Will man in.
Device for controlling axial fans with adjustable rotor blades. The invention relates to a device for controlling agial blowers with adjustable blades.
If the flow rate of agial blowers suffers major fluctuations, it is well known that the adjustability of the blades is a good possibility of regulation.
The need for this arises in such a case, because when the flow rate changes, the pressure ratio that can be generated in the fan stages increases with decreasing throughput up to a maximum value and then with a further decrease in the throughput speed a rapid decrease due to the flow breaking off at the hub ( Pump limit). The operating range must in any case remain above this limit.
If a fan has to work in a large area and the blades are not adjustable, only a relatively small pressure increase can be generated at the high throughputs per stage, which is often very disadvantageous. Particularly in the case of engines for propelling aircraft, this behavior of the agial fans with non-adjustable blades leads to great difficulties.
If one wants to generate acceptable pressure conditions in agial blowers with fluctuating flow rates over a larger range, the provision of adjustable rotor blades cannot be avoided.
Such blades allow the angle of attack between the resulting approach velocity and the blade profile reference line at the hub, which is decisive for the pressure ratio that can be generated in each case, to be changed. If this angle of attack exceeds a certain maximum value, the flow breaks down at the hub.
The greatest pressure ratio can be achieved when the angle of attack approaches this maximum value. It has been shown that the ability to adapt to the respective delivery rate is sufficient if only the rotor blades are adjusted, which is why it is not necessary to also install the guide blades in an adjustable manner.
The purpose of the invention is now to conform to the initially mentioned. 's way of creating which allows the above findings to be taken into account.
For this purpose, the device according to the invention provides at least one with the rotor of the Axia, l fan circulating, flow-sensitive organ as the impulse generator of the regulation, which determines the direction of the resulting from the circumferential speed of the rotor and the axial entry speed of the conveyor The speed is determined and, with the interposition of a servo motor, the angle of attack of the blades is regulated so that the highest possible pressure ratio is constantly achieved.
The servomotor can expediently act on an adjusting element which is arranged coaxially displaceably in the rotor and is connected to the blade roots via kinematic intermediate elements in such a way that the rotor blades rotate when this adjusting element is axially shifted.
An example embodiment of the invention is illustrated in the accompanying drawing, namely: FIG. 1 shows an axial longitudinal section through the front part of a recoil drive device for an aircraft, which has an axial fan equipped with the control device according to the invention, FIG. 2 shows a section according to line 11-II of FIG. 1,
Fig. 3 shows a part of a section developed in the plane of the drawing along the line III-III of FIG. 1, and FIG. 4 shows in a section corresponding to FIG. 3 a modification of a detail.
In the figures, 1 denotes the inlet diffuser of the recoil drive device for an aircraft that is moving in the direction of arrow A. Furthermore, 2 designates the rotor of an axial fan, designed as a drum, which is coupled in a rotationally fixed manner to the shaft 3 of a drive machine designed as a turbine 4. The guide vanes of the axial fan 2 are denoted by 5 and its blades are denoted by 6. Each blade root 7 is provided with a pin 10 on which a connecting rod 11 engages.
At the other end of each connecting rod 11, a pin 12 is ge superimposed, which is connected to a slider 13 serrated along one side. The sliding pieces 13 of the rotor blades 6, which are in alignment in the axial direction, are inserted into a common longitudinal groove 14 of an adjusting device which is axially displaceable in the drum rotor 2 and is designed as a cylindrical sleeve 15. A rail 16 (FIGS. 2 and 3) which is toothed on one side and provided with wedge tracks is inserted into each longitudinal groove 14.
After the associated rotor blades 6 have been set in the correct position relative to the adjustment sleeve 15, this can be pressed from one end of the latter against the teeth of the sliding pieces 13 by means of a longitudinal rail 17 provided with counter wedges. In this way, the sliders 13 can be held in place relative to the adjustment sleeve 15, so that a certain longitudinal displacement of the adjustment sleeve 15 corresponds to a certain rotation of the barrel 6.
As shown in Fig. 3, the dimensions of the connecting rods 11 and their points of attack 10 on the blade feet 7 can be different for each fan stage, so that the ratio of axial displacement of the adjusting sleeve 15 to the rotation angle of the blades 6 from stage to stage is different.
The adjusting sleeve 15 forms a piece with the cylinder 18 of a hydraulically operated servo motor, the piston of which is denoted by 19. The servomotor cylinder 18 is axially displaceable on the piston 19, rotates with the rotor 2 and is provided with an outflow opening 20 through which pressure fluid can flow from the space 27 to the right of the piston 19 into a space 23 inside the drum rotor 2.
The servomotor piston 19, which also rotates with the rotor 2, is, however, axially fixed. 21 denotes a flow opening provided in this Kol ben 19 through which the space 26 on the left of the piston 19 is connected to the space 27 on the right -of it and which exerts a throttling effect on the pressure fluid flowing through. 22 denotes an oil pump which rotates with the drum rotor and which is provided with a pinion 22 '.
The latter rolls on a ring gear 222 fixedly connected to the bearing 22s for the drive shaft 3. The pump 22 sucks in 01 from the space 23 inside the drum rotor 2 through a channel 24 in the piston rod 19 'and through a line 241 and, after it has been brought to a higher pressure, conveys this through a line 25' and a second channel 25 in the piston rod 19 'into the space 26 to the left of the servomotor piston 19. The space 26, as already mentioned, communicates through the opening 21 with the space 27 to the right of the piston 19.
The outflow of pressurized oil from this space 27 through the opening 20 is controlled by a rotatable bar arranged flag 28, which is arranged in front of the first ring of blades 6 and rotates with the rotor 2. The axis of the flag 28 is provided at the lower end with an eccentric disk 29 which more or less covers the outflow opening 20 depending on the flag position.
This flag 28 is constantly in the direction of the speed that results from the speed of the rotor 2 and the axial entry speed of the conveyor in the immediately following blade wreath, so that it acts as a pulse generator for the desired control of the fan by adjusting the blades in Ab depending on the delivery rate.
With a certain coverage of the outflow opening 20 by the eccentric flag washer 29, the pressure forces on both sides of the servomotor piston 19 are balanced.
If, on the other hand, the pressure ratio generated in the fan stages does not correspond to the highest possible, an axial displacement of the servomotor cylinder 18 and thus of the adjustment sleeve 15 is caused until the pressure forces on both sides of the servomotor piston 19 are in equilibrium again is.
The axial movements of the adjusting sleeve 15 follow the movements of the flag 28 acting as a pulse generator on the foot, the retroactive forces on this flag being only small, so that it can be built small and light (small deviation moment).
Because of the viscosity of the oil, when the flag disc 29 moves rapidly, damping forces occur which prevent the flag 28 from fluttering. Each flag position is thus assigned a specific position of the servomotor cylinder 18 and thus also of the rotor blades 6.
The control device shown in FIGS. 1 to 3 also has a 1 = overspeed safety device in the form of a centrifugal pendulum 40. This pendulum receives its drive via a bevel gear 41 and a shaft 42 from the drum rotor 2.
If the maximum permissible fan speed is exceeded when the maximum possible pitch angle of the rotor blades 6 is reached or when the adjustment means fail, the centrifugal pendulum 40 adjusts a valve 43 that sets the inflow of the pump 44 from a container 45 into one of the turbine 4 switched combustion chamber 46 controlled, in a closing sense, so that then the power output of the turbine 4 driving the fan is reduced.
In Fig. 4, a second embodiment of the kinematic intermediate members is shown, which produce an operative connection between tween the adjustment member, designed as a cylindrical sleeve, and the feet of the running blades. In this figure, 30 denotes the blade roots, which are provided with teeth 31 in a plane perpendicular to the axis of rotation of the associated blades.
In the teeth 31 of the barrel blades of the various stages, which are located in alignment in the axial direction of the fan, engages a common rack 32, which is guided in a zugeord Neten groove of the adjustment sleeve and by means of a wedge rail 33 against the teeth 31 can be pressed as soon as the blades have been brought into the correct position relative to the adjustment sleeve. Since the blades are held in the correct position relative to the adjustment sleeve in this case, with. a longitudinal displacement of the latter a corresponding rotation of the blades he follows.
As shown in FIG. 4, the gear ratios of the teeth 31 are different from stage to stage, so that the ratio of the axial displacement of the adjusting sleeve to the angle of rotation of the blades is different from stage to stage. In order to prevent the flag from fluttering, it can be provided with a damping device.
The servo motor, by means of which the adjustment sleeve is axially displaced, can in principle be operated hydraulically, electrically or pneumatically and is to be dimensioned in such a way that it provides the required power for every operating ratio. If the servomotor is electrically operated, the flag can control it using contacts.
If necessary, several flags serving as pulse generators can be attached to the same rotor. In principle, the invention can also be used when the rotor is designed as a disk type. In this case, axially displaceable rods can be provided as adjusting elements, and the arrangement can be made so
that the adjusting rods are guided in the corresponding holes in the carriers. In accordance with one of the embodiments described above, the kinematic intermediate links between the adjusting rods and blade roots can also be designed as connecting rods in this case, and a pin provided with a sliding piece can in turn be mounted at one end of these connecting rods.
The various toothed sliding pieces can be arranged displaceably along the adjustment rods and, after the rotor blades have been set in the correct position relative to the adjustment rods. can be pressed against corresponding teeth on the adjusting rods, so that they are then held firmly relative to the adjusting rods and therefore a certain longitudinal displacement of the adjusting rods corresponds to a certain rotation of the blades.
The dimensions of the P1eue1 and their points of attack on the blade feet can be different for each stage, so that the ratio of the axial displacement of the adjusting rods to the angle of rotation of the blades differs from stage to stage. In the case of a rotor designed in the form of a disk and if the blade roots are toothed, the adjusting element can be built up from toothed rods with which the blade roots are in engagement.
These racks can be axially guided in corresponding bores in the carriers and the gear ratios of the teeth can also be different from stage to stage, so that the ratio of the axial displacement of the racks to the angle of rotation of the blades from stage to stage is different.
Instead of flags, direction-sensitive pitot tubes running on membranes can also be used instead of flags, and they can be designed as spherical or cylindrical pitot tubes.
