Apparatus comprising a device for jerkily advancing an image film. The invention relates to an apparatus which is provided with a device which is used for jerky movement of an image film, optionally with a sel-iallaufzeielinung or provided with a sel-iallaufzeielinung along a picture window, for example on a recording or projection apparatus.
Known apparatus of this type, which do not have to meet the very highest requirements in terms of the accuracy of locomotion, and which can therefore be of a relatively simple construction, have, apart from a film path in which the picture window is provided, and a continuously rotating drive roller, which, seen in the direction of the forward movement of the film, lies behind the picture window, between the film path and the drive roller a periodic up and down movement,
Moving gate to enlarge the film loop between the picture window and the drive roller, with the help of which the film is pushed forward at the right moment by the center distance of two film frames.
It is also known in these types of apparatus to determine the shape of the loop, when it is largest, by guiding it over its entire length in such a way that no different curvatures can occur in it during successive blows. It is hereby guaranteed that the parts of the loop lying on the sides of the striking organ always have the same lengths during operation, regardless of the type of film used and its tension differences.
The consequence of this is that the film is always shifted over the same length along the image window and the correct position of the image on the screen is guaranteed during projection.
In the apparatus according to the invention, this result is achieved in that the fixed, straight film web has a length such that the film part between the picture window and the beater formed as a cylindrical roller is periodically rolled up and down along the film web. In this case, the film web is longer than usual and in the outermost position of the striking element it extends into the vicinity of the striking element, so that the part of the film loop located at this point is forced to form a straight piece that lies against the film web .
The term "film web" should in this case also include the combination of a film web of relatively small length with a special guide element lying in the extension straight line of this film web.
In one embodiment of the invention, in relation to known devices with a cylindrical impact roller, the advantage that the film loop rests against the roller of the impact member over a larger angle, so that the latter engages over a larger part of the film, whereby the risk of the film breaking or being stretched during the jerky movement is reduced.
It has been found that the improvement in the jerky movement of the film in this embodiment is such that it is also applicable in those cases in which better, but more complex drive means, such as, for example, because of the requirement for an extremely precise film advance. B. the Maltese cross or gripper system, which is generally used in larger systems, were preferable.
Appropriately, the film web drive roars and impact organs are arranged with respect to one another that in the outermost position of the impact organ the distance between this organ and the film path and that between the impact organ and the drive roller is at most three times the thickness of the film.
Through this special arrangement of the drive claw with respect to the impact roller, the result is achieved that the length of the part of the film loop located between these elements is as small as is still just permissible from a practical point of view.
In the accompanying drawing, an embodiment of the subject matter of the invention is shown, namely: FIG. 1 schematically shows the feed mechanism in an apparatus of the known type and FIG. 2 shows a similar representation of the exemplary embodiment.
In the two figures, for the sake of clarity, corresponding elements are denoted by the same reference numbers. The film 1 moves in the direction of the arrows shown between the fixed film web 2 and the resilient pressure rails 3 . The image window 4 is located in the film web, e.g. B. the window through which the images are projected onto a screen with the aid of an objective 5 .
The film is continuously moved forward by means of a toothed roller 6 which, viewed in the direction of movement, lies behind the film path and against which the film rests with the aid of a pusher roller 7 . In order to achieve with this continuous advancement of the film that the film is moved intermittently by only one center-to-center distance along the picture window, there is a periodic up and down movement in the direction of the arrows shown between the film web and the pressure roller Arranged striking organ, which in the present case is represented by a role 8 .
When moving in the direction of the arrow pointing downwards, the roller 8 enlarges the film loop located between the film web and the drive roller. Because of the continuous rotation of the roller 6 , the film loop is again reduced in size in the next moment, with the roller 8 moving in the opposite direction until it arrives at the dashed position in which the film is in the position also shown in dashed lines. During this phase, the film is still in the image window and the relevant image scene can be recorded or. can be reproduced.
Then the cycle described is repeated and the film is again pushed forward by the height of a film frame by enlarging the film loop 9 .
In the case of the arrangement of the film track, beater element and drive roller shown in FIG. 1, the disadvantage is that in the case of the driving downward movement of the roller 8 the Film loop does not always have the same shape and therefore does not always have the same length, so that the film is pulled forward one time more and the other less. Fig. 1 shows two such forms of the film loop, one of which is shown in dashed lines.
As can be clearly seen from position 10 and position 11 , the film can stand on both sides of the beater roller 8 and also on the run-up on the drive roller 6 in that the curvature of the film parts in one position differs from that in the other, which means a difference in the maximum loop length between window 4 and roller 6 </ B> entails.
In FIG. 2, the arrangement of the straight film web 2, the impact roller 8 and the drive roller 6 in relation to one another has been chosen such that in the one with a fully drawn Line shown . Position of the roller 8 in which the loop length is greatest, the shape of the loop is determined by guidance, so that on both sides of the impact roller no different curvatures in the film parts concerned can arise during the successive blows.
For this purpose, among other things, the film web 2 is extended in relation to the pressing rails 3 , specifically in such a way that in the lowest position of the roll 8 the film is between the image window 4 and the roll 8 is forced to lay in a straight piece on the extended part of the film web.
The named film part is thus periodically unrolled and rolled up along the film path. The arrangement of the film track, beater and drive roller has also been chosen such that in the outermost position of the beater (FIG. 2) the distance between the beater roller and the film track and that between the beater roller and the drive roller is three times the Film thickness is.
This offers the advantage that the unsupported film parts on both sides of the impact roller are as small as practically possible.
