Description
Stahlbewehrter Holzbalken.
Steel-reinforced wooden beam. The invention forms a steel-reinforced wooden beam. The invention consists in that the reinforcement for absorbing the tensile stress has round steel bars which have bent tips at their ends at right angles, which are hammered into the wooden beams, with iron buckles attached to the beams at intervals to hold the steels. The effect of the reinforcement is therefore comparable to that of reinforced concrete.
The calculation of wooden beams reinforced in this way must be carried out in a similar way to the calculation method for reinforced concrete subjected to bending. The necessary assumptions for this (ratio of elasticity numbers and the like) must be determined on the basis of tests.
The main advantage of such a reinforced wooden beam is that no processing whatsoever is required on the beam itself and the reinforcement can even be produced on the building itself using simple means.
In the accompanying drawing, an embodiment of the subject invention is illustrated. It shows: Fig. 1 three pre-machined edge steels and iron buckles for their attachment, Fig. 2 is a cross section through a be reinforced beam, Fig. 3 is a side view of a reinforced beam.
The illustrated, a rectangular cross-section having wooden beam a has on its underside a reinforcement b, wel che consists of round steel, which are bent at both ends and forged into points d that are hammered into the wooden beam. The round bars are also fastened to the beam by means of buckles c, which are nailed to the beam with nails e at intervals of about 1.50 m from one another.
