Description
Thermal insulator for pipelines. Thermal insulators for Rohrlei lines are known in various designs, such as pressed glass fiber, cork or stone fittings.
The subject of the present invention is a thermal insulating body for Rchrlinien, which is characterized in that a dimensionally stable shell with a loose, air spaces close in on the insulating filling is provided.
In the accompanying drawing, two exemplary embodiments of the subject matter of the invention are shown, partially in section.
According to Fig. 1, the thermal insulating body consists of a dimensionally stable shell 1. The latter is formed by a Hohlkör by, consisting of an approximately 1-4 mm thick sheet of impregnated cardboard, fabric, pressed material, synthetic resin or the like surfaces. Two such bodies enclose the hot water pipe 2 to be insulated, as FIG. 1 shows.
The shells are circular on the outside and have a channel 3 on the inside to accommodate the hot water pipe 2. Each shell 1 is provided with a loose, air space in closed thermal insulation filling 4, namely z. B. made of cork, wood, glass, rock, metal wool, organic fibers, aluminum foils and the like. Since the shell 1 is dimensionally stable, the insulating filling 4 can be very loose. The air spaces in the filling provide good thermal insulation.
The amount of filling materials required can be relatively small, so that the manufacturing costs are cheap. The weight of this insulating body is small, which makes it easier to transport and assemble on lines.
According to FIG. 2, the sheath 1 is formed by a wire mesh, the insulating filling 4, as in the first embodiment, is of a loose nature. A perforated sheet metal can also be used instead of a wire mesh.
The walls of the shell 1 may or may not extend over the end faces.
The insulating bodies can be attached to the pipelines to be insulated, for example by means of bandages.
