Briquet pyrophorique.
La fig. 2 est urne vue analogue .de la se conde forme d'exécution. Dans la construction selon fig. 1;
Lors -de l'aciionnement de la molette, le pouce coopère non seulement avec la surface latérale moletée des éléments 7, mais égale ment avec le bord circulaire 9 formant saillie de ces ;
Pyrophoric lighter. The present invention relates to a spyrop # horz lighter, which, of the type comprising a wheel whose axis of rotation: is arranged parallel to the large chmension of the lighter and the periphery of which protrudes on the face. side of the latter.
In the known briquets of this type, the wheel may be present under the flour of a cylinder of a certain length, on the lateral surface of which one comes to act with the thumb, to produce the rotational movement which is carried - grinds, cooperating with the pyrophoric element.
The lighter according to the invention differs from these known lighters in that the wheel comprises several coaxial knurled elements, rendered., At least unequally daires between them, .espaced.
-in the axial direction and separated from each other, at least in the region intended to protrude from their periphery, by parts set back relative to this periphery, the whole aiming that the adhesion of the finger on the wheel is increased due to the cooperation of the finger with the circular edge forming a projection of the aforesaid elements.
The accompanying drawing shows, by way of example, two embodiments of the briquet according to the invention.
The fi.g. 1 is an elevational view of the first embodiment, partially cut away.
Fig. 2 is a similar view of the urn of the second embodiment. In the construction according to fig. 1;
there is shown at 1 the body of the lighter, at 2 its cover, at 8 the screw for closing its reservoir and at 4 a shaft having at its end 1a grinding wheel 5 cooperating -with the pyrophoric gold @ gene not visible on 2nd drawing . This shaft 4 has a part of square section 6.
The axis of the shaft 4 extends parallel to the large dimension of the lighter.
On the. part, of square section 6, is arranged the wheel which is constituted by five elém @ ents 7, each having the shape of a disc with rectilinear generators, whose outer surface is knurled.
The different elements. 7 are made angularly solid with each other, due to the fact that they are engaged on the square part 6; they are spaced apart and separated from each other, in the axial direction, by parts 8 of the lateral face of the body 1.
These parts 8 are set back relative to the periphery of the elements 7, by an amount equal for example to 2 millimeters. It is easy to see, considering the fiô. I, that each of the elements 7 is engaged in a corresponding housing of the body. 1 of the lighter,
.so that approximately half of the perimeter of each element is visible on two of the. contiguous side faces of the lighter, which are joined by a rounded anâae.
During the action of the wheel, the thumb cooperates not only with the knurled lateral surface of the elements 7, but also with the circular edge 9 which protrudes from these;
different elements. In fact, due to the shrinkage of the parts 8 relative to the periphery of the elements, 7, the pressure of the finger on these elements causes the circular edge 9 to become embedded in. the skin and increases the adhesion due to the mialetage of,
these elements. This adhesion is easily explained by the fact that the direction in which the thumb acts when it drives the wheel is not perpendicular to the axis of the latter,
.but slightly oblique downwards. Experience shows that, thanks to the fact that the wheel is composed of -different elements separated united from the others by -of recessed parts,
you get a @ considerable ; raw ; grip on the wheel.
In the execution woman according to. da fig. 2, the various elements 7 of the wheel belong to a single cylindrical part 10, mounted on the square part 6.
The different elements 7 are spaced in the axial direction and separated from each other by peripheral gorioles.
annular 11 determining, as in the previous example, the formation of the circular edges 9 ,, -with which the finger cooperates to obtain ac # ue adhesion,
