      Brennkraftmasehine    mit zwei     Reihen    zueinander paralleler     Zylinder    und zwei       Kurbelwellen.       Die     Erfindung    bezieht sich auf eine Brenn  kraftmaschine mit zwei Reihen zueinander  paralleler Zylinder und zwei     Kurbelwellen.     



  Solche Motoren ermöglichen eine bessere  Raumausnutzung als     141ehrzy        lindermotoren     mit in     V-Form    angeordneten Zylindern. Da  gegen benötigten bisher die zwei Kurbel  wellen immer noch zuviel Platz, da sie im  Abstand von mehr als der doppelten Kurbel  armlänge angeordnet waren.  



  Die Erfindung bezweckt, den     bekannten     derartigen     Brennkraftmaschinen    gegenüber  eine weitere Raumeinsparung dadurch zu er  möglichen, dass die Kurbeln der     einen    Welle  in die Lücken     zwischen    den     Kurbeln    der  andern Welle eingreifen, wobei beide Wellen  entgegengesetzt umlaufen. Vorzugsweise lie  gen bei um 180  versetzten Kurbeln auf jeder  Welle die Kurbeln der einen Welle in einer  lotrechten Ebene, wenn die Kurbeln der       zweiten    Welle     in        einer    waagrechten Ebene  liegen.

      Bei einem     12-Zylindermotor    mit um 120   versetzten Kurbein     können    die beiden Wellen       untereinander    in einer Stellung     angeordnet     sein, bei welcher     eine    Kurbel nach unten und  die beiden andern     wie    bei einem Y nach oben  zeigen. Dabei dreht sich die eine Welle im  Sinne des Uhrzeigers und die andere ent  gegengesetzt. Auch hier können die Wellen  achsen wesentlich näher     aneinandergerückt     und so die Bauhöhe des Motors verkleinert  werden.

   Da jedoch die     Motorzylinder        in    sol  chem Falle einander hinderlich wären, wenn  sie übereinander angeordnet würden, sind die  Zylinder der einen Reihe gegenüber denen  der andern Reihe zweckmässig versetzt an  geordnet. .  



  Die Zeichnung veranschaulicht halb  schematisch als Ausführungsbeispiel des       Erfindungsgegenstandes    einen     8-Zylinder-          motor,    und zwar in       Abb.    1 im     Querschnitt    und in       Abb.    2 im     Längsschnitt.         Die     zueinander    entgegengesetzt umlaufen  den Kurbelwellen liegen, wie aus     Abb.    1 er  sichtlich, übereinander und die Ebenen der  Kurbeln 1 und 2 stehen in der gezeichneten  Stellung zueinander senkrecht.

   Dabei sind  die Wellenachsen auf einen Abstand von  weniger als der doppelten     Kurbelarmlänge          aneinandergerückt,so    dass das Kurbelgehäuse  3 bedeutend niedriger ist, als wenn beide       Kurbeln    in dieser     Stellung    in der senkrechten  Ebene lägen. Die Zylinder 4 sind, wie aus       Abb.    2 ersichtlich, so gegeneinander versetzt,  dass die obern Zylinder     zwischen    den untern  liegen und daher genug Raum haben.     In          Abb.    1     sind    auch noch Teile der Pleuelstan  gen 5 eines jeden Zylinders veranschaulicht.

    Dabei ist trotz wesentlicher Verringerung der  Motorhöhe der Motor nicht viel länger als ohne  Zylinderversetzung, da die durch das Ver  setzen der Zylinder entstehende Verlänge  rung nicht mehr beträgt als etwa die Hälfte  des Zylinderdurchmessers.

  The aim of the invention is to enable further space savings compared to the known internal combustion engines of this type in that the cranks of one shaft engage in the gaps between the cranks of the other shaft, with both shafts rotating in opposite directions. Preferably, if the cranks are offset by 180 on each shaft, the cranks of one shaft are in a vertical plane when the cranks of the second shaft are in a horizontal plane.

      In the case of a 12-cylinder engine with crank legs offset by 120, the two shafts can be arranged one below the other in a position in which one crank points down and the other two point upwards like a Y. One shaft rotates clockwise and the other counter-clockwise. Here, too, the shaft axes can be moved much closer to one another, thus reducing the overall height of the motor.

   However, since the engine cylinders in sol chem case would be a hindrance to each other if they were arranged one above the other, the cylinders of one row are appropriately offset from those of the other row. .



  The drawing illustrates an 8-cylinder engine in a semi-schematic manner as an embodiment of the subject matter of the invention, namely in Fig. 1 in cross section and in Fig. 2 in longitudinal section. The oppositely rotating crankshafts are, as can be seen in Fig. 1, one above the other and the planes of the cranks 1 and 2 are perpendicular to each other in the position shown.

   The shaft axes are moved closer to one another to a distance of less than twice the length of the crank arm, so that the crankcase 3 is significantly lower than if both cranks were in this position in the vertical plane. As can be seen from Fig. 2, the cylinders 4 are offset from one another in such a way that the upper cylinders lie between the lower cylinders and therefore have enough space. In Fig. 1 parts of the connecting rods are also shown gene 5 of each cylinder.

    Despite a significant reduction in the engine height, the engine is not much longer than without the cylinder offset, since the extension caused by the cylinders being set is no more than about half the cylinder diameter.

Brennkraftmaschine nach Patentan spruch, mit um 180 versetzten Kurbeln auf jeder Welle, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass die Kurbeln der einen Welle in einer lotrechten Ebene liegen, wenn die Kurbeln der zweiten Welle in einer waagrechten Ebene liegen. z.
