Description
Container with lid.
The present invention relates to a container with a lid, which is characterized in that the upper part of the body of the container is conical in shape, in that the lid also has a conical shape, corresponding to that of this container. upper part of the body of the container on which it is intended to be placed, and in that the bottom of the cover has, on the inside, an annular groove intended to receive a seal against which the upper edge of the container comes to rest to ensure the etanehe closure, when a vacuum prevails in the container and.
the. atmospheric pressure outside, the conical parts of the container and of the lid then facing each other but without making contact.
The appended drawing shows, by way of example, an embodiment of the container with a lid according to the invention.
IVF 1 is a partial vertical sectional view showing the cover in place on the body of the container, to ensure the latter is closed under vacuum.
Fig. 2 is a similar view in the case where the closure, not having to ensure vacuum tightness, does not include the seal.
The upper part of the container body is conical in shape, as indicated at 1. The cover 2 also has a conical part 3, corresponding to the shape of the part 1 on which this cover is intended to be placed. The bottom of the cover 4 has, on the inside, an annular groove 5 intended to receive a gasket 6 made of rubber for example, against which the upper edge 7 of the conical part 1 of the container comes to rest, as it is indicated in fig. 1, to ensure the sealed closure of the container when a low pressure prevails in the latter and atmospheric pressure outside.
In this case, the conical parts 1 and 3 are then facing each other but do not make contact between them, a small space existing between these parts, as can be seen in the drawing.
The upper edge 7 of the conical part 1 of the body of the container and the depth of the groove 5 of the cover 2 are such that the conical inner surface of the cover comes to fit on the part of the same shape of the container when this is applied. cover to the container after removing the seal 6 from the groove 5 (as shown in Fig. 2) so that the closure is then ensured by the cooperation of these conical surfaces.
It will be noted that, as shown in FIG. 2, the inner surface of the conical part 3, and the outer surface of the conical part 1 arrive in the cooperative position, during the fitting of the cover in the absence of the seal, when the upper edge 7 of the body of the container is still some distance from the bottom of the gorge 5.
The container described offers the advantage of allowing a leaktight closure as follows: The container is first placed in a vacuum bag, when the seal 6 is in place. Then, when there is a vacuum in the container, atmospheric pressure is reestablished in the bell and this pressure, acting on the bottom of the cover 2, hand automatically holds the compressed seal between the bottom of the groove 5 and the upper edge 7 of the container itself, thanks to the vacuum existing inside.
To open the container, it suffices to introduce an object between the bead 8 located at the base of the cover and the oonic part 1, so as to produce a lifting of the cover and an entry of air into the container, which makes reigning atmospheric pressure in the latter.
When atmospheric pressure prevails in the container, the seal 6 is removed, and a good closure of the container can be obtained by cooperation of the conical parts 1 and 3, as shown in fig. 2.
Of course, the container described can be made of any suitable material, molded or stamped, for example metal or plastic.
