Crossing device for trolleybus and tram supply lines. When installing a trolley bus network, it is often necessary to cross two overhead lines supplying, one to the trolleybuses and the other to the trams.
The trolleybus line normally comprises two wires, one positive, the other negative, and it is important that this last wire is not in contact with the positive wire constituting the tram line.
The present invention meets these desires. According to this invention, the guide elements along which the vehicle socket-outlets move at the crossing points are placed lower than the axes of the trolleybus contact lines and are connected to the aforementioned trolley-bus lines and of trams. The positive tram wire is placed at the height of the aforementioned guide elements, that is to say lower than the trolleybus lines. Insulators are further provided to electrically separate the negative trolley bus wire and the positive tram wire.
In the accompanying drawing, FIGS. 1 to 6 relate to a first example according to which the tram wire is insulated from the negative wire of the trolleybus, the isolation members being placed on the tram way wire.
Fig. 1 is a plan view of the crossing.
Fig. 2 is an elevational view of the positive wire of a trolleybus with a vertical section taken in front of and along this wire. Fig. 3 is an elevational view of the tram wire and of an insulator following it.
Fig. 4 is a vertical section showing the element of the crossing device arranged along the tram wire.
Fig. 5 is a vertical section showing the element of the crossing apparatus, arranged along the positive wire of the trolleybus.
Fig. 6 shows the crossover device seen from below.
Figs. 7 and 8 relate to another embodiment in which the negative wire of the trolley bus is isolated from the wire of the tram, the isolating members being placed on the negative wire of the trolleybus.
Fig. 7 is a plan view.
Fig. 8 is an elevational view of the trolleybus wire with vertical section taken forward and along this wire.
In fig. 1 we see two crossing devices interposed on the two contact wires of a trolleybus line, at the places where this line meets a tramway line. We see at 1 and l ', in this figure, the positive wire and the negative wire of the trolleybus. The positive wire of the #ay tram line is shown in 2, fig. 1 and 3.
In the device of FIGS. 1 to 6, the positive wires of the trolleybus and the tram are joined together and they are isolated from the negative wire of the trolleybus.
Each crossover device is. consisting of two conductive guide elements 3 and 4 or 3 'and 4' fixed to each other by test bolt 5 or 5 ', elements 3 and 3' being arranged along the trolleybus lines, and the elements 4 and 4 'following the tram line.
Elements 3, 4 and 3 ', 4' are joined near their ends by rods 6 and 6 'which are chosen to be more or less long, depending on the value of the crossing angle; the elements 3, 3 'and 4, 4' have, at their lower part, ribs 7 and 8 along which the power outlet members of the trolleybus and of the tram respectively move. In their middle part, the elements 3 form an opening 9 on which fins 11 are provided for. laterally maintain said current-taking members.
In the center of the crossing is arranged a stud 13, on which pass the power outlet members of the trolleybus and the tram.
The guide elements 3, 4 and 3 ', 4' along which move the vehicle power socket members at the crossing point are arranged lower than the axes 40, 50 (fig. 2 and 8). trolleybus lines so that the socket outlets of vehicles traveling on the tram line (socket outlet by bow or pantograph) do not risk catching the trolleybus line.
The element 3 of a crossing device is connected to the corresponding feed wire 1 of the trolleybus line by conductive rods 15 secured at their ends by means of clamps 17. The two clamps 17 are, moreover, joined together. by a rod 19 from which is suspended by means of tabs 21, the element 3 of the crossing apparatus.
In the device of FIGS. 1 to 6, an insulator 20 has been laid between the tram wire 2 and the element 4 ′ of the crossing device situated opposite a negative wire l ′ of the trolley bus. Between the branch 4 'of this crossing device and the element 4 of the other crossing device, is interposed a second insulator 22.
On the side opposite to this insulator, the element 4 is fixed directly to the tram wire 2. Thanks to the arrangement adopted, there can be no communication between the negative wire of the trolleybus and the positive wires of the trolleybus or of the tram. Any danger of short-circuiting is thus radically eliminated.
In addition, the device which has just been described is particularly simple and very easy to implement.
In the example shown in FIGS. 7 and 8, the positive trolleybus wire 1 and the positive tramway wire 2 are electrically connected to each other and the negative trolleybus wire 1 'is insulated from the wires 1 and 2.
The guide elements 3, 4 and 3 ', 4' are, here again, lower than the axes 40, 50 of the trolleybus wires 1, 1 '. The metal rods 15 'fixed to the negative wire 1' are interconnected by clamps 25 'and hoops 26'. Between the clamps 25 'are arranged rods 27' and insulating blocks 28 '. The element 3 'is suspended using legs 29'. Insulating bars 31 'are interposed between this element and the clamps 25'.
