Method and device for cooling gases and liquids. The invention relates to a method for cooling gases and liquids using a compression and an absorption refrigeration system in which the compressor is driven by a heat engine and the absorber is heated with the waste heat from the heat engine. It is already known today that the combination of the compression process with the absorption process in refrigeration systems is significantly more economical than using one or the other process alone.
At. In this combined method, part of the required cooling capacity is covered by the compression system and the other part by the absorption system. The invention makes it possible to increase the economic efficiency of the combined process in the cooling of gases and liquids. Until today, namely, the compression system and the absorption system were always switched in parallel ge, so that some of the gases to be cooled respectively. Liquids were cooled by the compression system and the other part by the absorption system.
The method according to the invention consists in the fact that the medium to be cooled first flows through the evaporator of the compression refrigeration system, where it is cooled down to an intermediate temperature and, after leaving this evaporator, enters the evaporator of the absorption refrigeration system, where it is cooled to the desired final temperature.
With this circuit, the refrigerant of the compression process can be evaporated at a higher pressure, whereby a higher performance figure is achieved for the compression refrigeration system. Since the vapor pressure in the evaporator of the absorption refrigeration system can be kept unchanged due to the desired final temperature of the medium to be cooled, the profitability of the overall system can be increased.
In the drawing, an embodiment example of the device according to the inven tion is shown, the method being explained in example. A system consisting of a compression refrigeration system and an absorption refrigeration system is used. The working steam first flows through the heat engine from a counter-pressure machine a and then reaches the cooker b of the absorption refrigeration system, which is therefore heated by the waste heat from the heat engine. After giving off the heat of condensation in the cooker, the condensate is discharged through the condensate conductor h.
The counterpressure steam machine a drives the compressor c of the compression refrigeration system, which extracts the refrigerant vapors from the evaporator e. the compression system sucks in and compresses. The compressed refrigerant vapors are then precipitated in the condenser d1 of this system, with the condensation process. Released amount of heat is discharged through the line 1, 2 flowing through cooling water.
The refrigerant reaches the evaporator e1 via the regulating valve j1, where it evaporates again. In the cooker b the refrigerant vapors are expelled from the same by heating the solution a and reach the condenser d = of the absorption system, where they condense, transferring their heat to the cooling water flowing through line 1, 2.
The refrigerant passes through the regulating valve j2 into the evaporator e2 of the absorption system, where it evaporates again. The vapors developed here are sucked off by the absorber f and absorbed by the solution in the sem. The heat of solution is passed by cooling a medium flowing through line 3, 4.
The solution enriched with the refrigerant is conveyed by a solution pump g into the cooker b, in which the refrigerant vapors are then expelled from the solution by the condensation of the exhaust vapor. The warm solution then flows back from the cooker b into the absorber f .
The gas to be cooled respectively. The amount of liquid enters the evaporator e1 of the compression system at 5 and leaves it after a certain intermediate temperature has been reached and enters the evaporator e2 of the absorption system, where it is cooled to the desired final temperature. Finally it leaves the evaporator e2 at 6. The evaporators e1, e are therefore connected in series on the side of the medium to be cooled.
