Description

Poutrelle.

Beam. The object of the present invention is a beam composed of elements which may be made of terracotta and reinforcing bars. This beam is characterized by the fact. which is. formed by the union of elements placed end. exhausted. having several lon g itudinal cells separated by partitions, one of the cells of each element being open downwards, so as to form on the lower surface of the joist a longitudinal Wurné channel downwards and . extending over the entire length of the joist, this channel being filled with concrete in which is. drowned a mature ar iron.

The attached drawing represents. by way of example, two embodiments of a joist according to the present invention.

Figs. 1 and 2 show two ceramic elements entering into the composition of the. joist and of which, the only difference is in the number of cells they present.

lia fig. 3 shows a section of joist. In all the figures, the corresponding elements are designated by the same reference numbers.

The beam is composed, as has been said, by a certain number of elements according to FIG. 1 or fig. 2.

These elements, which are all similar, are pieces of terracotta comprising any number of longitudinal cells 6, for example eight (fig. 1) or seven (fig. 2), separated by partitions 7, one of the cells. being open downwards so as to form, in the beam, a longitudinal or green channel 1 on one of its main faces, designated by the underside. The beam is further provided with flanges 2 formed on the ridges between the lower face and the two other adjacent main faces, said flanges 2 extending said face.

lower, and chamfers 3 formed on the two tres edges parallel to the aforementioned edges, said chamfers 3 intersecting the edges of the upper part of the beam parallel to the edges 2.

To build the joist. the elements are placed one behind the other (fig. 3a, b, c ...) their channels 1 constituting a single channel which occupies the entire length of the beam. The channel 1 is filled with cement 5 by embedding in the mass of this cement a reinforcing iron whose ends protrude outside the vertical planes limiting each of the end elements of the beam.

Edges 2 have. for goal. prevent that when the joists are placed side by side, in order to constitute a floor, their vertical facings do not come into contact with each other, but rather that the edges 2 come into contact, so that there is a channel between the two beams, the bottom of which is formed by the union of the deiLx edges.
