Mais comme, d'autre part, la, longueur utile de ce filament, de l'anodLe et -de la, grille intermédiaire est dans une certaine mesure -déterminée par la, lon gueur donde die fenctionnementet que la lon gueur des connexions est également limitée par les conditions de capacité parasite et d'impédance parasiteà ces longueurs, d'onde, on en -est amenéà réduire toutes les dimen sions;
Pour -éviter un échauffement exagéré de la grille par lie filament, il est prévu, de cons tituer la support de grille17, servantégale- -ment U'amenôe de fension, sous forme d'un manchon dont le diamètre est de Pordre de grandeur #de -celui de Io, grille, fixé, parexem- ple par vis18, en bon contact électrique -et thermiqueà un tube bon conducteur de la ,oha-leur 19 eoudh;
Electronic discharge tube for very high frequencies. The present invention relates to an electronic discharge tube for very high frequencies, corresponding for example to UeGimetric or metric wavelengths.
The object of the invention is to obtain a tube operating at -these lengths, & 'wave, which is c, capable of dissipating great instantaneous power, in other words, which can present , at least for a short time, a particularly high ratio of the current to saturation of the, ca thode to the surface of Fanodet.
The tube according to the invention is characterized in that the grid is constructed in such a way that the heat produced on the tube is brought to. the outside of the tube by the element, which supports the tube. The grid is made of material which is a good conductor of the electricity and the electricity and that the cathode has a high active surface, so that the ratio of the saturation current of the cathacla to </ B > the surface, of the anode, reaches an instantaneous value of at least 200 mA / P_m # without overheating of the grid.
This allows the construction of a tube having very small dimensions utides die filament, electrode-grid -and plate to avoid undesirable capacities at frequencies, of operation.
A tube according to the invention will be presented, by by way of example and in a more detailed manner, in the following description, given in relation to the appended drawing, in, which: The, fig. 1 shows, in longitudinal section, an embodiment of the tube for very high frequencies according to the invention, -and FIG. 2 shows another embodiment of the support of the grid and the partitions; of this organ outside the tube.
The tube shown in FIG. 1 comprises a cylindrical anode 1 forming a portion of the empty enclosure and, of which flared parts 2 and 3 are sealed to balloons, glass ends 4 -and 5 respectively. A inside the a -node 1, -and toncentrically, there are provided a grid 6 and a filament 7, both of which are made up of strands. - following the generators- ratrices, of cylinders.
The balloon 4 supports, via plugs; metal 8 forming socket outlets, the current supply rods for the 9 filament. These 9 rods carry at their their ides end, platelets -con-cl # wtrioes 10. In these platelets come, respectively fix two groups of, more numerous rods, and, consequently, of smaller diameter, it, so arranged to lie on generatrices of one cylinder, the rods of a group! interposed with, the rods the other.
On the ends of these rods 11 are fixed, by welded ribs 12, the cathacle fi-Io 7. The distance between the strands 7 (the filament is maintained, by means of -wn- equipotential connections, 13. These -strands are joined together in the form of a lifting beam aumqyen of a part 1.4 in which come to fix the 'ends of all the strands, this form allowing a ccmpenseti # on die the expansion due to the -heat, the,
middle connection of these strands being thus secured. A screen 15 reduces the interaction between this part 14 and the gate voltage terminal which will be described later. A The other end of the active port of the filawents binds glass-m, 6tal seal between, the anode flare 2 and the flask 4 is protected by the 'screen 16 against the emission of the fila, - meut.
For the reoherehé goal, which -is a tube susceptible of Ò-urng '-. R a very high remote pmesance on the anode 1, -the filament 7 must, all things being balanced, produce a very strong emission and should, therefore, be of large dimensions.
But as, on the other hand, the useful length of this filament, of the anode and of the intermediate grid is to some extent determined by the wavelength of the operation and the length of the connections is also limited by the parasitic capacitance and parasitic impedance conditions at these wavelengths, we are led to to reduce all the dimensions;
this filament should ultimately produce an intense emission in a reactively small volume and this results in a very great heating of the grid and of the grid support by direct action of the filament. The an-o & e can be cooled energîquemen # by a cooling device pax fltuildie en forced eirüul.-atio-n not shown in the drawing.
To -avoid an exaggerated heating of the grid by filament binds, provision is made to constitute the grid support 17, serving equally as the cracking element, in the form of a sleeve whose the diameter is of the order of magnitude # that of Io, grid, fixed, for example by screws 18, in good electrical contact -and thermal to a good tube conductor of the, oha-them 19 eoudh;
As indicated in 20 -in a metal cap 21 sealed in the 'baJ # - lion 5. In order to reduce the # capaoit6, the gate exit' is provided opposite to the output of the filament. To flush the insulation between the grid and the ano # d # - ,, the balloon to is folded in 22 in order to alleviate the path of the leakage currents.
The tube 19 # & is perforated, ramme indicated, in 23-, in order to lighten the structure of the, connection of the grid. A screen 24 protects the metal-glass seal - of the anode sleeve 3 with the ballan, 5 against the emission and heating of < / B> the grid. A the other end, a cylindrical sleeve 25 serves to fix the wires, grids, 7 in their positions respective ,.
#Connections equipotential d?, Esl) acement 26 are used to give a certain rigidity to the grid. On should be noted, in addition, that the gate output tube 19 provides, thus to this connection a favorable r6ckite impedance for very shortwave operation .
In the variant shown in the fig. 2, the tube which is a good conductor of the heat and of the el # actrkité 19 'is suuided or soldered on a sleeve 27 which is closed on its inner side in the form of a cap and which is sealed by -flare 28 -in the folded edge 29 of the balloon 5.
A the inside of this sleeve 27 is welded, -as indicated in 30, a hollow conductor 31 serving < B> to the application Uu grid potential per row to low im # weight.
