Sealing device for a rotating shaft, in particular a gas compressor. The present invention relates to a sealing device for rotating shafts, in particular for the shafts of gas compressors.
It is difficult to seal the shafts on which the wheels of gas compressors are mounted so that no gas losses whatsoever occur. Stuffing boxes are not satisfactory because a complete seal is not possible, the lubrication is very difficult and a perfect axis alignment must always exist, since vibrations occur if the axis alignment is poor,
so that the compressors have to be operated at a lower speed.
The aim of the invention is therefore to stop a rotating shaft, in particular a gas compressor, in such a way that no gas losses occur.
According to the invention, this is done from sealing the rotating shaft, in particular a :. Gas compressor, by means of a liquid speed.
In the case of the liquid device according to the invention for a rotating MTel.1e, the arrangement is such that the flowing sealing liquid is thrown outward by the centrifugal force, around the shaft coaxially surrounding liquid ring with a U-shaped cross-section through which the gas cannot penetrate.
The design can either be such that a rotating disk attached to the rotating shaft and a stationary housing surrounding it forms an annular channel with a U-shaped cross section, or a stationary one Plate in a housing fastened on the shaft together with the latter forms the U-shaped ring channel.
In both embodiments, a seal is expediently still present, which comes into effect when the shaft is stationary, but becomes ineffective when the shaft rotates due to centrifugal action.
Embodiments of the subject matter of the invention are shown in the cell bill, namely: FIG. 1 shows a longitudinal section through an embodiment of the sealing device with the liquid in the position for a shaft rotating at full speed, FIG. a, same longitudinal section as FIG. 1 with the liquid in the position for a stationary shaft.
Fig. 3 shows a second embodiment of the sealing device in longitudinal section and Fig. 4 shows a half of the same! In front view with section along line 4-4 in Fig. Ä. Fig. 5 shows a third embodiment of the Abdichtungvorriehtung in longitudinal section and Fig Front view of the same.
In the embodiment shown in FIGS. 1 and 2, the shaft 10 passes through an opening 9 in the end wall 11 of a gas compressor. The gas under pressure; tries to escape along the shaft in the direction of the arrow. The annular Ge housing part 12 is rotationally fixed on the shaft ver wedges, and the annular housing part 13 is connected to the part 12.
The cylindrical sleeve 14 is screwed to the wall 11 coaxially to the opening 9 and protrudes! Into the housing formed by the parts 12 and 13 and has a disk-shaped projection 15 perpendicular to the shaft and a conical diversion projection 16 which extends from the Approach 15 expanded from and extends towards the housing part 12.
The housing part 12 has a collecting ring 17 which protrudes beyond the outer end of the diversion cone 16.
In the inner end of the housing part 13 sits the slotted collar 18 made of rubber or another. elastic, material which is partly slipped over the 'inner opening edge of the housing.
The in. At a distance from one another, the lying inner ends of the collar touch the bushing 14 and form a seal when the shaft is not rotating, as shown in FIG. 2. They spread apart under the effect of centrifugal force as soon as the shaft has reached their full speed, so that they are removed from .der sleeve 14, as shown in Fig.1.
The sealing housing formed by the parts 12 and 13 contains a liquid 19 of low viscosity and high: Ent ignition point, as e.g.
B. 01, which when the shaft is stationary. under part of the housing, as shown in FIG. As soon as the shaft rotates, the liquid is pressed by centrifugal force against the outer parts of the inner surfaces of the housing and forms, as can be seen from FIG.
a U-shaped liquid ring lying on both sides of the extension 15. The gas cannot pass through this liquid ring, so that an effective seal is formed.
If the shaft 10 runs slowly before the Naechine is switched off, the liquid column shown in FIG. 1 coincides between the extension 15 and the housing part 12 above the shaft. In order to prevent the liquid from falling onto the shaft and penetrating along it into the interior of the compressor, the collecting ring 17 and the bypass cone 16 are provided.
The falling liquid is guided around the outer end of the deflecting cone 16 by the collecting ring 17 and then flows around the outer surface of the deflecting cone into the groove formed between this and the projection 15, from there to the lower part of the, the seal housing to fall without touching the shaft. .
As can be seen from the above, the liquid forms the seal when the shaft is running and the collar forms the seal when the shaft is slowly rotating or stationary. As a result of the lifting of the collar from the sleeve 14 under the influence of centrifugal force, it is prevented from being worn.
The closure device shown in FIGS. 1 and 2 is suitable for the use of compressors for gases such as those generated in what sergaswerke. The variant shown in Fig. 3 and 4 of this Ausfüh approximate form is suitable for refrigeration compressors.
In the embodiment shown in Fig. 3 and 4, the collar for the formation of the seal comes to a standstill in the way. Instead, a ring 20 made of har system, polished metal is provided, which rests around the sleeve 14 on the wall 11, and by springs 21 is a ring 22 of relatively moderately soft metal, such as. B. brass, ge conditions the ring 20 is pressed.
The ring 22 is on the housing part 13 by means. Link arms 23 and 24, to which the springs 21 are fastened, and slides on the cylindrical extension 25 of the housing part 13.
With regard to the liquid seal, the operation of the sealing device according to FIGS. 3 and 4 is the same as described for the embodiment according to FIGS. 1 and 2. When the shaft is stationary, the springs 21 press the ring 23 against the ring 20 and form the seal when the shaft is stationary or slowly rotating. With increasing the speed of the shaft, the ring 22 is lifted from the ring 20 by the Zen trifugal force and thereby prevents wear and tear.
The sealing housing na: cb. 1 to 4 can be provided with cooling ribs on the outer surface in the usual way.
In the embodiment of the invention shown in FIGS. 5 and 6, the sealing housing 30 is stationary and fastened to the end wall of the compressor housing. The rubber collar 31 is fastened to the shaft 10, the outer slotted end 32 of which rests against the inner end of the housing 30 and forms the seal when the shaft is running quietly or slowly.
In addition, the radially protruding disk 33 is attached to the shaft with a flat catch ring 34 which protrudes beyond the outer end of the conical diversion flange 35, the latter protruding inward from the outer wall of the housing 30, and also with a catch ring 36 , which is the outer end of the conical. Umleitflansches 37 protrudes, which protrudes from the wall 11 into the housing.
From an external supply line, water is fed through the tube 38 into the funnel 39, the lower end of which is connected to the water inlet 41 of the housing 30 through the pipeline 40. The lower end of the housing is connected by the pipe 42 to the interior of a funnel 43, part of which the funnel 39 is formed.
The lower end of the funnel 43 leads to the water drain. The funnel 39 has an opening 44 at the upper end approximately at the same height as the inlet 41 in order to prevent water entering the funnel 39 through the pipe 38 from rising higher in the housing than the intended height.
When the shaft rotates, the water in the housing is thrown outwards by the rotation of the plate 33 and forms a liquid ring lying koa.xia: 1 to the shaft, U-shaped in cross-section, on both sides and around the outer ends of the plate 33 . The water ring forms a seal that prevents gas from escaping.
Here, under the influence of centrifugal force, the upper ends of the collar 31 spread apart, so that they more closely rest against the inner ends of the housing wall, which prevents wear when the shaft rotates.
As soon as the speed of the compressor shaft decreases, the collar rests against the inner end of the housing wall so that it forms a seal, and the water column above the shaft is passed through the bypass flasks 35 when it falls down and 37 and the collecting rings 34 and 36 are diverted from the shaft, so that the water falls into the lower part of the housing without touching the shaft.
To achieve the required cooling, a sufficient amount of water is supplied through the supply pipe 38 to ensure that the in hig. 6 indicated by the dashed line, water level, and the excess water is drained off at the lower end of the funnel 43.
