<tb> Fluida.
<tb> Strömung <SEP> in <SEP> Spiralform <SEP> überzuführen, <SEP> wozu

<tb> as <SEP> extensions <SEP> of the <SEP> centrifugal shackles
<tb> in the <SEP> axial <SEP> distance <SEP> from <SEP> the same <SEP> were arranged <SEP> ..
<SEP> In <SEP> connection <SEP> with <SEP> such <SEP> one
<tb> the latter <SEP> suggestion <SEP> was <SEP> the <SEP> usage
<tb> such <SEP> extensions <SEP> themselves <SEP> as <SEP> rotating
<tb> blades <SEP> not taken into account <SEP> left <SEP> or ignored, as well as the use of rotating blades with radially varying inflow angles. The fact that the stationary blades must produce a swirl in such a way that the swirl component changes inversely proportional to the radius, and that the rotor blades must therefore be adapted to this change at their entry point, as well as the increase in peripheral speed proportional to the radius, thus appears to have been disregarded in such earlier proposals.
The centrifugal conveying machine according to the invention with an inlet guide channel arranged at least on one side, in which the fluid initially flows radially and then axially, is distinguished by the fact that stationary inlet guide vanes of such a design are arranged on the latter so that a swirling movement is created for the flowing medium in the direction of rotation of the impeller, where the speed of this movement in the entry plane to the rotor changes inversely proportional to the radial distance from the machine axis, and that the rotor has blades whose front derkanten at the root ends have the smallest inclination and compared to an eel level have a progressively increasing angle of inclination with increasing radial distance, so,
that the medium enters the rotor blades without bumps under the operating conditions on which the design is based. The invention is mainly applicable to compressors with bilateral air inlet, in which the air inlets are arranged in the form of an annular inlet channel that is coaxial to the axis of rotation of the compressor and symmetrical to the plane of rotation of the impeller.
In cases where the entry part of the rotor blades are formed by bending them out of the axial plane, it may prove necessary for reasons of stress distribution and manufacturing not to bend the blades at their roots. They can then run axially at their roots, i.e. on the smallest radius.
In the drawing, a Ausführungsbei is game of the invention, applied to a centrifugal air compressor with air inlet on both sides, shown, namely: Fig. 1 is an axial section through a sol Ches impeller with the air inlet channels, and Fig. 2 is a cross section along line AB of Fig. 1, with typical guide vanes.
The impeller 1 has radial blades 2 on both sides of the cutting disk 3 in its symmetry and plane of rotation. The impeller ro benefits in a housing with against the axis initially conically diverging and then axia1 bent walls 4, respectively. 4A. The blades 2 have axially extending extensions 2A forming a piece with them, which represent the inlet parts of the blades and which are curved so that the incoming air is axially accelerated, i. E. they have, based on an axial plane, a wach send angle of inclination with the radius. The air inlets of the compressor have channels formed by walls 5, 6 which belong to the stationary Ge housing, the walls 5 representing stiffened extensions of the wall parts 4A.
The walls 6 can be parts of the Trä supporting the impeller 1 or test-connected to them.
In the so-formed annular air channels of the inlets several ringför shaped Umlenikflächen 7 are housed, which can be divided in order to facilitate installation in the circumferential direction and lead the radially inflowing air in the divided channels in the axial direction over. These rings 7 are supported by means of incisions 7A (FIG. 2) provided on their leading edges on stationary entry guide vanes 8 having corresponding incisions on their inner peripheral edges. The latter are firmly connected to the walls 5 and 6 by means of rivets or the like, which are passed through sets 8A attached to the outer and inner edges of the guide vanes.
The guide vanes 8, which stand mutually from about <B> 25 </B> mm, thus support the annular deflecting surfaces 7, of which three are provided on each inlet side, sufficiently by means of the aforementioned A cuts. The leading edges of the blades 8 lie in an axial plane. (See Fig. 2) and their trailing edges close with the ge on a circle struck around the impeller axis tangent an angle of z. B. 42 a. Between these said edges, the blades 8 are curved in the shape of a circular arc, and the edges run parallel to the running wheel axis, as can be seen from FIG.
The blades on both inlet sides are curved in the same direction, namely forwards, that is, in the direction of rotation of the impeller (arrow in Fig. 2).
The air entering the compressor radially is deflected by the blades 8 and leaves the latter with a swirl component whose direction corresponds to the direction of rotation of the rotor, around the channels formed by the walls 5, 6 and the rings 7 to flow through.
In the latter, an axial component is imparted to the air, so that it moves forward helically against the axial extensions 2, 1 of the radial rotor blades 2 .the swirl component of the air speed is inversely: proportional to the radius.
The leading edges 2B of the extensions 2A of the rotor blades 2 are set at such an angle that the air enters smoothly on all radii under the operating conditions on which the construction is based and with regard to the swirling movement prevailing in the flow before it hits the edges 2B .
In the case described, where the entry parts 2A are formed by bending the axial extensions of the radial rotor blades 2 and where it is necessary for reasons of stress distribution not to bend the root part 2C of the entry parts 2A, this is the one caused by the stationary guide vanes 8 Swirl of such a size that the swirl component at the root of the blade is the same or only slightly different from the circumferential speed at this point.
The relative speed at the root of the blade is then practically axially aligned, and the condition of the smooth entry into the blade extensions 2A is even fulfilled at the roots, where the blades have no inclination, the same as on all other radii.
One is entitled to assume that a compressor equipped with the device described and with air inlet on both sides has a value of
EMI0003.0013
could have for a pressure ratio of about 2.5, and = 0.4 for a pressure ratio of about 5.0, where Q is the capacity of air in cubic meters per second, N is the number of revolutions per second and D is the impeller diameter in meters. These values are estimated to be about 60% more than the values achievable in the absence of the device according to the invention and without encountering compressibility difficulties at the inlet.
The present invention is particularly suitable for use in machine types as described in British Patent Nos. 456980, 461887 and 471368, in which it is important to obtain the greatest possible output in relation to size and weight. The desired condition that the swirl component changes inversely proportional to the radius can also be satisfied by using blades that are similar to blades 8 but are arranged with their edges inclined to the impeller axis when such blades are provided with a twist , that is, with angles of incidence that vary over the length of the blade.
But by using the means of arranging the blade edges parallel to the impeller axis and transferring the flow in the air ducts generally from a centripetal to the axial direction, the blades can be provided with a constant cross-section over their unsupported length, which of course is practically a large one Represents advantage. For this reason, the described shape is preferred for the stationary inlet guide vanes, but other shapes can also be considered.
