Description

EMI0002.0001

    Solvant <SEP> Colorant <SEP> dissous
<tb> à <SEP> saturation
<tb> Alcool <SEP> éthylique <SEP> 0,25 <SEP> % <SEP> en <SEP> poids
<tb> Tétrahydrofurane <SEP> 5,9 <SEP> % <SEP> " <SEP> "
<tb> Alcool <SEP> tétrahydrofurfury lique <SEP> l0,9 <SEP> % <SEP> <SEP> "
<tb> Epoxy-2-6-hexanol-1 <SEP> 16 <SEP> % <SEP> " <SEP> " <I>Exemple 2:</I> On répète la même expérience, en utili sant comme colorant le produit commerciale ment connu sous le nom de "Bleu B pour vernis acétyle".

On utilise comme solvants des mélanges binaires
EMI0002.0002

A solution of a coloring matter or a constituent of a coloring matter. The subject of the present invention is a solution of at least one dye or dye component, characterized in that the solvent medium consists at least in part of epoxy-2-6-hexanol-1.

The Applicant has in fact discovered that epoxy-2-6-hexanol-1 constitutes a remarkable and unequaled solvent to date for coloring materials - and constituents of coloring materials, in particular those of these products and materials which are insoluble in water, and that the new solutions thus obtained lend themselves to the most varied uses in the technique of lacquers or varnishes, dyeing or printing, the manufacture of artificial fibers, etc.

The remarkable properties of solutions of dyes or dye constituents in epoxy-2-6-hexanol-1 allow them in particular to support the addition of large proportions of non-solvents, or of dissolved materials, and, in this is the excellent solvent properties of epoxy-2-6-hexanol-1 vis-à-vis synthetic resins and other similar technical materials, fortunately combine with its behavior still unknown vis-à-vis colo rants.

The term "dye constituent" should be understood to mean bodies which, in themselves, are not dyes, but which, by reacting with another "dye constituent" give rise to a coloring matter.

Here are some examples of the solubility of dyes in various solvents and of the application of the solution according to the invention. Example <I> 1: </I> The mixture is kneaded until saturation of the 1-4- 5-8-tetraminoanthraquinone with various organic solvents at 25 C. It is filtered through paper and the quantity of colourant dissolved in the mixture is determined. filtrate.

   We get the following figures:
EMI0002.0001

    Solvent <SEP> Dye <SEP> dissolved
<tb> to <SEP> saturation
<tb> Alcohol <SEP> ethyl <SEP> 0.25 <SEP>% <SEP> in <SEP> weight
<tb> Tetrahydrofuran <SEP> 5.9 <SEP>% <SEP> "<SEP>"
<tb> Alcohol <SEP> tetrahydrofurfury lique <SEP> l0,9 <SEP>% <SEP> <SEP> "
<tb> Epoxy-2-6-hexanol-1 <SEP> 16 <SEP>% <SEP> "<SEP>" <I> Example 2: </I> The same experiment is repeated, using as dye the product commercially known under the name of "Blue B for acetyl varnish".

Binary mixtures are used as solvents
EMI0002.0002

<I> Example 3: </I> The saturated solution of 1-4-5-8-tetramino-anthraquinone in epoxy-2-6-hexanol-1 obtained according to example 1 is added, while stirring constantly , in a solution of gum arabic, and the resulting paste is used for printing a super-polyamide fabric. A re-markable impression is obtained with a very good yield.

Example The same solution is diluted with a lukewarm soap solution, then with soft water, to form a dye bath. An extremely fine dispersion of the dye is obtained, exhibiting the brown motion, and allowing excellent dyes on cellulose acetate to be obtained under difficult conditions.

<I> Example 5: </I> The dye solution in the mixture of equal volumes of ethyl alcohol and epoxy-2-6-hexanol-1 obtained according to example 2 is placed in the tank of a scarf, and a cellulose acetate ribbon is passed through the bath which is then wrung out and then air dried. We instantly obtain a very regular and very even dye, with good solidity. A similar result would be obtained with a fabric made of vinyl threads (polymers or copolymers of vinyl chloride).

The applications thus described are of course not the only ones to which the solutions according to the present invention are susceptible. Thus the latter can, for example, also be added to solutions for spinning artificial fibers, to plastics intended to be molded or injected, to paints, lacquers, etc.

Likewise, other dyes belonging to other chemical classes can be used, for example basic dyes, vat dyes or dye constituents, for example compounds belonging to the series of naphtazols or naphthols AS and to that solid bases, which considerably widens the possible field of use of the solutions according to the present invention.
