.2 kg / cm2, while conversely the connection from the cable section to the feed line would be opened if the pressure in the cable decreases to 0 , 2 kg / cm2 would increase.
The invention is explained using an exemplary embodiment illustrated in the drawing:
Fig. 1 is a plan view of the example of the device according to the invention, during
Fig. 2 is a longitudinal section through the same and
Fig. 3 is a schematic of a connection between two cable sections and the built-in device.
The device shown in FIGS. 1 and 2 is shown schematically in FIG. 3 by the rectangle 51 and is connected between two gas feed lines 11, 12 of two cable sections. These two cable connections are separated by a gas-tight connection, which is shown schematically at 57 and electrical signals from the device 51 travel via a pair of insulated control wires 55 and a connection device 56 into a control cable 54.
The control cable 54 runs along the entire cable between the three high voltage conductors, two of which are shown at 52 and 53 in FIG. The whole thing is surrounded by the metal sheath 50 of the cable.
The body 10 of the device, which is made of hard-drawn brass, has openings at both ends into which the gas supply lines 11 and 12 are soldered. The channel 13 establishes an uninterrupted connection between the feed lines 11 and 12. In the recess of the upper surface of the body 10, a metal block 14 is fixed with four screws 15 (FIG. 1); the block 14 and the recess of the body 10 are shaped so that they together form a cylindrical space 16. A lever 17 is rotatably mounted by the axis 18 in the jaws 19, which are integral with the block 14. Jaws 20, which form guide elements for lever 17, are also part of block 14.
An opening 21 connects the channel 13 with the space 16, into which a circular membrane 22 is soldered so that it divides the space 16 into two parts. A bolt 23 is fastened to the lever 17 by means of nuts 24, while the lower end of the bolt is fastened in the middle of the membrane 22. The bolt 23 extends through an opening 23 of the block 14 and there is ample play between the block 14 and the bolt 23 to allow the gas in the cable section to act on the upper surface of the membrane.
The valves 28, 29 and 34, 35 actuating screws 26 and 32, respectively, are screwed into the lever. The screw 26, which is secured with the nut 27, acts on the valve 28, 29, the shaft of which has two mutually opposite, longitudinally directed flattened lengths that establish a gas connection between the channel 13 and the cable section when the conical surface 29 passes through the Screw 26 is pressed away from the conical valve seat downwards. When the screw 26 is not acting on it, the valve is held in the closed position by the spring 30, and a screw 31 is provided, the head of which is provided on the outer circumference with a thread to hold the spring 30 in its position and the Adjust the spring tension, whereby the pressure at which the valve is to play can be varied.
I) el lever 17 also has a second screw 32 which acts on a valve 34, 35 and is secured by nut 33.
Furthermore, the lever 17 is provided with a pin 38 made of insulating material, which acts on the contact spring 39, the springs 39 and 41 making a contact when the lever 17 tilts clockwise when pulled in FIG. 2. The springs 39 and 41 are attached to blocks 40 and 42 as shown in FIG.
It can now be seen from FIG. 11 that the membrane 22 compares the pressure in the gas supply with the pressure in the cable section. If the gas pressure in the cable section is higher than in the feed line, the membrane will bend downwards and thereby move the lever 17 counterclockwise, whereby the valve 34, 35 is opened and gas can flow from the Kahel section into the feed line.
On the other hand, if the pressure in the cable section is lower than in the feed line, the membrane 22 will move so that the lever 17 is turned clockwise and the valve 28, 29 opens so that gas from the feed line cuts into the cable can flow.
At the same time, the contacts 39 and 41 are closed, as a result of which an electrical signaling circuit (not shown) is closed, which triggers an audible and / or visible alarm signal at a control point. The alarm signal is only triggered if the gas pressure in the cable section is lower than in the feed line, as this very often results from a defect in the cable sheathing and thus requires repair, while a higher pressure in the cable section than in the feed line does not necessarily mean a defect in the cable.
